It's amazing how much you know about the Yu-Gi-Oh Anime and how little you know about the actual card game at the same time.
It's normal in this community. You know a lot about the card game but not about the anime OR you know a lot about the anime but not about the card game.

The Reason Magi Magi Magician girl wasn't printed in the tcg was because Takahashi held the rights to the art and refused to alter it so Konami couldn't censor it
Mabye if it release a second art version of magi magi magician girl it is good for it can go to TCG.

And the dumb part about the censorship thing is that it is not even required that Konami censor some of the things they do. This has become clear with the "lost art" reprints which would not be possible if the appropriate parties actually mandated they originally be altered. We may never know all of which cards were just Konami being Konami.
I'm pretty sure the DM Timeline Split has to do with the fact that in the Manga, Seto is not present for the Duel between Atem and Yugi, so therefore never gets any closure and continues to search for ways to finally beat the Pharaoh, leading to the events of Dark Side of Dimensions. In the anime where Seto is present for the duel, he gets more closure that the Pharaoh is actually gone. This leads him to focus more on KC and it's advancements and putting more time into Duel Academy.
All timeline convergence and divergence _always_ centers on Kaiba...
The events during the end of the millennium world arc in the manga were also different. Primarily involving the appearance of Holactie.
What makes it confusing is that the Japanese version of DSOD, it’s canon to the manga, and not the anime, but the English version is canon to the anime and not the manga.
@@thisissparta789789 Apropriate of a 4Kids dub that Kaiba backslide in character development just to make a movie Canon to the anime.
Schwig The timeline split happened at the start of Duel Monsters and it continued through the whole series contradicting the manga because Gallop rebooted the series due to it being influenced by the Konami and its card game that released the year before and not adapting important info from the manga. They were still adapting from the manga because its an adaptation of it, but they changed so much stuff while doing it. Bakura was part of the group at the start of DK arc and goes with him to find out more about the Ring from Pegasus. The anime made him sneak to DK and reintroduce Yami Bakura to them. Kaiba was reintroduced, and so was Shadi using plot from past manga chapters. Pegasus tells Yami Yugi that the items have an evil intelligence in them after Yami Yugi beats him. This caused YY to not use the powers of the puzzle no more because he didn't want to prove Pegasus right. The anime staff left that out and he simply stops using it without explanation.

Fun Fact: The Kamakiri cards aren't actually connected & aren't an archetype. #1 is called Dragonfly & #2 is called Flying Mantis in the OCG.

Magic rule was changes to Spell rule and magic cards was changes to spell cards.
About Zarc in the first episode I think what it meant that Zarc did the dueling for Yuya against Strong Ishijima. When Yuya did his first pendulum summon. We can notice that during that time Yuya stops his entertainment and starts play aggressive kinda like Zarc who used his pendulum scales to block his opponents from doing anything. After this whole thing Yuya doesn’t remember how to do the summoning and just learns it from the TV.
not to mention how yuya's first line when pendulum summoning for the first time said a ver zarc line (my monster servants)

I think "But you still take damage," got REALLY popular in the Arc-V era because that shit happened so many times you could turn it into a Drinking Game and be sent to the Shadow Realm by the time Yuya and Shingo have their second duel.
"You summoned your mom" is a quote from Yuma in his duel with "the sparrow" a boy that once infected with a number card, believed he was a real superhero. Yuma says the quote when the sparrow summons "number 81: galaxy queen", a monster with a striking resemblance to the sparrows real mother.
And this was in the original dub as well?
The lines is the so funny 🤣 YUGIOH lines of all time.

