Castleberry wants to know if they come in aluminum.
His tin foil plates are getting too heavy.
🤣🤣🤣
Have not yet watched, but Rogue is the only one who sells 35s, so I'm assuming they won.
Marvel crossover event confirmed, collab video coming?
Coop hates 35's so obviously they didn't win.
Haha but honestly the deep dish are the must bad ass looking
Not that I hate them, but I don’t own 35’s myself 😎😎😎
35s for life!!!!
@@lennythedog6544 I own 2 35’s lol rarely use them
Thank you coop, for reminding me a $100 barbell can get you just as strong as a $1000 barbell.
Don't have a 1000$ bar and a 10 ₵ squat.
Forreal. I have the smallest budget and everytime I watch a home gym video, I still feel bad for buying a 170$ bar.
@@michaellk2254 has it bended yet?
"ATX® POWER BAR + 700KG - SPRING STEEL - CHROME" is this one good? i have this
@@aba192 thank you Mr Simmons.
coop said “the guy she tells you not to worry about which is me” comedyyy keep the vids going man good work
I received my 375lb set of The Strength Co plates this week. I would say that they’re perfect. They have a very light texture to them that will help with gripping the plate. The finish on them is like nothing I’ve seen before. I like that the back is not milled. Amazing USA made product. I decided to purchase their Olympic and Power bar after seeing the quality of the plates. Great Company!
@@maggiekay7426 I have a Rogue Ohio power bar, Texas power bar and Strength co power bar. I use each one for separate lifts but my favorite is the Strength co bar. It has deeper knurling and the plates sit around 3/4” closer to the bar which makes lifting feel more stable to me. But I also think the sharp knurling will turn a lot of people off so I’d recommend the Rogue Ohio Power bar for most people.
Kabuki felt like the stepchild during this video
They’re worse than the other 2
Coop, I love your content, but I wish you would do more reviews on budget-friendly equipment. I feel like few of us are even buying plates brand-new. I would love to see you review things like powertec multi press, titan plate loaded lat pulldown, budget-friendly leg machines or things like that which would cater to someone who just wants to lift heavy and train hard at home but doesn’t have a huge amount of disposable income. Not multi-thousand-dollar fly wheels and Tonals. Thanks for all you do Coop, hope you take this into consideration.
Full agreement here!
+1 for the leg machines
45 lbs is 45 lbs, with or without any + or - 2% warning. Usually, and especially during the Covid period, availability, selling price, and shipping are what my simple home gym looks at more than brand name appeal. Used to be a steady Titan customer, but recently scored eight 2 1/2lb plates (my youngest son uses them to load a bar for speedy-change breakdown sets) from Rogue, and 2 pair of 45s from Vulcan, all while Titan was out of stock on every size. Shipping wasn't too bad for my small Rogue 20lb order, and I live pretty close to Vulcan, so UPS charges were minimal on the 45s. It pays to look around ......
Don't buy anything Titan
@@jordanbomb32 I hear ya, and half agree. I don't think quality matters much on cast iron plates, as long as they're available for fast shipping turn-around. Titan has pissed me off plenty on items I bought on back order as I watched the "expected shipping date" keep getting moved back until finally their site said "Out of Stock." Allegedly, my item will now ship around 02/20 after my order on 12/30 ... allegedly. (original estimate was late January) My half-serious guess is that the Chinese who supply many similar companies just like the other companies more than they do Titan.
Gotta drop some Kabuki love here... I love my Kabuki plates, and they were the best value for me (I only live about 5 miles away and was able to pick them up in person, and not have to pay shipping). Milling is cool and all, but I appreciate the raw aesthetic of the plain forged plates. Plus, they deserve at least 5 knurl marks in my book just for being made out of recycled artillery shells... that's badass!
Only thing is that they are cast iron and not forged
Yeah that is totally badass I had no idea m!
The shipping cost is why I went with Rogue. I was able to get more weight for about $100 cheaper because of the shipping cost
The editor outdid himself 🔥😤
Just waiting on the Rogue change plates... keep putting in the word, Coop!
Well done...
I just saw Eleiko is moving their US Headquarters to Austin.
