    Great work on this Dylan!
But you missed one important manga: Transcend Game, the special two-chapter prequel manga that bridges the DM manga with DSOD. This manga shows Kaiba developing Duel Links, so the events in Duel Links can be considered canon to the manga timeline.

@@ssjgotenks2009 because Trascend the Game states that there minds that are above others or trascends other and when those minds are linked to others they are able to reach the minds of other dimensions (which gave us a multiverse of dimensión) and enter new worlds (Kaiba's endgame to see the Atem whose soul is resting in a different dimensión).
Duel Link was created to link minds and create (or recreate) a world with them and the memories of the players (that's why dead characters can return)

Im sure we'll get some answer about the multiverse when the Vrains World comes out at the end of september. Also It was confirmed that Kaiba created Duel Links (I got this information from Kaiba DSOD's character description and the manga preview of DSOD). Duel links is connected to many worlds and a lot of characters investigate this. Trey even brought up the fact that no one ever heard of Kaibacorp in his world. This also kind of shows that duel links is connected to other worlds even if Kaibacorp doesn’t develop it

I would like to share some informations I gathered throughout the years about some *official* dates and placement in the timeline. Because believe it or not, I do believe we actually have canon placements for most of them. In a very interesting fashion, every dates matches up quite nicely with one another.
First of all, Duel monsters starts in the beginning of the second Japanese school year of yugi. The year has been referred as being 1996 in Numerous newspapers in multiple chapters. Since the characters start wearing their summer uniform in chapter 41, we can deduce everything prior to that including death T must have taken place from April (beginning of Japanese school year) to June 1996. However, the year 1997 is printed on the yo-yos of the thugs in chapter 48, indicating there has been a large time gap between the two and we are now likely in winter 1997. Right after that comes Bakura's shadow RPG arc in chapter 51.
It is safe to assume Duelist kingdom takes place in the span of three days at some points during their spring vacation, meaning end of March to beginning of April, since not only do they not go to school, but also because the short arc that follows (the dungeon dice monsters arc), is the start of a new school Year seeing Ryuji Otogi as a new student.
In yugioh duelist chapter 87, when Yugi and Jonouchi are in the hospital following their encounter with Ryuji, we see a glimpse of a newspaper indicating an upcoming event to take place between August 23rd and August 25th, so during their summer holiday. Battle city then takes place a few days afterwards only, and lasts around 2 days. This then checks out, since the gang literally goes back to school on September 1st, one day later. They then wait for the end of their school week, so Friday 5th at night, to go to the museum and relive the Pharaoh's memories in the millenium world arc. We then know the ceremonial duel takes place a month after (as indicated at the end of chapter 337), in October.
Quite geniusly, everything matches up with the information of Dsod taking place six months later, in March 1998, where yugi and everyone are seen graduating high school.
Then, I do have a grip with GX's placement on your timeline, as I don't think the ten year gap has ever been officialized in any way in the original version. However, we actually do get a hindsight on Judai's school file during GX episode 156 (when the principal looks at the sheets of the missing students), and we are given the year in which Judai integrated Duel academy: 2004. Meaning GX takes place from 2004 to 2007. We also learn from episode 52 that school years at duel academia start in October.
Otherwise, that's a super interesting video! I never would have thought of Zexal taking place in a future where zone wins, or the arc v manga being canon to the Anime. As someone passionate by these kind of stuff, I cannot thank you enough for what you've done, and would love to see more of it (like a duel links timeline, it really does sound interesting)