OMG there's some that Dyl skipped that i wanna talk about (not the card game related ones):
- *"i summon man-eater bug in attack position"* it's from a Yugioh GX videogame, can't remember which one but basically it became a meme in the community where Zane does that move after he says the line "I make no mistakes", yeah xD
- *Konami references in cards* so they made tons of yugioh cards that were references to a lot of Konami videogames, from Gradius and Ultimate Baseball to Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid.
- *KaibaCorp's war crimes* most of us know that before Seto took over the company, KaibaCorps was originally in the war business building weapons and tanks to sell them to other nations.
- *Priest Seth betrayal* this one has to do with the original ancient egypt timeline where ancient egypt version of seto kaiba betrayed Atem after the death of Kisara, and the sole reason why the tablet showed multiple times in the anime existed... probably the origin of Yugi and Kaiba's rivalry.
- *Wizards and Magic* was the original name for the card game in the anime given by Pegasus (yes, big reference to Magic the gathering) before it was changed to Duel Monsters
- If the *Kizuna Ai in Vrains* is what i think it is, it means that the vtuber Kizuna Ai, either had a cameo in Vrains or she voice acted one filler character on the show. Nothing i can confirm tho, haven't found anything on the topic.
- I'm pretty sure Dylan did talk about it but didn't explained it, but the "Mokuba survives a lethal dose of poison" is one of the games in the manga where yugi, jonouchi and mokuba played russian roulette with food and in the end Mokuba lost that game by eating a poisoned burger. (fun fact: that's the reason why the card Hungry Burger exists and is one of Mokuba's cards in duel links)

Something I learned about is that zero reverse is apparently theoretical scientifically accurate. Without going too deep into quantum mechanics, basically Moment (or Ener-D) is based on the successful application of perpetual energy, albeit with a bit of duel monsters Magic as the reason for it being successful. The theory behind moment is that the reason the energy can sustain itself is due to the energy generated by synchro summoning (which is actually an extremely subtle reference to nuclear fission or something), however due to the boom in popularity of synchro monsters, too much energy was produced, causing the energy to catch up to itself and result in a phenomenon called inversion (I.e zero reverse) where all the excess energy couldn’t be controlled and due to its nuclear nature ended up causing the space around it to destabilize, resulting in tragedy. If you want the video that goes more in depth on it (assuming you haven’t seen it) it’s called something like “how kaiba invented synchro summoning”
So...Zero Reverse could pretty much be seen as the Yugioh equivalent to the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown? Minus the actual radiation bit.

The Swedish 🇸🇪 version of YUGIOH have only seasons 1 and 2 was to Swedish 🇸🇪. Type PaniK on the Swedish 🇸🇪 version of YUGIOH use Japan 🇯🇵 name Killer but it is on the 4kids dub version. It have not release more Swedish 🇸🇪 version of YUGIOH or other YUGIOH series. I live south part of Sweden 🇸🇪 on a town Markaryd and i is Swedish 🇸🇪. Doubt you'll see this, but the Guardian Elma one refers to the fact that it is currently the only yugioh card that exists which is completely legal but literally impossible to summon. The card needed to summon it (butterfly dagger elma) is banned because it's a really abuseable and broken card, but it MUST be played to summon Guardian Elma.
I wonder tho, is it possible to summon it through secondary means? A lot of softbanned cards are.
@@lpfan4491 Technically you can set, but th only way to get it face up is to have an opponents monsters run into it or have a card that specifically flips a card up (without flip summoning). So it is technically possible I guess, lol.
There is also neo bubbleman, you need to use metamorphosis in a e hero bubbleman, but metamorphosis is banned

The infamous Nekroz trap. Nekroz of Clausolas can search Nekroz spells and traps, but there was never a Nekroz trap printed. To this day I wait for one.
Least Cyberdarks will get a Trap.

you skipped the italian GX Dub in level 3, and its a story that is scary. Correct me if i'm wrong, it talks about a guy who murdered his neighbor and the neighbor's wife on some years ago, and when the police was coming and arresting him, it was said in the news and witnesses that he was humming the italian GX dub while listening to the orders of the cops. You can find a short clip of it on twitter where someone posted it last year where the italian news talking about the incident on that day. it's only 15 seconds long as it's hard to find the entire news about it.

yup, sadly it happened on september of 2020. The full story is that this guy, 21 YO, was really jealous of his room mates, who were a couple, and abused them in some way only to murder them. When the police and journalist started to interrogate friend of his, they responded by telling them that his beavior wasn't strange. The only odd thing was that they heard him singing a lot the italian OP of GX when he was around. For a brief period of time a lot of people tought Yu-Gi-Oh=You'll become a murderer.

