If you’re interested in vocal recording and want to see more of this, YOU CAN! This video is a compilation of a 3 piece, 1 hour vocal recording series which you can watch on THE VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP! Holy smokes that vocal performance sounded like it’s off the radio right from the get-go, and live. The singer’s skill and tone makes life easier in the studio for sure, doing most of the heavy lifting for you 👏
this is the part of recording that they don’t show you before these pro tutorials ! it’s not rocket science it is achievable with the right treatment procedure and practice
As someone who’s a professional engineer I can say you did such a wonderful job with this video. I can now send this to all my clients who ask “can you teach me how to record”. 🔥🔥
This was lowkey a gem man. I looked a month ago for a vocal tutorial start to finish and this got uploaded its like you heard me lol! Thanks to the artist for this too. Sharing her amazing gift. One of the best recordings I've heard and I need to hear this song when its done. Thank you guys!
Can you show us the full mixing process of this recording sessions(if you mix it) without any cut, or others.. your videos are so helping man thanks you
This is awesome. I have been researching how to get my hands on experience in a Recording Studio and This seems close enough to actually having that connection in the Industry and knocking out those studio hours if you don't have the actual equipment to do so. Everything done digitally in DAW compliments the workflow. Still trying to figure out that board back there.
Thank you for that compliment! If you want to take an even deeper dive, check out the Virtual Internship if you hit the JOIN button under my videos. There’s an hour long version of this vocal recording, as well as drum recording and many mix breakdowns! A lot of stuff to learn!
THE SONG SOUNDS SO OPEN & GOOD ALREADY, IS IT THE ANALOG? I DONT THINK YOU CAN GET THIS SOUND FROM THE BOX ONLY....THE SSL BOARD, THE ANALOG GEAR, MIC AND PREAMP HAS AS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SOUNDING SO GOOD OFF THE BET.
This was quality, i am currently recording a female vocal and pretty much doing the same thing, its good to know i am on the right track when it comes to recording as i think when done right at the begining stages the mixing will be so much easier. Please make more of these videos. 😊
The beauty of a console is just amazing, the depth and separation are just unmatched by an in-the-box mix in my opinion. She is a great singer and a great vocal chain for her voice.
New sub. Awesome content! Hope you do a full band recording session in the near future. It's always inspiring watching a pro working in real time and facing issues and making decision as you go.
we have completed "music production video bingo" * top singer performance * bank-breaking gear * professional music track * often can't hear what changed * "rough mix" sounds ready to get the prize
Right, so all we need is a $3000 Neumann U47, Neve1073 EQ and Tube tech compressor going into Pro Tools through a SSL 64 channel desk, PMC monitors and a professional track…
Will definitely do that later on! Right now i want to start focussing on separate instruments first. Do check out the videos in which i do a breakdown of previous live recording sessions ive done
Great video and very informative. Can you further explain why you chose the U67 for back vox? You should do this same process for a rap artist. Thanks for all your work 🤝🏽
why not use the ssl for monitoring for headphones, instead of having the buffer in Protools ruin the timing? That's how I have it set up... the vocalist has no need to hear any delay whatsoever.
Exactly my thoughts as a console guy… it’s likely he understands that most people don’t have a console and will need to know how to fix the latency… or perhaps he has no hardware reverb for the singer’s performance
I saw a dogs distance from a mixing console, but i did not see a singer's distances from a mic in different sections of a song. Is setting a compressor on a soft parts on purpose ? I would also like to see a nice reverb that was present all the time during the recording. Otherwise, the result is wonderful. Great work !
Wow Nice video, such a pro!!! though, with RME hdsp or Aurora16 + AES16 PCI you can get 1x32 with no problem.... I usually do live recordings and even mixing live shows with RME with 32in/16out and the RME is far the best you can get hardware vise - PCI!

Let’s go
I use a Shelford preamp instead of a 1073; what do you think about it? Also, are you using a vintage 1073?
Love the analog process.
awesome video bro!
Excellent video! Thanks. Who is the vocalist? Is this track, or other work from her, available yet?
Daamn...! No one realized she sings like beyonce,,,the producer is giving her the best🎉🎉🎉i love it❤❤❤❤

There's not much content like this out there, thank you! Great quality :)
Excellent tutorial. This helps people feel less nervous and more confident. Experience is everything though…
but "tutorial" implies possibility to repeat...
@@unclecrassius2318 I learned🤷🏾♂️😁

😂

Preprocessing is always a great place to start, and I always prefer the outboard gear. Neve pre Amp is the best 👌🏻
Very cool. Thanks!

I also totally agree!😊
I love these kind of workflow videos, I feel like an intern here.

The sound quality is so clean, greetings from jamaica
This video is very very helpful ❤
My go to vocal mic is my Neumann U-87 Ai and my recording software is UAD Luna. I used Pro Tools before i start to use Luna.
Great video I would love it if you would show how to set up hardware inserts in Protools Thanks.
My dream is to record a song in a studio like this. It's really cool🥺🥺❤🔥
Very helpful, thank you for the instruction and examples. And yea, it sounded great!

@@hauntedbytheliving1175 you can see a Lexicon Reverb fixed in the console, so he could use that one for sure
in the playback engine setting it looked like it said UAD Apollo… you should have zero latency
We need mix breakdowns bro. Great tutorial, youve gained a subscriber.
Have you watched all mix breakdowns in The Virtual Internship yet? There’s about 10 hours worth and more coming up!
Also, check out the one i did with Boombox on their channel

Universal Audio Sphere DLX Modeling Sony C800. Then for extra thickness, I stack vocals with an sm7b and align them to the main vocals.

Thankyou for showing each steps of rec session. Please answer my question I wanna know why did you use the mic up side down ?
Sure thing! I like to turn the mic upside down so the artist has their hands free and there’s nothing in the way
Thanks mate
