Man, your content is a true inspiration for me. I love the way you dig into the very core of any given topic and make a whole system out of a single concept. I make drum-ed videos myself and look up to such intelligent educators as you are. Thank you for your work and keep it goin'!

More concepts like this please Nate. Gary Chester's 'Territorial Rights' plus rudiments/stickings, is the way to go. You da man. :)

This is a great lesson on general flow around the kit! Really helpful to concetualize it this way, getting around the kit and creating cool voicing feels clearer to me now. Thanks for the lessons!

One of my favorite ways to end the ending after the last big crash is a four stroke ruff on the floor tom and kick: RLRK

I love doing similar, but the ruff is RLKK for me

@@joshy676 is there a name for that fill?? I can do those really fast. Way faster than I can do a roll with my hands or feet.

@@MassholeDrums I’m sure everyone’s got a different name for it. I know that, when you string RLKK together (or RLRLKK or RLKKKK for a 6-note grouping), it’s commonly called “falling rocks” because that’s the effect, particularly when you spread the voicings from the snare up or down the toms

Okay, so I did an extensive 23 second search on the internets and haven't been able to find a consensus on the spelling of bu-geh-da. Bu-gid-ah? Buh-ge-dah?

Hey Nate, back in the day you had this pdf called the roadmap with a concept called heuristic beat. Do you still have a copy of that? I recently lost my copy and wanted to get into it again.

not trying to be overly critical, but I notice you don't play with a lot of power. Is this intentional, and why if so?

anyway, I'll skip to the end, since I have to go get on some coaching calls. Please double check that you emailed the correct email address - nate@8020drummer.com . If you didn't, super simple. Just email us so we know who you are. (We can't locate you just from a youtube comment.) If you *did* email us at that address, please just forward your original email to us so it's at the top of our inbox. I've let Eoin know to be on the lookout. Please also specify *what* you're subscribed to that you'd like to cancel. Thanks!

I've always called them crash and burn endings. I really gotta work on them. Since I started playing again I've been really terrible at them. Used to be okay at it other than totally ripping off how Danny Carey does them LOL
I think it helps to have a double bass setup. Or at least I find it a bit easier. Especially the double bass version of what you do at 3:55 . Not sure what those are called