It's proven that Crow was not supposed to be a signer at first in the anime. Before Crow's first apperance, there was a shot of the five signer dragons where Leo's Life Stream dragon was there and Blackwing was not
And Crow was a dark signer and was the final evil on YUGIOH season 1. It was only changes of the Blackwing was super cool 😎 and still today. Crow was too on YUGIOH arc-v/arc-5 seasons 2, 3 and 3.5 with Blackwing cards. The Japan 🇯🇵 name for Crow is Krow and plus D.D crow’s Japan 🇯🇵 name is D.D krow.

Guardian elma is on the list bc it can't be summoned. Let me explain:
Guardians need to be summoned by controlling specific equip spells on the field, the equip needed for elma is banned bc it was being abused by other decks.
Equip Guardians is one of those archetypes that will never be functional even if given Legacy Support (maybe).
Abused is an understatement, it could create infinite loops with very little setup.
@@AzureRoxe I'm aware, a card that can make you draw your whole deck with just gearfried and royal magical Library is nuts, plus that's only the beginning of the combo's this card allows for.

-surface
-third rate duelist with a 4th rate deck
Basically a meme in yugioh duel links especially when Kaaba says it to a little girl after defeating her
-tier 0
A fan made thing That basically reverse to a deck that takes more than 65% of tops spots so it’s basically the most played and best deck, a format is also usually named after a tier 0 deck if there is one.
-shallow waters
-pole position loop does not actually work
So pole position is a card that makes infinite loops however there is kind of an unwritten rule in yugioh that a card or effect that causes and infinite loop cannot be activated and if a loop I somehow occurring because of a card like reason that might summon a random monster from you deck than the card causing the infinite loop is send to the graveyard (in this case pole position) so that’s why it doesn’t actually work.
-cipher soldiers
This card had 3 changes, 1 was basically because of a misprint its attribute changed from earth to light and then later changed back to earth, 2nd was its card text being altered a bit, 3rd one was its name changing from kinetic soldier to cipher soldier because it works with the cipher archetype but because its name was kinetic soldier every card that listed a cypher card also had to lost kinetic soldier, for example ( add 1 cypher monster or kinetic soldier from your deck to your hand).
-TeleDad
A tier 0 deck that was one of the first decks that used synchros and the format was named after this deck, its name is based of of a card called emergency teleport and Dark Armed Dragon, the deck was well known for being really expensive costing more than 1000 dollars because you needed 3 destiny hero malicious and 3 destiny draw and those 6 cards costed like 600$ together (I might be wrong on that)
-last turn rulings
The card is makes it’s so that 1 of your monster is going to battle one of your opponents monsters and the winner of that battle wins the duel and needles to say it caused rolling issues especially with cards that didn’t allow your opponent to summon which meant you won instantly
-I summon man- eater bug in attack mode
I believe this reverse to hell Kaiser or Zaine who in the gx gameboy games says that he is best duelist but when you duel him he is known to summon Man-eater bug in attack mode if you have no monster cards on you’re field, FYI man eater bug is a weak monster that you have to set in order to destroy a monster so normal summoning it means it doesn’t get its effect off, it can also revere to newer players that don’t understand the rule to summon man-eater bug in attack mode.
-fire dragon
There are allot of theories going around that the reason this card didn’t appear was because gx had a huge cast and there was no time.
I also have my own theory, water dragon basically used alchemy to be able to summoned ( hydrogen and oxygen monsters ) which might make it too hard or just dumb to also do for fire dragon which is why he isn’t shown
-frog the jam
It had frog in its name but wasn’t part of the “frog” archetype so every card that listed a frog monster also had to say “except for the jam” which basically caused for its name to change.
The reason it wasn’t part of the frog archetype was because in the Japanese version it doesn’t have frog in its name.
-blackwing favoritism
So there actually is No evidence about this but there is allot of proof going against it, infernity’s (kirous deck) was also very populair, plant synchro had a populaire deck right after the dark signers arc ( aki also uses plant synchros so she also had a populair deck used by players albeit not as populair as blackwing) zombie also had a deck that utilized synchros, junk doppel or doppel synchro also became populair but doppel warrior was only used once and cards like junk destroyer who where hyped for and cover cards and saw decent amount of played ally appeared like once or twice, also cards like trishula and brionac never appeared even tho both belonged tho the same synchro archetype but where more known for being generic power houses, and cards like goyo gaurdian and dark strike fighter who where the 2 most populair cards only appeared once, allot of other populair archetype in other shows also didn’t get much anime love like cyber dragons who shaped a format but in the anime hell Kaiser/Zaine suddenly used cyber dark monsters or in arc v when Dennis used a tier 0 deck but it he barely dueled and suddenly used ancient gears and the fact that real life legacy decks like lightsworns never appeared in arc v even tho they got new support during arc v ( they where a populair deck during 5ds with just effect monster and they later on got xyz support and during arc v they got synchro support so there was an excuse to put them in 3 dimensions) and allot of other deck more or equally populair to blackwing got shafted so this one is most likely not true.

