Before the update dropped I was kind of worried about how good it would be. But when it came out and I started playing the new maps and seeing the new items I was very happy with the results. The first Map I queued into when the update dropped was Rotunda and I was having the most fun in this game i've had in a long time, just a feeling of pure joy.
When update only released i with few friends decided to test it on second day. Saxton Hale wasnt available in casual so we stick with other maps. And maaan, everything was awesome until Venice. After first round in attack i saw that we dont have engineer. I said cool i can play as my favorite class. After playing for only 5 minutes i had melt down in Discord. I screamed that i cant built anything because there is so many flank position so that map doesnt have any good position for defense engineer.
Venice has gotten its fair share of fixes since the updates release, it definitely still isn't up to the standards of most other maps and the layout as you mentioned still is not great in terms of defending as Engineer but I do recommend giving it another try!

The mercenaries in VSH were voiced by James Mcguinn. Megapieman only voiced Saxton and Gray Mann. Both did an amazing job btw
