The Deep Dish Plates from Rogue Fitness are in. Let's unbox. Next, I'll review.
I've been waiting for the deep dish plates to come out and into my garage since they were announced. They're beautiful. Historically accurate. Made in the USA. And extremely hyped!
So, before we do our Rogue Deep Dish Plates Review, I first wanted to unbox them and give my first impressions as quickly as I could.

Coop flexing: here are the most rare plates in the world...
Flexing........again.
Not "rare-er" than my 1968 SOVIET (not Russian) stainless steel barbell, plates, and collars (they're all engraved with "CCCP").
@@sixpackbiz Cool story...
@@bmstylee those things are SWEET!
@@keysersoze5920 dude thats awesome i wish i could see those. The coolest thing i have is a soviet coin
It's genuinely frustrating seeing coop get all the newest and coolest equipment meanwhile we're over here in "out of stock" land using the "notify me" button that never actually notifies you about anything. For real tho love the vids and keep it up coop!!
Use the rogue stock bot!
It's in stock right now
Rogue stock bot texts u when it’s in stock, they had em 2 days ago idk about right now but I bought mine within minutes of them restocking thanks to that
1:10
In prison, 45 lb plates are called Cadillacs. Very fitting to be made in Cadillac Foundry Michigan.
Don't ask me how I know this.
No wonder I can’t get plates. You bought 10x45s🤦♂️
Wish I bought more tbh...
Serious question why do u want 10? Just for ur gym or the home gym? I thought you wouldn't need any more because of the amount you already have, BTW yes am jealous that I only need 4 20kg plates for my home gym cos am weak 😔
@@GarageGymReviews my order was so large that it was cancelled. I pooled with people for a big order, but Rogue flagged it as suspicious. They offered a reduced amount of plates, but none of us were going to be happy so we opted to cancel. Hopefully it won't be an issue later when the supply is strong. Our order was over $5k to get free shipping, and maxed the Hundo discount. Nothing bad to say about Rogue. They were nice, but it was a bummer. I don't use the stock bot, so I wasted a couple of days refreshing for nothing.
@@fevzay9315 damn man that’s messed up sorry to hear that. I’d be pissed lol
@@joseg5913 Yeah, I wasn't happy but I understand their position. They're dealing with a lot of resellers trying to buy up stock to gouge people, and they wouldn't have a way to differentiate between a group order or someone scheming. I'm hopeful that it won't be a problem when things turn back to normal (eventually).
Rogue notification: We have new 45lbs plates available.
38 seconds later, the product you want is not available at this time.
Coop: I have 10!
💯
Haha yes! As much as I love this channel, that did piss me off to be honest.
Nobody:
Coop: * drops thousands on more weight than he can even lift*
Yeah what annoys me is he literally has no results to show for all the equipment he has
@@kaiphan6335 Because hes just trying to be healthy that's what most people have home gyms for. ITs not to be a powerlifting god or strong man. Hes enjoys crossfit more Im pretty sure.
Solid fucking plates, looking forward to the review! Crazy to think I left a troll comment on this channel over a year ago... Coop promptly responded by putting me in my place, and I've been a subscriber/fan ever since 😂
I’m impressed by how smooth the edges are. For the money, these USA made plates are unbeatable. 🇺🇸
I love how coop pretends to find the 100's heavy so us mere humans don't feel insignificant in his presence
Thank you for getting the 35s. I love the look of these, but would think they'd be more of a bother when it comes to loading 585+. Also I don't know if I could ever part from the convenience of the six shooters for gripping and picking up.
6-shooters all the way Brandon
35 lb plates are a waste of space and money. You will already have 2 pairs of 10’s and a pair of 25’s, you don’t need 35’s.
I agree, if I didn't already have shooters as well I would've probably ordered the deep dish. Love the old school look, but the convenience of grip hole is what sells the shooters IMO
I like the 6-shooters but one of my pair of 45s has an inner hole diameter that is too small fit on olympic barbells.
@@Applefanatic1000 call rogue out on it... they’ll probably replace it free of charge.
People who train with deep dish cast iron are the 1% super priviliged people in the world.
The feel, the sound, the vintage look.
Love the rippetoe insert
Thanks for adding the grunting sound effects, Coop, when you lifted the Hundos. Makes us mere-mortals feel normal.
They are nice! I like the Starting Strength Hoodie and the Mark Rippetoe cameo. That was a nice touch. Always remember 8 fingers are better than 2 thumbs ,lol.

Thanks to Coop for the interesting reviews and honest assessments of equipment! Your videos are helpful, informative, and fun to watch. The one where you do a bunch of Big Lifts/PRs, and then spontaneously give a motivational speech about life and priorities -- simply awesome! Loved it! I sold a barely-used video game console on eBay, and sent the money to Rogue for a pair of these 45s. Factoring in shipping, and what's (not) available on Craigslist right now, these Rouge plates were actually one of the cheaper options I could find. Love that they are made of ductile iron. Needed a pair of 45s at this time, in my progressions. Ordered a month ago. Excited to eventually get these on my barbell and going up and down.