I believe in the dub calling punched some guard during crash town arc and he said something like “get ready for the calling special”
-gx Italian opening
This one is really dark, so in Italy someone murder a couple ( don’t remember exact reason) and when the police arrived he was singing the gx Italian opening (it might have gone a little differently but someone definitely did murder someone and sang this song ).
-Kaiser colosseum
So Dylan your reaction was basically the reason this card got banned, people just got confused allot by this card which is the main reason it got banned and it was also a pretty good card used In bujins who got 4th place during 2014 worlds so that was basically an excuse to ban it.
-convulsion of nature
This card is really weird because it makes it so both players have to turn their decks upside down, in yugioh dueling network ( the most wel known site to duel Manually) there was no way to turn your deck around so it caused for allot of annoyances.
-dm Singapore dub
Just watch a few second of the Singapore dm dub and you’ll understand.

-Dark signer crow
Again just like about the blackwings popularity there is no proof, it is said that crow was the final boss but this contradicted by the fact that Godwin wears a shirt of his earthbound immortal.
Also in the 5ds book it’s said that crow was supposed to be a re occurring character that constantly tries to steal yuseis bike, might be wrong on that one idk I read it online and I can’t fact check it cuz I don’t read Japanese.
-adult bracelet girls
So when the early art of the bracelet girls was revealed someone there was also a sketch of older versions of the bracelet girls made, it does technically come from an official source but I believe they where just made for fun ( when I saw this a month ago I found I by googling in like 5 minutes so if you wanna see it then just google it)
-fusion neos wise and print
Neos wiseman is an effect card but in the Korean print he was printed as a fusion monster which was a mistake.
-Past protagonist in arc v
I believe it refers to a board somewhere is LDS dueling routes you can choose Yusei synchro, judai fusion or Yuma xyz, I don’t know exactly when or where but I do know I got this informatie from one of you older videos Dylan ( I believe from the video “this you might have missed in yugioh arc v).
-wizards and magic
During season 0 manga yugioh was called wizards and magic ( might be wrong about this).
-kizuna ai in grains
So omg I just learned about kizuna ai yesterday, she is a vtuber (virtual anime UA-cam) she is pretty populair and the most populair vtuber and she does kind of act light blue angel plus she does kinda of look like on a trickstar monster but idk she might have appeared in a background instead of a trickstar monster might be based on her.

So the designer of this card did not want to censor this card (Konami couldn’t get the right to censor it also) and as you know boobies need to be censored for the tcg so that why it’s ocg exclusive.
-legend of the BEWD format
This was the first real yugioh format ever, this format is also know as the yugi/kaiba format because the only real 2 decks where summoned skull and blue eyes beatdown, I recommend watching yuginonos vid about this format.

So the reason this theory exist is because edopro is the best online way to duel and when a new card is revealed it gets put into edopro at a very quick pace, so people theories that they must know the cards in advance so that why they think they are Konami. Also edopro is the most used yugioh online dueling game for the regular formats which means the competition is slowly dying which is good for Konami, there are also other reason that i just can’t think of.