If this is true i hope they give a local discount
(Business) taxes are lower in Texas.
Coop quit being so humble 1400lb squat is a warm up for you not a regular set
Edit: sorry KG**
My favorite channel, I look forward to each upload. Coop looking buff 💪
Finally pulled the trigger on some rogue deep dish..went with a pair of 45 and a pair of 100’s. Thanks for the review.
I don't think we could possibly ask for anything more on a current deep dish plate review. Covered every base and looked damn good doing it.
But coop you didn’t even talk about the tolerance of how they fit on the bar that and how the strength co has extra material around the area where you slide the plate onto the bar sets it above both of these as far as quality goes for use
This is an important feature. We agree.
Probably because in this whole 20+ minute video he didn't even put them on an actual barbell to do the main lifts, which IMO are most important lifts to do when figuring out which plates you like best. I think coop just rides Rogues d*ck a little too hard. Doesn't matter which plate looks the coolest lmfao. Give them a chance next time cooper. Beat the shit out of the plates before judging them.
@@thestrengthco I also agree, but maybe the >$600 in plates I just bought makes me biased?
I have both the Rogue Deep Dish and Strength Co. plates. Not only does Strength Co. offer a complete assortment of the sizes of plates (2.5 - 100), the Rogue 25s are not easy to handle given their is no deep dish feature on them. In fact, the Rogue 25s have slipped out of my hand due to the almost non-existent lip for gripping it. I like the fit of the Strength Co. plates on my bar better than Rogue, which has a little play in it. Agree the finish on the Rogue's are as good as it gets, but the Strength Co. finish is about as good. For me, the Strength Co. plates are a clear winner over Rogue given the fit on the bar and complete range of plate sizes. Yes, Rogue is less expensive, but neither are inexpensive and are an investment, so the Strength Co.represents a better value to me.
Stop listening to this little gay manlet
Another Great review 👌 Would you ever consider doing reviews on vintage gear?
Love your vids Coop
I just love 45’s with grip handles/ grip holes near the rim. So great even for loaded carries. Also, my wife who’s average strength would have trouble helping me load those plates without holes- harder to pick up off the ground if laying flat and gotta make sure grip is really secure when sliding them off a weight tree or else might slide out of hands and necessitate a visit to the Podiatrist.
Would you consider reviewing a dip / chin-up station? I may buy one for my home. Thanks!
Good review coop. If you are concerned with running out of room due to wider plates for deadlifts, then you need a deadlift bar. If you are running out of room for squats or bench, you are a god and don’t need to lift weights.
Overall, solid review. Having both the Rogue DD (45s & 25s) and the entire StrengthCo collection, I find your review fair and accurate. The only thing I will argue with is the matching of the back of Rogue. I first considered it an advantage because it’s perfect and beautiful. However, after months of use of both plates, I now consider StrengthCo not machining the backs as an advantage toward long term durability and aesthetics. The backs of StrengthCo are exceptionally durable as a result while the Rogue scratch very easily
This has always been our position on this. Machined backs scratch over time with iron on iron usage.
Thank you for the video. I live 38 minutes away from Strength Co. Pick up is free. I'm going to buy mine right now. The best part about all this.I can buy Made in the USA.
Me too. Just picked mine up last week. Very nice fit and finish. The free pickup made it a bit closer to being not ridiculously over-priced. Glad I went the Strength Co route.
Love seeing new videos!!!
Rogue deep dish for the wiiiiin!!! If you can’t make some cornbread out of you plate, is it really worth buying?
Coop, what's your opinion of the York Legacy milled plates?
When you get the chance Coop can you review weight it out steel plates?
Jeff Cavalier wants to know if you can recommend some plates that are lighter than the numbers embossed on them suggests? Sorry couldn't help myself.
Been waiting for this one 🙌
I got you Mike! Now shave that beard and rock a glorious mustache with your brethren Coop.
@@GarageGymReviews coop question have you heard of energetic barbels ? I just brought there 2000 capacity bar off amazon i do powerlifting on my channel is it a good bar in your humble opinion ?
Great video Coop. One point on the Rogue is that they are ductile iron. I went Rogue myself, but if you live out West, the Strength Co. shipping is not bad.
