Well Dennis i know that you are relieved to have gotten this far. Won't be long before you get to doing some scenic work. Great information. I always learn something from you
I've been waiting to see track laid on that large curve going to Maroon Creek! I can't wait to see a train running on it! It's going to be so cool. Also, congrats on your 100th update!!
A very ling time ago I had one of the first DCC systems from Keller Engineering. I wish I knew where they went to or who bought them out. They had a feature that I think would be great for all DCC systems. This system had a buzzer that went off when the system felt any kind of short while you were wiring it up. Such a good deal!!!
So the system is on while you are wiring? Sounds interesting for sure, I suppose you could leave on a command station while wiring, but I know I will occasionally cross wires during the process! Digitrax sends 4 beeps on start up if it is shorted, I think it's one beep every two seconds during normal operation if a short occurs. My PSX circuit breakers send a constant tone when shorted out. Thanks for dropping a comment David!
@@OtterCreek Yes that system was on all of the time and I never had a short that got soldered and the joint finished. What's the problem with the system being on at that time??
Nothing I suppose. It's a matter of work flow. I do track work and wiring out in the shop and flip the section I'm working on over multiple times before I'm finished with it. I hook up the command station from time to time as go, it's just not feasible to leave it hooked up all the time. I don't think there is a DCC system out there that does not produce some kind of alert when there is a short circuit when powered on.

Wow, that was a major leap forward toward the completion of track work. I hope to see it in person, someday. Keep up the good work Dennis.
Thanks Gerald, I'd say I'm ahead of schedule. Just let me know if you ever happen by!
Congrats on all the progress. I love time-lapse... it makes it look like nothing but I realize it ALWAYS so much more!
Yes, I enjoy time lapse as well. I figure it's a great way to show what I do without taking hours!! Thanks for the view and comment!
Another great video. Fun to watch as you make progress building your layout. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John! Glad you enjoy the channel.
Fantastic amount of progress, really is looking good. I am totally envious of the space you have. Congrats on reaching milestone "update100."
Thanks Paul! You've gotten a lot done yourself!
@@OtterCreek Getting ready to begin layout expansion. Starting drawing out plans for a peninsula. Time to pull the trigger and get working...

I plan on taking some video this weekend. Everything seems pretty smooth so far.
Congrats on reaching 100 video updates on your narrow gauge layout build! Keep up the work!
Thanks!
Very nice progress update, Dennis. Happy model railroading!
Thank you sir!!
Awesome progress. Thank you for the update.
Thanks for watching!
I don’t know which to be more enviable of; your layout work, or that killer radial arm crosscut bench😅
Lol! I love the Radial and bench! Best investment for my railroad by far! Thanks for dropping by!
Exciting leap forward!
Thanks Shawn!
You are a master craftsman! Great video
Thanks for the kind words!
👍👍
👍🏻
Congrats on reaching this milestone!!
Thanks Heath! I appreciate your views and comments. You are a great friend to the greater model railroad community!!

Dennis your giving your wife bad ideas on what to do with the excess canned vegies when she doesn't have room in the kitchen. LOL.
Eventually I will probably have to give them all back!
@@OtterCreek That or your layout will become the new pantry.
