- This performance of Had a Dream from Roger Hodgson is from a September 3, 2014 show in Hanau, Germany and is the first time Roger performed the song live. Had a Dream has long been a fan favorite and is frequently requested. This fun, rocking classic is from Roger's 1984 album, In the Eye of the Storm, which was called "the lost Supertramp album" by one reviewer.
Roger's utmost mastery of songwriting and vocals very brightly glows on this release. He periodically performs several other songs in concert from the album such as "In Jeopardy," "Only Because of You," and "Lovers in the Wind." This spectacular album is available directly from the artist through Roger's store at www.rogerhodgso.... You can also download the album from iTunes: apple.co/1KeUFyl
After co-founding Supertramp in 1969, Roger was the driving force behind what fans call the 14 golden years of the band. He wrote, sang, and arranged the enduring rock standards that made Supertramp a worldwide phenomenon with album sales in excess of 60 million. Roger gave us the timeless classics such as Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, School, Dreamer, The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, It's Raining Again, Fool's Overture, and so many more. Although Roger and Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own respective songs. www.rogerhodgso....
See Roger live in concert. He is currently on tour performing shows with full band, symphony orchestra, and solo and selling out shows around the world. Every concert is a powerful emotional journey and Roger's passion for his music and his art shines through in the magic and intimacy that is felt by the audience. We invite you to come to a show and see why each and every one of Roger's concerts receives spectacular reviews from media and fans alike. For tour details, visit www.RogerHodgso... or / rogerhodgson

Just when you thought a Roger Hodgson song could not match anything he wrote and sang with Supertramp. This is just pure genius and perfection.
ok, made me think . probably right. hmm when when you think about it? Sort of sad!
INDEED

Finally, after 30 years we get to hear this underrated masterpiece LIVE, and sounding just as good as the album (as always for Roger.)

My favourite song from In the Eye in the Storm has been finally played live! Superb classic!
Ae
Dear Roger, I hope you will read that: Your Music, especially the "In the Eye of a Storm" saved my life, when I was down and completely alone. Truely. I saw you and your Band in Munich and it was the best Concert in my Life. If I would ever meet you, I truely would fall of my Knees and just sayin "Thank you!". The "In the Eye of a Storm" is one of the 3 Albums that I would take on an Island if I have only 3 to choose. And one of that would be "Symphony Nr. 9" from Beethoven.
I can see there's 2 people that are either completely tone deaf or just plain hate life. How can you possible give this song a thumbs down. WoW!! Must be Justin Queer fans.......
Queer peps are amazing so Shush
Music trolls.
WOW! 😳
Amazing!!! What a great performer... This is a very hard song to perform live and Roger absolutely nailed it!!! His voice is better now than it was 30 years ago... The MAN is ageless
Exactly.
Roger one of the worlds best .....each song has an important message.
From true reflection & experience .
I was born in 67' He started in 69' I probably discovered him at age 9-10 have been a fan ever since .
He took me across Canada and to the Carribean he's always been in my music when I travelled . A comforting voice of reason. Each time I travelled I let others hear him too. Priceless times ....
I have caught him 3 times and sure would like to see him again if the Gods are willing to line up the Stars .
I think of a John McCuchon song ..
Been a longtime traveling. Here below been a long travelling away from my home .... May we always meet again till the last note fades away ...
The world really could use a lot more Roger Hodgson & Supertramp HQ videos