We will be shipping out of both California and Georgia by March 30th.
I have the deep dish and the Strength Co plates. I moved to iron from bumpers. I like both they iron plates. the deep dish are easy to use with that great thin lip. The Strength Co's are great also they have a good feel and look great to me. I think it is a toss up between the two but I would go with the Strength Co plates because I like supporting a person that just saw a need and filled it with USA made products.
I recently received my first pair of deep dish plates and I’m very happy with them, unfortunately I can’t afford a stack of plates so I have to go slow as money allows, but I will be buying another pair, pretty soon
Awesome videos... but cant find one about bumperplates,,,, would love your opinion on how the metal in the plates center should be ✌️
Tight fit is the most important feature for me, and I didn't hear that mentioned. I bought Rogue hundos last week, but I have my eye on Strength Co in the near distant future after I sell some of my bumpers and cheap Standard 45s. Maybe a fringe view, but I wish for heavier plates. Strength Co joked about 55s (because "fahves"), but that would honestly be a sweet spot for me. One or two pairs of hundos, two or three pairs of 45s, and eight or nine pairs of 55s would be my own personal Valhalla. For change I have the Titan Fitness color bumpers, including urethane 25s and 35s, which is super nice for cutting down on noise and looks just fine over iron.
I'm a big fan of 55s, too, and I'd love a Strength Co. version. A set with 1.25s, 2.5s, 5s, 2x10s and 25s would cover every weight from 2.5 to 107.5 pounds. Just add 55s to taste from there!
Gotta go with whichever one chips the least and is the easiest to handle. IMO, they are all easy on the eyes; I love the matte finish on the Kabuki plate, I used to hate the look of Strength Co's plate before learning to love it, and I definitely don't hate Rogue's plate. At this point in time, Strength Co's plate is easily my favorite. I would love to see their take on one with holes or slotted grips
Coop, I would love to see a video like this but based off the cheapo verizons LOL. As in the iron plates rep, rogue, and titan sell. I see those plates all over (I have the rep ones) and I think those are the ones the vast majority of people would buy as well. Keep it up!
4:01 “positives and benefits” hmm yes intriguing
Great review.
Will Strength Co. plates fit on a Marrs-Bar?
If you haven’t already, you should review poly grip plates. I bought some UMAX strength poly grip plates and haven’t looked back.
None of these brands available on my continent but Hey Its Coop so im here ...
Knurl mark rating is a cool idea ! 💡
Also more width means more storage space.
Shout out to the American Barbell rubber coated plates. I've been using them for a year and absolutely love them. There is nothing like having built in rubber handles on every plate. Quite a bit more expensive though.
Great review as always. I think that this video help convince me to go with The Strength Co. plates. I love the Rogue plates but even 2 years after this video has come out their change plates are still not available. On the website it says that they are out of stock but in reality, you cannot find them anywhere. Meanwhile, The Strength Co has come out with 100lbs and 1.25lbs plates to add to their set. Honestly that is the big selling point for me. I can't stand not having a complete set. Also, I believe that not having a machined back is a good thing. It makes wear and tear less noticeable.
A big oversight in comparing widths: That deep clanging sound when moving a bar with 4 or 6 plates....c'mon man....anyone who has benched the 6-pack knows, and loves, this sound.
@@georgedobbs9216 - yeah budday!
I live in the city right next to Strengthco so the price was in favor of them. Local pickup ftw! Also the actual fit on the bar of strengthco is really nice. Snug enough that you dont really need clips
Same for me... except Kabuki
This is the reason I'm leaning towards the stregnthcos! I live nearby for pickup and the shipping prices for weights are a lot lol
OC pride baby even though I’m in LA haha.
Nice comparison, Coop. I bit the bullet on Rogue 45s and 25s last night to replace my Rogue calibrated LB plates. Yeah, may sound crazy, but my kids work out in the garage now and I’m always worried that one of them will end up with a nice calibrated crushed foot.
Yo, are you selling calibrated 55lbs?
@@micahneely6542 I don’t have any 55s, but I’ll likely sell what I have when the deep dish plates get here.