I just received both the Rogue deep dish plates in 25 and 35 denominations, and The Strength Co. 25s and 10s. Both are made in the USA. Both are exceptional plates. Advantage of The Strength Co. is that you can purchase them from 2.5 up to 45 pounds, so you can get a full set. They are also offering them with a short lead time. Downside is their shipping cost as they come from California. Rogue plates have a mirror-like finish on the sides and back; the Strength Co. plates have a better feel with the grip and may be cooler looking. Can't go wrong with either.
They should come out with a chromed version for 3x the price like ivanko. Somebody would buy them. The surfaces are smooth and looked primed for chrome plating. (Just the lips and back of course.)
I like that they are made in the USA. I wish that Rogue would make some very thin plates in the USA, especially 10 lb plates for my loadable dumbbell.
This seems like a good start.
@@bmstylee Yes.
Consider yourself lucky that these arrived on a pallet and we're packaged so nicely. I ordered a thousand pounds of these and was told by a Rogue customer service representative they would ship parcel. What a joke! It appears that there is a double standard regarding Rogue's shipping policy during this pandemic. I subsequently cancelled my order and will wait for calibrated plates to come back in stock.
1000lbs of calibrated plates would cost a second mortgage.
1:48 I need a compilation of all the times Coop “woots”
The most anticipated Rogue releases of the year are when ppls orders are actually in stock and shipped to them.
Damn!...sweet!...most ppl will not understand our excitement/appreciation for stuff like this!...

Metal plates are the best.
I love the kaklang noise!
Shortage in Europe on power gear. Loved how ATX fitness gear looked. ordered at an official distributor. Got ripped off. Never received the stuff. Everything seemed legit. Be careful people with online purchases!!! 💪💪💪
I think that I am glad I waited to buy my steel plates. I’ve had an alert on these for a while, still waiting!
The other thing I’m still waiting for is the adjustable dumbbell review!!
Coop looks like the most approachable elementary P.E teacher.
You’re the man Coop. Very insightful as usual. I’m on the waiting list for some deep dish. Even though I have only bumper plates in my garage gym, these would be an awesome addition. Thanks again!
I'm glad these are out. Less competition for the six shooters.
Rogue should use this as a commercial for their plates.
After watching this, I'm still lovin' my old school Ivanko deep dish plates... all 1380lbs of them.
Great video dude. Sorry you have to deal with all the people hating on you for buying plates and then publishing a review consumed for free by 30k + individuals.
They are nice looking but after a week the novelty has worn off and they’re just plates.
I do wonder what the advantage of a deep dish is. They just take up more room.
This is the same with all plates, you just need some that are going to last and if they are matching and look good it’s just a plus
@@jacobjoshua2394 After listening to Coop's explanation, as a powerlifter, I don't think they are necessary for me. I thought the deep dish had to do with making it easier to carry with fingers or something similar. Bumper plates seem to have eliminated the need for deep dish... maybe?
@@sidneybales9062 Agree. For the same thickness bumper plates are the best for home gyms. No need to build a platform, just a good stall mat.
@@sidneybales9062 Strongly disagree. Outside of Olympic lifts, I don't see the point to bumper plates. Nothing beats iron. I still use plates that my dad bought used in the 70s. My grandchildren will be able to use them twenty years from now.
I was able to snag some 45s. Do we know if Rogue with any certainty yet - i know you have a direct line to commish Bill H at Rogue ;) - if 10s, 5s, 2.5s will be made. Understand not now as they can’t keep these in stock at the moment. My ocd wants to have a matching set.
Cool videos Coop really like them. Have a nice day and keep on the good reviewing! Thx from Belgium
Damn so you are the guy who took them all! Really wanted to get some of these. Thanks for the review!
Damn I love the look, especially the shiny smooth edges and back. Wish that there was something similar for Europe
Those are awesome! If I didn’t have the 6 shooter plates I’d be interested.
Beautiful Plates 💪🏼💪🏼
Was the e-coat & machining similarly wonky on the other 100# plate?
I ordered some of the e-coat KBs from Rogue and one of them had a terrible e-coat on one side which Rogue gave me a credit for. I am tempted to order a couple pairs of 100# plates but am afraid of getting another crap e-coat on all or half the plate. I understand it doesn't impact the function on a plate but I like new items to look new, and if they're damaged from my own wear & tear I'm good with that.
Thanks for doing these reviews 👍
I wonder if the machine that make that plate is made in USA or not.. if not, does the plate still count for made in USA?
Coop does that pocket knife have knurling on it?
Can you post a link to where you bought that scale?
Just received two 45s and two 25s. One of each showed up damaged. Hope Rogue takes care of it.
For the review can you put as many 45s as possible on one side of the barbell to show us how many will fit?
They are 2” wide. My bars have sleeves slightly less than 16”. You can fit 7 on each side without collars or perhaps spring collars.