So for the Seal of Orichalcos effect in real life refers to the Orichalcos card that was printed by Upper Deck, the former manufacturer of Yugioh TCG, at an event they held where competitors had a chance to win the card i'm not too sure if the people they faced had the card in the deck or if it was like a prize card but I've seen there's only 15 copies made and are really hard to find. "Numbered monster cards" is literally just about old monsters that have #(number) at the end of their name like Jinzo #7.
"Frog the Jam": There was a very early card named Slime Toad. In English, it was renamed "Frog the Jam" for whatever reason. This led to a problem when Frogs became an archetype, and it led to the situation of "Special Summon 1 'Frog' monster from your Deck, except 'Frog the Jam'" and the like. There were a few other situations like this, e.g. Black Dragon's Chick, but Frog the Jam was the one that ran away with this, and has lived on as a meme with players since.
"Harpie's Brother": a similar situation. Now called "Sky Scout" and originally "Birdman", it was called "Harpie's Brother" given how it's still an avian humanoid, but then proper archetypal Harpie support came out, and it was Frog the Jam too, just less well-known. You actually saw this guy duel on his own in the first duel of GX season 3's latter half.
Shouldn't cards like Summon Skull and Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts be part of the iceberg too? They were in a similar situation except given Archetype Condition rather name change.

To do so would be to outright change a statistic of a card, which has never happened once in the entire history of the game. Text has been issued errata, sure, but it has never happened with name, Type, Attribute, ATK, DEF, card type or summoning type.
@@christopherb501 Actually Card Type has changed with Flame Swordsman not being a Fusion Monster when it was 1st Created in the manga then becoming a Fusion. As a result the anime treats it like a normal card with the color of Fusions. There actually were misprints of cards that got information wrong as well. Also while different there have been new versions of old cards that change that information.
Konami references in cards would be like the Vendread archetype - which is one giant Resident Evil reference.
There's also a Gradius archetype and Vampire Hunter whose based on the Belmont's from classic Castlevania.

Mokuba getting poisoned happened in the manga only, basically he invited Yugi and co to play a game with him where they’d eat food Russian roulette style since some of the meals were poisoned. Turns out Mukuba was cheating (as usual) and rigging the roulette in his favor so Yugi breaks the control device (a syrup bottle of memory serves) forcing Mokuba to play fairly, resulting in him getting poisoned. The Kaiba family butler was there to save him tho so Mokuba got the antidote and was fine, as was Jounochi who also got poisoned.
There is some depth to the concept of "missing the timing". It's explained in the rulebook, but that doesn't mean it's always clear. The concept of missing the timing refers to the difference between effects that say, "*When* X, you can Y," and effects that say, "*If* X, you can Y." Both describe optional effects that you must manually choose to trigger, and both have limited timing windows to trigger them, but the *when* window is easier to miss than the *if* window. The reason is because *when* timings must occur immediately after the condition is met, whereas *if* timing windows remain open up to the next possible opportunity.
Here's a *when* example: Peten the Dark Clown's effect says that *when* it is sent to your GY, you can Special Summon another one from your hand or Deck. So, this works if you send Peten to the GY with a card such as Graceful Charity, which makes you draw 3 and then discard 2. If you discard Peten, then it has just been sent to the GY, and you can trigger its effect. The effect does *not* work with a card such as Card Destruction, which makes you discard your entire hand and then draw the same number of cards. Because drawing cards happened after the discard, the timing for Peten's effect has been missed.
Here's an *if* example: Watapon's effect says that *if* it is added from your Deck to your hand by a card effect, you can Special Summon it. If you draw it via Card Destruction, then obviously that means you can trigger that effect and Special Summon it. If you draw it via Graceful Charity, yes, you must then discard 2 cards, but doing so does *not* prevent you from activating Watapon's effect, because its effect specifically says *if*, not *when*. What you *cannot* do is draw Watapon via Graceful Charity, discard 2 cards, then activate some other card or effect and Special Summon Watapon at a later moment.

Fun fact: For the Zorc Necrophades/Dark Master Zorc connection, it's actually the oppisite: Zorc Necrophades, the whole character, is based on Dark Master Zorc, which, in the season 0 was Bakura's ace. Dark Master Zorc, in season 0, was a normal monster, in the TCG, as we all know, he's a ritual monster instead.
Basically, the ritual version of Dark Master Zorc is a reference to the original Zorc, and, basically, the ancestor and source for the creation of Zorc Necrophades.