When replacing rogue if they weight too much, do they just “trust” my scale or have specific testing requirements?
You should have reviewed York, one of the originals and still charge close to a dollar per pound!
Coop... can you do this same type of video but for bumper plates??
Hey Coop, do you think and do you have any info, whether rogue deep dish plates would be available in EU store (kg or even lb)?
I would say Troy Barbell and fitness has a 355lb plate set that sells for $520 with free shipping, manufacturer appears to be USA Sports, INC. would say at that price point we should start considering these options, as I have to scoff at paying 2$/lb, though i will say they do look nice its a tough sell for me even though I can afford it.
Makes me feel even better about my rogues
None were available when I was looking for plates. I ended buying the Troy wide flange plates. The only issue I've had with them is the 2" hole does not fit my westside barbell scout reverse hyper. What is your opinion of the Troy wide flange plates?
What are the coatings of these plates? If you made your own would you cerakote the plate to prevent rust?
I have Rogue deep dish 45s, 35s and 25s along with Strength Co 10s, 5s and 2.5s.
Once they hit a certain point of quality, all I care about is thickness, I want them as thin as possible
The thickest by...a margin...is rogue 😂😂😂 Very specific lol
Love all your videos Coop!!
Shipping is variable depending on your location, Kabuki is the farthest away so naturally they would be the most expensive.
Once again, Coop demonstrates his veteran status in the garage gym game by utilizing J cups to prop the plates up
I like the deep dish easy to grab. Rogue.
Why such a difference in shipping price? There’s only three major shippers. Oh! Great review Thanks.
Based on your video, i bought 6 rogue 45s and a set of strength co's change plates. Thanks Coop
Hey Tom, do the colors match between the Rogue and Strength Co?
@@shanedm3396 i would say yes. I will try and compare them side by side sometime
@@tomcastle7625 thanks Tom

@@tomcastle7625 thanks so much for doing that video, Tom. I pulled the trigger on some Strength Co 25s this morning, and will get some 45s next week. Knowing my compulsive self, I will eventually get some of the Rogue deep Dish plates too. USA ALL THE WAY
You should make a review for the EliteFTS American Cambered Grip Bar
I have one. I bought it because my shoulder was bothering me from benching a lot with a regular bar. To the point I developed an impingement in my left shoulder. It's been almost 6 months and I'm almost back to normal. I do competition bench once a week with a power bar and the other 2 bench slots are on the cambered bar. It's nice for rows as well. It's a good bar if you have some spare cash. It's not exactly inexpensive.
They are all gorgeous
Just want to throw out that the Elitefts Power bar has extra long sleeves. So if you are looking for more room on your bar and don't want to sell all of your Rogue plates, definitely check it out (I love mine)
Hey Man I'm not much of a beggar but its worth a shot. I have been watching you for a while now and I think your an amazing example of where I wanna be or how I wanna be when I am older. Now I'm not sure If I could ever look as good as you but I will for sure try! But the reason for this comment is because I am currently moving and the problem with that is I won't have access to any gym equipment except my one dumbbell someone gave me lol
but I have been trying to get a small gym in shed in the backyard of my small house I soon will be moving into but I don't have much money to spare, I don't even have a job(I'm 14 years old) So you might be wondering how can I help and the way I believe you can is to send me superrrrrr basic gym equipment what I am looking for is a simple rack just so I can do bench presses and squats safely and a barbell to complete those moves.
I KNOW this is a weird thing to ask but obviously my parents are not gonna understand the goals I have in life and well... you do( so I believe.) And this is probably the most desperate thing I have ever done in my life and I am doing this because just maybe you will hear me out.... look you are just amazing I know you are not the most famous youtuber but if you had as many subscribers as how many times I wish to have a small gym I think you be the most famous youtuber in the world. Just to help you understand my position I will give you a little scenario you know as a parent its probably one of your main goal to make sure your child has the best life and is just not wasting it on other things but since you workout I'm sure your kid will have no problem at all with achieving his goals but my parents would never understand.......
so just to cut it short I'm a big fan of your work and I hope you could here me out, if you wanna contact me about the items which are a (Rack, Barbell, weight plates, Adjustable dumbbells) which I only need a little weight. please contact me at this email: Jacobgillperez@protonmail.com
And I hope the best for you ! Bye!
