How dare they say, "Nay"!☹ The lighting looks very appropriate for that era. (Imperfectly diffused, and pretty yellow.) Do you have unseen angels helping you Dennis? I heard very faint Celestial music in the background - a calming effect that's perfect for such creative work.😇😌 You were pondering a staircase, but isn't that a staircase between the buildings, (and several others in that photo) or are those just fire escapes?🤔 Anyway, well done! This is really an interesting education. It's fun to watch you think while listening to you build!🙃 🚂Lawrence
There is certainly an external staircase on one or two of those buildings in the picture. I guess I was trying to rationalize where the windows should go and why. Some things are important in my mind as I build... LOL

It’s too late now but, if you glue a piece of aluminum foil to the ceiling it may help to diffuse the light