You were actually right about Duel Terminal, it was the first big story that released over the course of multiple years. World Legacy and now the Abyss story with Albaz and Ecclesia are the successors to that format.
The Fusion Neos Wiseman print is referring to that while Neos Wiseman is designed to be a Fusion monster in the anime, but in the physical print it’s an Effect monster BUT in Korea, it got misprinted as a Fusion monster.
It have release a card called elemental hero neos krieger and if it is destroyed by battle or card effect you can special summon neos wiseman from the hand or deck ignoring it is summoning conditions but it is one hard per turn effect.
Neos Wiseman should have been a fusion monster. That would have made it slightly easier to summon.
When the orichalcos spell card was released, they actually printed in the card effect that the player that loses the duel forfeits their soul.
Something cool that I would like to see in the iceberg, maybe on level 1 or 2, is that the exodia pieces are limited. The reason for the limitation is not because of weird exploits but rather to stay true to the anime lore that there are only 5 pieces of exodia

You were correct about the Duel Terminal. There is a fascinating lore that the archetypes introduced in the machine follow. There's a whole book about the Duel Terminal which explains the lore. The lore then expands into later archetypes, such as Shadoll, Satellarknights, Zefra, Qli, Yang-Zings, Infernoids, and Ritual Beasts. It's believed that the story continues into World Legacy.

2500 card deck: what he said. This deck was created with the intent to force Upper Deck to change the rules for the maximum amount of card per deck.
Missing the timing : some cards have 'when' instead of 'if' in its text making their effects invalid (missing) when another effects happens simultaneously.
Tier 0: decks that are so powerful that literally no other deck can compete during a format.
Thir rate duelist: duel links quote that Kaiba says to small children.
Pole position loop doesn't exists: probably a reference to PP getting destroyed as per tournament rules when it creates an infinite loop situation.

What if actually all YGO animes had behind the scenes problems, I was always wondering about that 5DS, Zexal,Arc V & Vrains all had different and scrapped ideas & troublesome run but nobody knows about DM & GX, I kind of wonder if there were some scrapped ideas when making these two. It's never been documented about.

5D: With this series it is clear that something happened after the Dark Signers arc (Considered one of the best developed and dark arcs in all of Yu-gi-oh). It becomes evident how much you see the development of Carly, Jack, Leo, Aki and Luna during this arc and what happened after (erasing all the development they had). The reason for the change is not known with certainty. There are only pure rumors: the popularity of the Blackwings, the original role of Crow as a minor villain, the subject of the cult in Japan (which eliminated everything related to the cults: the Arcadia Movement and the Iliaster) or the pregnancy of the actress of Aki's voice.
What is official is that the general plot of 5D had to be modified. Everything related to future travelers, Antinomy and the Accel Synchro are not originally planned. It is also official that Shin Yoshida later joined the 5D writers after the Dark Signers arc.
Zexal: This series had a few plot arcs discarded during the well-known Early Zexal (or Zexal I). Most of them were filler, but they had interactions between different characters that we couldn't see in the series. It can be seen that there was a change of direction in the passage of Early Zexal and Zexal II. Zexal II went in the opposite direction than Early Zexal was: while Early Zexal was friendlier, funnier, and simpler, Zexal II was somewhat dark, exaggerated, and complex. The change from Early Zexal and Zexal II also worked so that much of what was worked on Early Zexal was scrapped (And with it, many secondary characters or characters that had development were wasted). Kaito and Rio were, for me, the ones who suffered the most from the change in tone.
On more realistic things: Shin Yoshida was working from the beginning on Zexal and Zexal II is considered a great improvement compared to Early Zexal.
VRAINS: It is known that the tone of the series was going to be very different from what we got. The first description of the series said that Yusaku was a beginner in dueling and, with the help of LINK VRAINS idols (Go and Aoi), Yusaku would learn to improve and socialize. This description appeared while Arc-V was still broadcasting. However, something changed (Possibly the end of Arc-V and everything related to Yuya and her ideology of smiling) and the tone of the series changed radically. Yusaku is now a dueling expert, a skilled hacker, and was a lone wolf.
The first season of VRAINS showed that they had to combine the original idea of VRAINS with the new direction of the series: like everything related to SOL Technologies and LINK VRAINS idols (Aoi and Go). The second season tried to get rid of the elements of the original idea of VRAINS: Aoi and Go. Soulburner is rumored to be another attempt by Konami to have a Crow in the series. It is also known that there was a arc for SOL Technologies scrapped because the series was short in the middle of its development.
Among the official: the series was going to be much darker than it already was (It had a very different ending than we got). And hey, Shin Yoshida came back as lead writer after the Arc-V writers made a writing disaster.