Can we start getting a history of the design of gym equipment? Sort of like a History Channel How it's Made Coop edition?
Hey I dig this idea!
I have the strength co. Love them
If your already in California like my self the strengthco shipping isn't bad and makes it comparable to roge 25 bucks for shipping to my city
Nice review, Coop. To be clear, are the Strength Company plates machined on the INSIDE where they contact the barbell sleeve?
Correct
@@GarageGymReviews They look like my 30-year-old York USA iron plates, but my Yorks are in kilos.

I have a question what happens if I have a carpet what should I put on it? Horse mats? It’s carpet. And I wanted to buy tiles but then saw ur review.
i like bells of steal machine metal plates only 1.2 inch thickness for 45's and that's key to being able to fit all my plates on my rack on plate pegs
You should have added a category for availability. Doesn't matter how good anything is if you can't buy it.
Can you do one on bumpers. I got hg 2.0s and feel like a plug cuz I seen everyone else gets flecks and echo v2s.
Best plates I ever had were voit made in Taiwan they are thin heavy very strong are durable always left outside in sunny California
I was looking to get the Strength Co because they’re designed the same as vintage York plates but the back is not milled 🤦🏻♂️ Now I’m rethinking that decision.
What you get?
I went with Vulcan rubber coated oly plate that was $199 shipped for 45 plates (currently out of stock 🙄) but found them to be a better deal. Rep fitness sport bumpers and fringe sport bumpers look like just as good a deal as iron and maybe cheaper after shipping. Why buy iron anymore?
Maybe a bit of a stupid question. but are there any pros/cons to rubber plates. compared to iron
Being nitpicky but I feel the accuracy category is a bit unfair if only because you had the luxury of assessing Rouge's accuracy in a way you couldnt with StrengthCo or Kabuki. Not that any reasonable person would expect you to have multiple sets of each plates but I dont think it should factor in your decision when its not a variable you were able to control. Maybe give Kabuki a point since they were technically the most accurate in that test. But follow up with an asterisk noting that you've have enough sets of the Rouge plages to certify its accuracy?
But either way, it still wouldnt change the score and it was still a great honest assessment :D
What about Iron Grip plates? Overall I would still buy old York Olympic Plates (pre-1990) used.
Maybe Kabuki’s coating doesn’t chip over long term with the powder?
U should have done this with normal steel plates like how u did the best adjustable dumbbell
When’s the best adjustable dumbbells video coming?
Next Tuesday. It's a beast. I'm so freaking excited for it.

Thickness matters at some point, I'm strong enough that I can lift more than a bar full of echo bumpers, but reality is that you can get 675lb on the bar with the Rogue Deep Dish. More than most can lift - but yeah, thinner is better usually.
When is the force 🇺🇸 g20 review dropping?
Literally what ever is avaliable /video
Do you think Strength Co's package buy of 330lbs plates and a power bar for $1,000 is a good deal?
Can you compare rogue folding rigs and prx rack
I bought 3 pair of strength co's second run. they were all 46-47ish lbs measured on a bathroom scale.
Coop has our original "sample" plates. When we ran our first 20, yes just twenty plates so we could test. With a few adjustments, our plates are now between 44.6 - 45.4 99.9% of the time.
@@thestrengthco I like them heavy! I'm not complaining. Besides it's an exceptionally cheap scale.
When is Rogue going to put out a thin made in the USA plate like the Strength Co. ones?
Now
At the end of the day. Brand doesn’t matter one bit. You can have rusty old Ivanko’s or brand new fitness gear plates. Or the most expensive plates you can find. What matters is lifting them and completing your sets. Your muscles don’t know what brand of plate it is. Your muscles don’t know you bought them from a yard sale, all your muscles know is time under tension. Get what you can and use them.
I got rogue deep dish for 45s and 25s, and strength co for 10s and 5s
I’m thinking the same.
Wouldn't mind seeing York Barbell on this.
Where can I find your dial caliper that reads out in measuring tape?