Adding onto Dylan's theory: ArcV's Anime being its own universe is backed up by Duel Links, as it mainly pulls from the anime and builds upon it. Since Seto Kaiba canonically designed and built Duel Links in-universe, Duel Links itself can be considered canon. The Legacy Characters that appear in ArcV don't recognize Yuya when he duels them in Duel Links, basically confirming that ArcV's anime as a whole is an AU.
Reiji/Declan also mentioned in his Unlock Event that Duel Links is a world that connects to other worlds/dimensions, with his "and a world we know nothing about..." quote likely referring to the DM/DSOD worlds since he linked GX to Fusion, 5D's to Synchro, and Zexal to XYZ. Or it was placed there as foreshadowing to VRAINS world getting added next. If you feel like going for stretches, it could also imply that OUR world is also connected to Duel Links, supported by the fact that we can log in and play there like the characters can.
I know Dylan didn't touch on Duel Links much in the video, I just wanted to include some Duel Links Lore™ anyway since I figured it was relevant to the theory as a whole (I also just wanted to share some of my knowledge since I'm a long-term Duel Links player that still actively plays the game).
My personal theory as to why the Legacy Characters are the way they are in ArcV is: When Z-ARC split the worlds into the different dimensions, they took similar paths to their respective Main Timeline counterparts (DM for Standard, GX for Fusion, 5D's for Synchro and Zexal for XYZ), hence why they look the way they do. Their histories would also be similar except for 1 Key Factor: the respective protagonists and antagonists of those worlds NEVER EXISTED. Because of this, a butterfly effect happened where the friends and rivals of those protags ended up becoming different characters entirely, as well as the dimensions going somewhere unrecognizable to the Main Timeline.
Atem and Astral are directly linked to Yugi and Yuma respectively, so anything related to them also never existed by extension. That means Standard never had to deal with the Millennium Items and their Shadow Games. Fusion never had to deal with the Sacred Beasts, Yubel, or the Duel Spirit Dimension, so Duel Academy was just a normal duel school until Leo showed up. Zero Reverse never happens, so Synchro's equivalent to Satellite ended up being underneath what is effectively Neo Domino City instead. Xyz never had to deal with Numbers, so Heartland is just a normal city that focuses on XYZ Summoning. There's no direct confirmation to any of these last two paragraphs, it's just a theory based on existing knowledge.

Actually, ArcV is the last chapter of OG YGO. Following the same timeline as its predecessors. ArcV happens about the end of Zexal, and Zexal happens at same time 5Ds does. That's why we don't have any mention to Yusei and Synchros in Roku's house. The Duel Links characters are mostly from another 'another' universe, that's shown during the last Paradox event, when Yugi says to Atem that they'd never seen Yusei or Jaden before, but their memories from other universes 'sync.' with the Duel Links universe, probably the manga one.
Edit: The legacy characters in ArcV are the same as their OG counterparts, but they're from post universe split/reboot by Rei and Zarc.

Glad to see to you work on this massive timeline after so long, it was a fun watch. few complaints:
You didnt mention the DSoD Animanga promo that takes place before the events of DSoD.
Pyramid of Light (according to the dub so honestly this could be argued) takes place 3 years after the events of yugioh. Characters constantly reference that kaiba has been losing to yugi for three years. While this is an innocuous detail, you could argue this story takes place on a branching path where lil yugi lost the ceremonial duel, and thus they were never separated. At the very least its more interesting that way.
I feel like if Zexal and 5Ds are on a timeline split, it would be after GX. In the anime, turbo dueling is completely absent, and in the manga the rules of it have completely changed to remove speed spells. So there are too many inconsistencies than just a lack of synchros for yliaster to be the cause there.

    • @lpfan4491
      @lpfan4491 Рік тому +5

I honestly always missed the mention of 3 years. This is actually kinda scary because this idea for a timeline split is also what people theorize for the capsule monster arc, so it is possible these two things legit take place in the same timeline-split in the dub continuity.

Just to slim down some of the early timeline: GX officially starts in the year 2004. In one scene there is a computer with Zane and Jaden's files pulled up, and they confirm 2004 is Zane's graduation year as well as Jaden's first year, being Season 1. Placing GX 7or 8 years after Duel Monsters, depending hiw long the show went for. The file also confirms that Duel Academy is only the Japanese standard 3 years instead of the typical 4 years, meaning seasons 3 and 4 take place in the same year, 2007.
There is also no official date for the Zero Reverse Incident, for all we know it could have happened the same year as GXs ending, only that it had to be after, since Domino City is seen in GX and unscathed. Only note on the main events of 5Ds, is apparently there are some billboards that have the year 2021 on them, but I haven't found them, and that wouldn't quite track with Yusei's age, meaning its at least 17 years after 2007 at least. Unless Yusei was more than a year old by the time of Zero Reverse.