Number 6: This isn't always true, but anyways: they do this because they are the most important characters in the series (along with the main antagonist, obviously), and therefore they require the most attention.

For the Tier 0 thing, in the meta, it refers to when there is only ONE best deck where all other decks either have to be fine-tuned to counter it or be that deck. Typically once a deck has reached 60% top-cut representation in tournaments, it's considered tier 0. I might be incorrect but I believe there have only been 4-5 tier 0 decks in the entire history of Yugioh.

This is what I found. In "Battle for the Bronze, Part 2," Kaiba says Joey used a "third-rate strategy from a third-rate duelist." so essentially it was kind of originally from the show. Just Little Kuriboh slightly changed it and Duel Links kept the little Kuriboh version
"Guardian Elma": If I had to guess, it's because of the FTK-infamy of its associated Equip Spell, Butterfly Dagger - Elma.
"Fusion Neos Wiseman print": Highly likely referring to the fact that Neos Wiseman got that Fusion retrain a year or two ago.
"Magi Magi Magician Gal": That's because Takahashi personally illustrated it, but got tired of all the international censorship, and his chafing with the higher-ups on that one has led to it never getting printed, due to the likelihood of it getting censored for cleavage and an occult symbol.

Two less known points i would want to add to the iceberg:
1. The 100 early recolors.
There are exctly 200 Monsters in 100 pairs from the very early sets (many of them not even released in the west), that aren' related in any ways, but are the same looking monsters, only a different color and a diffrent pose. Mostly normal vanillas, but also effect and fusion monsters.
Examples: Kuriboh and Wretched ghost of the attic; mammoth graveyard and great mammoth of goldfine; Mystical sheep #1 and #2., dark elf and mystical elf; electric lizard and kaminarikozou etc.
They never did this again later.
2. New effect Monsters in Destiny Board Traveller.
There are 5 subcategories which a card could have. Those are Toon, Union, Spirit, Gemini and Tuner. But actually there is a 6th catergory that was never printed as propper cards.
These are Valon's cards from the orichalcos arc. There are 11 of them and they are all classified as "armor cards".
They all have effects that are made for and stay true to the real life game mechanics and were made by Konami itself, but they only appear in one Videogame, along with 3 other new cards
from the orichalcos arc.
The most crazy thing abozut this: The one video game they ever appear in they can't even be played. The game is "Destiny Board Traveller" for the Game Boy Advance, a game that is a board game with dice, not a card game. The monster cards from the Card game appear in this game, but they are placed on the sides of a die and summond to the gameboard, there are no card play mechanics involved. Only attack points, defense points and the levelstars are involved this game.

Missed a few points on the iceburg, but I'll elaborate on Konami references in the TCG: Tactical Espionage Expert show a guy hiding around the corner from two guys talking to each other, the guy who is hiding looks like Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series of game by Konami. Then there's Gradius, Gradius' Option, FalchionB (Beta) and Jade Knight are all from the game Gradius which is another Konami IP. Also cards based on Anime Characters would the trap card Spirit Force rings this bell? It should because of the character on the card looks like Super Sayian Vegeta also Tyler the Great Warrior, while already mentioned in the iceburg, should ring that bell.
Guardian Elma is on the Iceberg because it can't be summoned normally. It needs the card Butterfly Dagger Elma to be summoned which is a banned card

The ceremonial duel timeline split does refer to DSOD, since in the anime kaiba was present for the ceremonial battle but in the manga he was not, therefore DSOD can only be canon to the manga and NOT the anime due to some of the plot points and dialogue there
It's scary that I know over 90% of the stuff here, but then again I alway said that most YGO animé fans aren't really into competitive YGO and vice versa. I am one of those rare dudes who love both. I think I may have a YGO problem.

