- Decided to tackle the first official scratch build for Silver Gulch. The Cobbler. Working with two mediums, Wood & Plastic. This should be a three part series, I'm working on 11.3 right now.

I defiantly appreciate the step by step process your videos play in the background constantly while i build and design my layout.
Thanks Rusty!
It came out very well. Good job.
Thank you!
That is coming out great, love the process
Thanks Ray!
Very cool, Dennis. Excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir!
That is nice detail work Dennis.....WOW!! Going to look Great.
Thanks Bob!
Great idea to use the building front to save time and add reality.
Keep up the great work
Look forward to seeing your work.
Been hooked since the timesaver
I’m not sure it saved any time but it does add depth and I was even able to add a light. Thanks Charles!
Looking good, Dennis. I really like the "cassette" concept and the details within.
Thanks Paul!
You’re absolutely correct. Inset doors on retail buildings. was common in building design back in the day.
Good to know, Thanks for stopping in!
Some good work Dennis
Thanks Anthony!
Dennis...very fine work, sir! Well done! ...Claude
Many thanks Claude!
Awesome detail Dennis.
Thanks!
I really like how the store front came out
Thanks Chris, I'm pretty happy with how the building turned out as well!
Wow, Dennis! This build is turning out amazing.😲 It's very convincing. I'd shop there any day! Glad to see plans for a backdrop photo instead of all black, especially now that the cassette will have interior lighting. Love that "music-to-saw-by" part - the residents of silver gulch must be turning over in their graves.❤ lol. 🚂Lawrence
I had you in mind when I picked out the music!! :-) Thanks Lawrence!
@@OtterCreek Thank you! I wondered about that. "Nah, he wouldn't, would he?"🤔
Dennis, to apply window gazing in tight places you should use Micro Mark’s Vacuum Pickup tool (part number 81851, $12.00) It holds the “glass” until you press it in place and release it. It’s really handy
Good idea. Although it wouldn't have worked in this instance unless it also has a 90-degree angle adapter to the suction cup! Tweezers worked like a charm. Thanks TC.
👍👌✌
Thanks!
A grip for airbrush’s may help hand pain.
I'll have to look int one. Thanks!!
I increase my Styrene supply by 2-3 profiles every time I go to the hobby shop (or order). It is not expensive if it is a certain investment. You will use it, and thank yourself down the road for doing so. 😁
I wish I had a brick-and-mortar shop near me, I would definitely do just that. I've got a good collection of sheet material, some round stock, and small tubing. I've been scanning e-bay looking for assortments for sale. It's hard to know what will be most useful with no experience. I've got some half-round on the way, and some of the more common lumber dimensions. Thanks for stopping in Boomer!
@@OtterCreek The Angle stock is nice to have: # 291, 292, 293, 294, and all the Rod sizes . . . and of course the smaller half and quarter round stock.
@@boomerdiorama Thanks!
Looks great Dennis 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 how many more to go? 😄😄
Approximately 30... in Silver Gulch anyway. LOL
Looks really good ao far. Have tou thought about adding a small light to the building? Im thinking a tiny led woth a yellow tint to eimulate the old incandescent bulbs and have it be a but dim.
That will be addressed in the next video! Thanks Mike!
Great demo video. I came in late at the very end of the airbrushing.
Two questions came up for me. Sorry if you’ve talked about these in previous videos.
1. Is there a vacuum at the other end of that tube in the back wall of your spray booth?
2. Why did you decide to do the wood building with front cassette front? Is it because it simplifies building or to make it more damage-proof?
1.) Yes, I need to build a better box and add some filtration.
2.) Yes to both of your points. I have a lot of scrap 2x4 material and with just a few passes on the table saw have the overall dimensions of the structure. It also makes a very sturdy structure. Thanks for the view!
You are really talented - multiple skills demonstrated throughout this build. Do you plan on any interior or exterior lighting?
Interior lights are in the works, next video! Thanks Randy!
Cool modeling work. Who are the music artists? They don't seem to be the two credits you listed.
The intro song is a song that I produced and performed some of the tracks for. The artist is Daniel Jordan. (a good friend) You can find a different version of this song on his album "Introduction" at danieljordanmusic.com/music-1
The shoes are a simple fix. Get a bunch of unpainted figures ( they’re cheap) and cut their feet off.
If only you could have posted this BEFORE I completed the build. Oh well, this is the nature of YT comments. The good ones are always a day late and a dollar short. The bad ones, similar to armpits.... :-)
@@OtterCreek Full disclosure. Last night I missed the live feed because I was watching football. When I realized I missed the feed I went to the channel and started watching, what I thought was last night’s feed and I got last weeks show instead. Then two things happened. I had the thought about the shoes and then realized I had a good idea for the wrong episode. So, I posted it anyway and went on to the butcher’s episode,🤷♂️, which I did enjoy.
@@tczephyr3665 LOL!! That sir, is hilarious!! I appreciate any video you watch... or think you are watching!!