This is the first timeline video that includes YuGiOh Duel Links as a source, and that makes it way more valuable. Altough is a game, si you might not consider it canon, it is developed by Konami, so it's an OFFICIAL product, and practically the only videogame that has it's own storyline. Some of the most interesting dialogues, mayority of these actually pretty recent, are the following, for those who wonder why I say it's important:
    a) The Paradox-Pegasus interaction shown in the video.
    b) Yugi's dialogue in Paradox's event confirm that there are different versions of reality, and in DL characters have memories of ALL realities. This is why characters have dialogues with cards they never used, used in anime and used in manga.
    c) Akaba Reiji confirming that, altough similar, ARC-V dimensions are fundamentally totally diferent from GX, 5Ds and Zexal, and the "Duel Monsters" dimension is a brand new one he had never seen, making it different from ARC-V's "Standard dimension".
Shiunin Sora alsp confirms this by saying that GX's Edo Phoenix is not the same as ARC-V's Edo Phoenix.
    d) Trey investigates DL because he considers imposible that so many strong duelists exist and no one ever heard of them. His investigation leads to the conclusion that they are from different times and/or dimensions. Also, he states that "Kaiba Corp" doesn't exist and has never existed, because there is no info about such a company, and to have that level of advanced technology, there should be at least a trace of it in history, but he found nothing (confirming that Kaiba Corp does not exist in Zexal timeline).
    d) Axel Brodie's event confirms that characters in-game come from different moments in time.
    e) Blue angel's event confirms that DL appeared as an expansion to Vrains but, similar to Zexal, no one never has ever heard pf "Kaiba Corp", which also confirms that Vrains must occur in a timeline where it never existed.

This is pretty interesting compared to spellcomander91's. His timeline theory is more unified, and pieces the Anime together pretty well, but then just sticks all of the manga, vrains, and rush on the "ritual dimension" timeline. This one makes a lot more sense when examining the content of the actual anime and manga when looking at official statements on when they take place, but this one comes at the cost of being waay more fragmented. I suppose each has their pros and cons, and all we can really hope for is that some kind of official timeline will come into existence, which is extremely unlikely to happen.

You would change your mind if you saw the ARCV scrapped ideas then you would count them as cannon to the anime.
Along with Zexal Duel Carnival that hints the connection between 5DS and Zexal are one and the same just years ahead, except maybe Dr.Faker who created Heartland who learns the history of Synchros and how Yusei prevented the future disaster from happening,so instead of using Synchros he created XYZ based on his research on Yusei's and his dad's so that he won't repeat history, but did research on Fusion and Ritual as he heard about the Legendary Duelist and included them in his town but XYZ became more popular.

The big thing I find interesting is the Neos statue. This is a card 100% exclusive to Judai/Jaden, except he never really seemed to go off to be that famous during GX. He was known about for the events of season 1 and was pretty recognised around the school but the wider world never really learned about anything he did during the later seasons and his ending implies he simply went off to travel the world rather than becoming famous in the pro leagues or anything. This would be backed up by the fact Yusei doesn’t know who he was in BBT but recognises Yugi immediately
Yuma however recognises Neos from the statue which to me implies there was some kind of a split in timeline much earlier that lead to a different GX we never saw

Really great video. Definitely would be interested in a video that fits Duel Links into all this. Especially since Kaiba invents Duel Links in Transcend Game + each series in the game seems to take place after their respective shows. For example, Yuto doesn't seem to realize he's a separate person from Yuya (as they fused in Arc-V's ending). Also, Trey explicitly brings up KaibaCorp but he and Quattro don't recognize the name. And with VRAINS world coming at the end of the month, it'll be interesting to see how they handle that show (since Playmaker went to investigate something at the end).