Wizards and Magic could be referring to the Spell Ruler set (which was originally named Magic Ruler; Wizards could mean WotC and Magic could mean MTG), but i've seen people also bring up that it's the original name of the Duel Monsters card game from the early parts of the manga.
Orichalcos is also talking about the UDE promo print of the card that specifically states "The soul of whichever Duelist loses this Duel is forfeit to the winner." It isn't a tournament legal print of the card and is purely meant for collectors, but the fact that an official print exists with the anime text is hilarious.
- Pole position can start a infinite loop, so if you try to perform it, it wont work today, you just win (it is shown in some Yu Gi Oh video games)

- Dark master Zorc/Zorc Necroshade: i think that DMZ is "resurrected" Necroshade, it is Zorc afterall; therefore connection, maybe im wrong (i also think that there is a Duel Links animation that says this and one manga appearance)

In short, there's a small, confusing, but rather important rule in the card game where certain card effects can have their effects cancel out and disappear if another effect is activated at the right time. Specifically, this applies to certain optional trigger effects. The best example I can think of is pre-errata Dark Magician of Chaos: it has an effect that says: 'When this card is summoned, you can return 1 spell from your graveyard to your hand.' Specifically because the ability to return a spell is optional, it is possible to activate a different card effect in response to it, and force DMOC's effect to 'miss the timing' and not actually activate. If the effect to return a spell were mandatory, then it would be set to happen no matter what happens, so you'd never lose your chance to get your spell back. It's a very weird distinction that can actually have a huge impact on a game, and a lot of people still have a hard time understanding why it happens.

Guardian Elma is also, effectively, a banned card. Guardian monsters need specific equip spells on the field to be summoned. Guardian Elma's equip spell (Butterfly Dagger Elma) is banned because it can return to your hand from the graveyard an infinite number of times as long as it's destroyed on the field. The most iconic combo with it is attaching it to gearfried while Royal magical library is on the field and drawing your whole deck.
Yugioh Everything, is there a iceberg for each of the Yugioh animes? Yugioh GX, Yugioh 5Ds, Yugioh Zexal, Yugioh Arc V, etc.? If so, can you do an iceberg for each of the Yugioh animes if possible ?
Last Turn has the most extensive and confounding rulings of pretty much any card... 17 pages or some crazy amount. Never looked it up much myself but it is legendary in how much there is and how much lawyer speak is in it.

The Left/Right theory had me immediately think of one particular duel: Kaiba vs. Ishizu
While the duel plays out, we see both sides of the duel. Meaning both Kaiba and Ishizu are portrayed from both the left and right sides. However, the majority of the duel has Kaiba on the left, portraying the 'antagonist' in the duel. But Kaiba wins, because he altered his destiny and avoided a loss. So we're led to root for the antagonist to win.

46:18 Zorc has technically also appeared when Yami Yugi first faces Yami Bakura in the Manga. Basically the Manga version of the first clash between the two happened before Duelist Kingdom and it was in a TTRPG that had Yami Bakura as the Dungeon Master and not a card game, Yugi and his friend got turned into their charcters and not their favourite cards. The final boss of that TTRPG was Zorc which is the one that made it into the card game, hence why the card has a die-rolling effect,
Warrior Dai Grepher lore refers to the fact there are a lot of cards (particularly Spells and Traps) showing the monster card Warrior Dai Grepher. Thus, some lore can be implied by examining all the cards he appears in. I'm not sure if it was intentional but it always bugged me as a kid.

The Nekroz trap cards refers to the fact that Nekroz of Clauselus can serch a Nekroz spell/trap card even though no Nekroz trap cards actually exist. There was a similar situation with cyberdark archetype where cyberdark claw could search a cyberdark spell/trap, even though no cyberdark trap was ever released.
Frog the Jam was a common card from the exclusive McDonalds YGO promotional booster packs. When the frog archetypes came out, there was a lot of discussion on whether this card counts since some cards mention that it did not count as per what the effect targeted. Earrlllyyy Frog archetype stuff.
Magi Magi Magician was said it will never be released and translated because the creator specifically refused to allow anyone to edit/censor her. If my assumption is correct, due to the fact it’s the original art for DMG, he refuses to allow the original OG DMG to be censored.
