While i've got things like the Poker Night items and the Summer 2011 cosmetics (which you missed), the item I'm proudest of is my Vintage Concheror. For the first 4 days after Concheror came out Valve forgot to give it its own crafting recipe, so you could only craft one randomly using the generic blueprint. Once Valve gave it its own recipe, the ones crafted the hard way were upgraded to Vintage. The weapon sucked at the time so very few (~200) were made.
The wiki cap is probably the hardest item to get, since it's a catch 42 (since they won't give people the hat who are just editing the wiki to get the hat), though that doesn’t stop people.

If I’m not mistaken, the game you would get the black rose from is back on steam, but because it is technically a separate game from the original, it doesn’t work and you still can’t get it. Would be cool if they fixed that one day!

The Tux was still obtainable in-game past the original stated date, it was not until mid to late-March that the Tux finally became unobtainable. People were able to receive this item as a windows or mac user by using an application to trick the Valve servers into thinking players were running the game under a Linux Distribution. The application also changed people's usernames to "I Cheated for a Tux" and at that time around 7000 people had used the application before the item became unobtainable. I was one of them, I cheated for that Tux, and at the time I thought Linux users were huffing their own farts and thought their rage at a Virtual Machine application was delicious.

No you can not. The game is entirely removed from steams systems if i'm not mistaken.