Almost had to hold in my tears watching this from amazement and respect. This song is my childhood I listened to it everyday during the summer nights my mom recorded this for me off a record player, I can't even describe how nostalgic this song is and I am so happy to see it finally getting the respect it truly deserves. Thank you Roger.
Had a dream, I was born, in a new beautiful world...That's what I feel listening this music!
WOW!! This is one of my all time favorites, reminds me of my high school days. Thanks for the live video.
Journey
Journey.
While working at A&M records I was fortunate enough to meet Roger both with Supertramp and as a solo artist.great person and showman.
Hey wait…I worked there too…which department did you work in?
This and It's Raining Again should be played at each and every show.
Stumbled upon this recently and watch at least once a day.
Super Roger Hodgson
My favorite artist
I adore you since the 70's.
My eyes was on you and still are until now !!!
Love this song, sounds so much like the old Supertramp style.
Definitely
It is
Roger ,first heard in about late 70s witth Dreamer , I'm now 83 and l still listen to Roger ,its a bit more classical now but l still remember those days ,of Dreamer and the people who were there enjoying his music
What memories it evokes, thank you Roger for your music and the memories l will mever forget Supertramp
I can relate so much to this song. I was born in 1963, one of the worst winters on record. In a sense I was born naked in the eye of storm. That is why this song means so much to me.
had a Dream ..but it was real my Son came to the concert many years post my capture of this moment ..
Roger played this favorite in Stockholm in 2019. One of many highlights during the evening.
Oooh to be there 😊
This song came out after he left Supertramp on his first Solo-album. Saw him on monday this week performing it with his great band here in Berlin and it was a highlight of the wonderful concert.
Afternoon everyone Roger Hodgson is a class act he is the man bravo Roger Hodgson God bless you sir xxx xxx ur brilliant fabulus wonderfully love you always xx sir ur simply the best WOW wicked WOW wow xxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxx
Had a dream I was born
To be naked in the eye of the storm
And now it's standing right in front of me
What's it going to do to me, who knows,
Had a dream it was time
To be taken to the front of the line
Well that is not a place you wanna be
Sleeping with the enemy, you know
I don't care what the future brings
Give a damn about anything
I'd be fine if they'd only leave me alone.
But it's time - gotta take a stance
'Cause I won't get a second chance
And I know now I have to make it alone
Had a dream it was war
And they couldn't tell me what it was for
But it was something they could lie about
Something we could die about, you know
Anytime, anyplace
When you look that man in the face
Well it is not a face you wanna see
Sleeping with the enemy, you know
Mary, can you hear me
Can you tell me what it's all supposed to mean
Holding out a photograph of all that I have seen
I wish I could hold you
I wish I could hold you
Had a dream it was time
To be a witness at the scene of the crime
Well, That is something you can analyse
Something you can criticise, who knows
So we wait, hesitate
And we're making such a mistake
Oh whatever can the matter be
Sleeping with the enemy, you know
I don't care what the future brings
Give a damn about anything
I'd be fine if they'd only leave me alone
But it's time, gotta take a stance
'Cause I won't get a second chance
And I know now I have to make it alone

