    Awesome video! I'm not sure if you'll respond to this, but when you prepare your mix, do you have a specific LUFS/true peak number you're aiming for before mastering it?

    So good! I always had the idea of mastering with doing the less possible but you are showing me that you can really add some sauce on this process. Thanks!

    Very similar for me, depending on the mix might use some tape emulation from Arturia, but at the mastering stage the track (hopefully) doesn't need any big changes

      That’s the thing - ideally the master is keeping minimal where possible! What are you using for compressors?

    I also use the Soothe2 in my master chain I very like some of the mastering presets like the 'Balance To The Grammy Award' is very nice:)

    One of my favorite mastering tricks is to add ozone 5's reverb on the master with a 10-20% mix and with a low cut
    I don't what happens but it opens up the track and makes it sound dreamy

      That’s interesting, defo a little controversial but these are the things that give us the unique sound / can defo see why it would work! Will give this a go

    Do you dither? and do you have any go to configuration on the audio regarding bit or sample rate? Cheers

    • @MondoLoops
      @MondoLoops  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey mate usually do depending on the requirements of the Label etc. but more often I will work at 48khz as standard and dither final master triangular as standard - but if bouncing stems I wont dither

    Are tracks exported before mastering then? Help I'm an idiot

    • @frank_bee
      @frank_bee 4 місяці тому +3

      you mix all the single tracks and export it to a stereo wave file. then import it to a new project and do the mastering

      It’s worth noting, the reason why one exports the track as a consolidated file is strictly to save on CPU usage so you don’t have 100+ plugins actively running (as you would during the mixing stage) as you’d likely run into issues adding Mastering plugins on top of all this. As a fun bonus, seeing the audio waveform is a nice little indicator of the dynamic range before you dive into the mastering process.

    • @MondoLoops
      @MondoLoops  4 місяці тому +1

      Exactly what so.tired said - some people like to do it to sepetate the process but if I can get away with mastering the project I defo will as this means you can still tweak mix elements whilst mastering