All 100lb plates are beautiful !
I picked up a set 100s and 6 45s and set of 25s
Most people buy hundos so they can fit more weight on the bar. Kind of weird that they would make hundos that are extra deep.
Coop! Any opinions on the Rogue Powerblock Cart? is it possible to add attachments to it?
I think they would look great in my garage gym. 32x12 shed
single tear drops. they're beautiful
Rogue's plate packaging is pretty great.
Lmao
Do the 45s ding louder than the traditional iron plates during deadlifts? The deep dishes' lips seem to help with resonation/vibration.
I like how you plugged the like button but didn't beg for a like in the middle of the video.
These are dope plates, I have a big decision to make between these and urethane.
big difference between rogue and walmart type plates?
Ah. These plates look amazing! Thanks for the review.
Got nothing on my CAP's
I keep coming back to the video and watching it again, and again, and again (you’re welcome Coop) why can’t these be in stock!? How can we have such unbelievable supply issues, do we have a unusual demand on steel in America?
These are made of iron. No widespread supply issues. There is just a high demand for these specific Rogue plates. Rogue only has so much bandwidth to process orders.
Love the fact they will replace them free of charge! I have welded and machined before so being accurate is very important but also very tedious
Do you find the coating rubbing off on your bars?
What's a good accurate scale to weigh your weights on Coop?
They look great trying to get a set, Covid kinda set me back.
To all the people complain about Coop getting equipment that you have not been able to get, maybe you should buy thousands of dollars of equipment each year and do reviews on your UA-cam channel with almost 200k subscribers. Then maybe you will be lucky enough to get the stuff you want.
Definitely need to try get me a pair of these
Coop would be great if you compared the weight of Rogues, Troy, Rep Fitness and Titan plates.
Where did you buy that scale can you give me a link? Thx
Hey Coop...have you tried/reviewed Vulcan Strength Iron plates? I've only purchased their hex dumbbells, which are great quality.
Are these just a black version of the deep dish they already sold?
My rogue 100lbs deep dish are much smoother on the rim than yours. I wonder if they refined the process a bit. That being said, they are super hard to pick up since they’re so smooth, but they look awesome.
awesome review...can you review the texas power bars starting strength car? perhaps compare to normal power bar or ohio power bar. love ya brother
Where is that link for the Arnold Plates? It's cool to think that Shaw and Sevickus may have used those
Guarantee is even better. It's actually +2/-0. Definitely considering these myself....if I get can myself to switch from KG plates
For me it doesn't matter. I'm fluid in kgs an lbs. When in doubt google exists to convert for those who can't convert on the fly.
@@bmstylee it doesn't matter to me either. The issue is I already have a full set of plates in KG....I want one or the other, not a mix
@@wsmoran I wish there were more kg options outside of calibrated plates and competition bumpers.
I've just started watching the video but uhh... you doing a giveaway on these?
Please my wife will castrate me if I buy these lmao.
I got some new Standard Barbell plates last week from Rogue and a couple of them had some bad imperfections. I feel a bit shit for paying full price for something that should have been a factory second but I guess with use they'll get banged up anyway. Maybe in the future I'll sandpaper and re-paint 'em.
i really like the new set up
I just got (8) 45’s and only weighed two, first was 47.7 pounds and and second was 46.6 pounds. I will weigh rest tomorrow. How do they replace? U have to send back, do they send boxes etc?
Do cast iron plates require any maintenance?
How long do I put it in the oven for and at what temp.
I’m guessing since they’re wider, they might cause the bar to flex a little more, maybe after 405lbs? That could be a cool test, especially with a deadlift bar.
Any word on how soon they might have more?
Well I guess that explains why my Weider plates are deep dish because it used to belong to an Olympic lifter from back in the day. I wasn't aware of that.
2:45 look at those scratches!
One of my 45s arrived with serious scratches across the entire back of one plate
A weight is a weight when on the bar what ever is cheaper is better 👌
Those look amazing!
How long did it take them to ship to you
Arrived in perfect condition.
I can’t wait. I’ll be ordering 4 pairs of the 45s
Are you going to do any give away or even sell some weights?
Can u do a review on the rep pr 1100 I’m not sure if I should buy it and there are not reviews on it
Unless you're moving massive weight it will do what you need. I picked one up at the start of lockdown and love it. I did get the extended weight storage to make it more stable but I don't think it's necessary. There is also a titan rack with the same size uprights, so you have options for attachments.
They look sick!!!
Love ya Ccop!
Thank you!
is it correct thats a pair price on their Shop ?
I think powerful lifters would opt for a few 100# plates if they are going over normal human lifting.
Looking thicc Coop! Keep it up
Chicago style!
🍕
If it's Chicago style does it come with a bird and a chopper?
Are you planning a video on 2020 Black Friday deals?
Plates need to have cut outs in the rim to make it easy to pick up when lying flat on the ground
Moustache game is lookin strong 💪!!
I wonder how long it took him to get his order in I’m still waiting on mine