Thank you so much for all the effort 🙏👏
Amazing. I saw Supertramp several times in the 80's. It was always a superb show. I am seeing Mr. Hodgson tomorrow night and can hardly wait!!!!! Excited!
Ho visto il concerto e la gente non stava più ferma ,uno dei tanti concerti tra i più belli👏👏👏
I was just blown away...
Hi Roger, I saw you with Supertramp on July 28th, 1979 in Ottawa! FANTASTIC concert. Love all of your music, but my favourites, in order are "Fool's Overture" - "Crime of the Century" - "School". You led with "School" and finished with "Fools Overture" and encored with "Crime of the Century". WOW!!! I was 22 at the time, now I'm 57 and I'm going to see you on Dec. 8th, 2015 back here in Ottawa, finally!!! Can't wait. Your music transcends generations!!!!
I am in debt with Roger. I will be always grateful. Almost every day i listen Rossie, Travelled or Have a dream, etc, and I FELL so much!!
Thank you very much and sorry for my english from Spain
I'm very excited to know that MY FAVORITE SONG has been played alive for the first time, this is just a masterpiece.
He knew what his dream was of the cosmic universe...the truth about life...this man was and is the most talented artist we will ever come by today in 2023
Saw the Great Roger last night in the Palladium. Absolutely brilliant - His music is the soundtrack of my life
One most underrated UK singer songwriter…..listen to this full volume it will make your day …..heroic.
Roger, PLEASE come back to the Midwest USA, we MISS YOU. Can't wait to hear your inspirational songs again this Spring 2018! We saw you a few times this 2017 and every show was more special than the first! Happy Thanksgiving!
Einfach nur herrlich !❤❤❤ GROßARTIG Roger/ Supertramp. 👍🎼🎸🎼🎸🎼✌
I first saw the music video when I was in 5th grade. I remember being mesmerized by it.
This band should be in the music Hall of Fame
I love this song. It’s kind of tear jerker for me hearing it today. It reminds me of my husband and I years ago. He’s been gone a while now. I still cry and scream, “why?”.
hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here
When I heard Supertramp for the first time , I was 11 ; I was watching T.V. very late , a saturday evening : the band was giving a concert , and I can't remember where ... I suddenly fell in love when Rodger sang "Fool's overture" ! Now I'm 43 , and I'm discovering "Had a dream" with a huge happiness ! Thank you very much for that
Incredible....Fantastic. Roger Hudgson for ever. Thaks Roger.
That was fun! Took me back to 1984 when I was 13 and listened to this on my Walkman. And here I am 39 years later sitting in my living room in Grass Valley and just learned this song was originally recorded in Nevada City (5 miles away from here). Thank you, Roger and wonderful band.
I lived 200 miles away
Ironically, I now live about 2 miles away but much too much too late.
Mr. Roger Hodgson… May I call you SIR Roger Hodgson… You are a KNIGHT of Creativity and Music and for this I salute you! You have created in me a love of music in which I now share with the world! Not hiding in my shell!
Roger Hodgson is the Big Beast!
So unknown. , had a dream ... only some of us did. How many in 2019? Best piano piece and Roger Hodgson piece ever.
La musique de Supertramp avec M, je ne connaissais pas....... mais je n'ai pas été déçue........... C'était parfait (je dois avouer être fan des 2) , merci les surprises de la vie !!!!!!!!
Feeling the love in the USA . Thank you Rodger.
hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here
Roger, Bravo 🎹🎼🎷🎻🎸🎶🎵🎙
I'da given my left one to have been there for this!!!
What a musical Icon -
Saw Roger and the band in Detroit. Couldn't believe they performed this song. Awesome show.
Yes ,Yes & Yesss, this is pure energy transmitted through a song ... Had a Dream ... thanks Roger !!
Awesome song! One of my absolute favorites from the '80s. Great guitar work by Roger.
He's in great voice....I love when a live performance sounds just like the original...over 30 years ago..
Nice to see Roger playing electric guitar. Most of the concert footage I've seen of him he's either playing electric piano or acoustic guitar. But Roger was a pretty descent lead guitar player when he was with Supertramp many years ago.
He still sounds so good. Usually older singers have to tune down.. But not Roger..
Crazy crazy great tune !!!!! .. great sound ! .. & I love this particular video because it gives you the chance to see all of these incredible musicians play. ..love, love, love this song !!!!! .. You HAVE to see them " Live " a show you will without any doubt want to go back too :)
Ontem em São Paulo foi uma verdadeira apoteose, o Espaço das Américas aplaudiu de pé quase todas as músicas. Vibrante demais!!!!!
we will never get another one like him, great talent
I NEVER understood WHY he always resisted playing this song. It's my 2nd favorite song of his EVER , ONLY BECAUSE OF YOU is my first.
Thank you for all the music you gave to me,most of the time in tears lissening fools overture.Keep on writing love the lyrics.ur the best
I already bought my tickets for the show in Florianópolis on March 16th. Uhhhuuulll!
I had a dream that this song would someday be performed live. You sir are awesome!
Splendid!!! I loved this song back in the day and great job! Roger Hodgson is one of those performers who sound so great live. GJ!!! TY Roger!!!
driving through the forest of Washington state as a teen, had it so good listening and singing to Roger. He will never know how biggest fan I'am and still go to his tours, I'm so lucky, Still ...
Amazing performance, esp. being a first time "LIVE" . This song , to me , is so ingrained with the video that was released with it, back in good ol 1984 (what a great year and time). Excellent video, even today it still stands up , IMO. Long Live Roger Hodgson !!
Absolutely wonderful. Roger Hodgson is "the voice" of supertramp. I love it.
Love this first song from his first solo album In The Eye Of The Storm!Fantastic song!
One of the best songs of all time. Great job
Absolutely awesome Roger and band!!
Wow! That kicks all sorts of ass! FANTASTIC!
Brian Waldie just awesome as it was in 85
This is an amazing song and I remember it getting a lot MTV attention when i was in high school. Interesting thing is, I also recall RH getting run through the wringer for leaving Supertramp, being selfish, trying to be something he's not going solo etc. I liked this song when it came out but I love it now! The video was textbook classic 80s and the song itself is brilliant! This was a much happier and far more creative time in music!🤘
J'ai vu ce show il y a quelques années.... MAGNIFIQUE, un des meilleurs concert que j'ai vue de ma vie. Merçi Roger et ton merveilleux band!
He replicates all of his songs beautifully live. Great job here! Almost as good as the studio version.
He really does. I say it all the time.
Sorry husband, I'll get you dinner when I am done listening to Roger.
A girl with her priorities. Love it.
Tell him to make his own fucking sandwich bitch!
LET HIM MAKE HIS OWN DINNER....IT'S 2022 NOT 1577......💖
I do both at the same time, both turned out beautifully 😂🤣
@@tubeyou89119 yea…but Trolls are only copying and pasting the same rubbish from a thousand other videos
Sensacional !!!
Sou de 1953 e garanto que foi uma bela performance.
... You Are A Wonderful Was-er And Is-er Mr.RogerHodgson ... Your Was-ing And Is-ing Is Eternally Present In Every Generation That Ever Was, Is Or Will Be ...
I remember roger got us all up from our seats to dance to this Sydney January 2019 what a night 💋
I like the melodies, the lyrics, the vocals and the arrangements of the songs.
Pour l'avoir vu en Live à l'Olympia au premier rang, avec "des Potes à Moi que j'avais"..... Je vous assure que ce morceau de Mr Hodgson est tres puissant et innoubliable 🎤🎶🎸🎹🎷
Roger Hodgson Forever and Ever.
At long last!!!!! It was worth the long wait. Can't wait to hear this when Roger and the band come to the East Coast in November.
Terrific - what else can you say about something as amazing as this. A wonderful piece of music performed by a gifted musician whose concerts are always stunning and leave a smile on the people´s face. Continue touring, Roger!

' 'Had a Dream' was one of the highlights of Roger's performance at The Royal Albert Hall - 'The More I look' must return - also 'Desert Love' which is a 'Little Bit' different.......