    Hey Dylan,
nice to see the "second" part after waiting for years, and i liked it so much. I am not writing many comments, because of my bad english (i am from germany), but i will share my thoughts to your therory and give some hints to invalid points (not for critcism, but for polishment), never the less it was great so see this video (btw your videos are the only ones i watch in the english scene of Yu-Gi-Oh!-UA-cam-Videos):
    - Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is confirmed to take place in 2004-2007 (and it was just three years, season 3 + 4 = year three)
    - Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's takes place around 2021 (a sign in Episode 74, i guess, showed us the year 2021, Season 1 + 2 was about a few weeks to months, between Season 2 and 3 are 6 months, and during seasin 3 and 4 was a gpae of over a year, which was stated in episode 56 where the TDGP was tol to be held of next year, and the TDGP was about a few weeks, so without the future clips in the last episodes, 5D's is about 2020-2022)
    - Here is the first problem: Zero Reverse was 18 years before 5D's, so 2002, so before even GX occured. Here is the/my solution for. Like you, with the multiverse (a concept from several comic books), i use a concept, the so called "Flash-Point" (for those, who don't know, "Flash-Point" is a comic book series, where The Flash created a new time line, where he saved his mother from being killed and so created a complete new timeline). I think, Zone's actions created a "Zone-Point", so Zone came from the original time line (the timeline, where Yusei created Shooting Blazar Dragon with his version of Delta Accel Synchro, which was shown through Antinomy and hinted with his "you will find your own way of delta accel"), which was set to be the new "orginal" timeline, where Yusei defeated Zone (your theory of a timeline where Zone defeated Yusei can't lead to Zexal, because even without Momentum Synchros still existed all over the world and the tecnology in Zexal has not enough time to be devolped; maybe you're referencing to the TLoZ-Timeline, where the Hero of Time loses to Ganon, but i dont think this is here the case.) So, because of Zero Reverse, GX has to be on differernt time line OR has happened under under circumstances (which MUST to be the right thing because 3Ds!)
    - The next Flash-Point I create is "Zarc-Point", because during the duel Zarc vs. Ray, a Pseudo-Split leads to the foru dimensions and Zarc & Ray split into 4 seperate Versions BUT Leo Akaba was also sent to a dimension (the standard Dimension) and he was the only one with the knowledge of the occurings during his timeline (he was even confused by watching some kids dueling with the original KC Duel Disk but without Real Solid Vision). So "Zarc-POint" sets a new timeline after DM but before GX and compared to the technology in Zexal, Arc-V is more on level to DM/GX besides Dueling in form of Action Duel. Now the "Pseudo-Split": My theory resides on the Eisenstein-Theory of 12 dimenions in GX. Wee saw during all Anime-Series several dimensions and i theroize, that during Zarc-Point togehter with the dimensional crackings in gx (even stated by Satorius nad Kagemaru), in 5Ds (Zone-Point) and Zexal (Fusion of Human-World and Barian-World), some Dimensions were disintegrated and were newly created during Zarc-Point as Fusion/Synchro/Xyz-Dimension, while the Standard of "Pendulum"-Dimension is the Dimension, where ALL Animes during the timelines took place. There is even enough space to that theory, because we saw this dimension (1. Anime-Standard, 2. Monster-World #1 [with Timaeus etc. AND with Honest], 3. Dimension Yubel #1 [this with the Duel Zombies], 4. Dimension Yubel 2 [this where Tania reappears], 5. Dimension Yubel 3 [the Haou-Dimension], 6. Dimension Yubel 4 [the Tower of Yubel], 7. Monster-World #2 [the Ancient Fairy Dragon World], 11. Astral World, 9. Barian World, 10. Fusion, 11. Synchro, 12. Xyz; and no the Shadow Realm is just FICTION).
    - VRains, Sevens, GO Rush may be set after Arc-V, but there a no confirmation spots to be set on a constant timeline, but there a several hints: VRAins has all summon-methods besides Pendulum, so it wil took place after Zexal, but in a no-Zarc-Point-TImeline. Sevens has the same Duel Monsters as all series before, because Polymerization exists (stated by Gakuto during the first fusion-summon), riding duels exists (stated thourgh the first goha sibling, i think yuo was his name), xyz summon exists (not because of the pseudo-utopia but of this one statement of Luke during the duel "Two Level 4 monsters, Romin, here it comes" which was always stated during Zexal, when a characte has 2+ Monsters with the same Level which leads to a Xyz-SUmmon.
    - GO Rush, like you said, has to be in an other dimension, and there a more hints to that: Both of the Ohdo kids were not familiar with Sevens Road, so they could not be direct relatives to Yuga. Goha was the inventor of RUsh Duels, not Yuga. And (this is more a critiscm of GO Rush compared to Sevens, which makes it in my opinion a bad series): There a far behind the power level than every Sevens Character (even in Episode 20 Yudias only uses Normal Monsters, i mean WHAT?! Even Pegasus in Episode 2 of DM used Effect Monsters) and there is no proof of a non-Rush-DUel Era.
So, this is it. A lot of information, i know, but this is something i had to wrote, because i was waiting literally for years for this video after seeing your first one.
So, thanks to everyone who has read the whole days and like Dylan i hope all of you had an amazing day!
    Bye

You could probably tie Sevens into a branch of the main timeline, actually! Remember that in BBT that there is a timeline where Paradox kills Pegasus? Opening the video with Paradox being presented the idea that "nevertheless, Duel Monsters will always exist" would actually make sense if that ties into the Sevens timeline. You could definitely pinpoint the immense control that Goha Corporation has over Duel Monsters to the point of even overseeing trades that might be related to an idea of Yliaster taking control of the game. That might also explain why out of all the cards that appear in the anime, there are direct references to monsters from DM, GX (though GX is very hard to find, Daedalus is a GX card), Zexal, and even a reference to Arc-V with Odd-Eyes Twin Tail Cat but no 5D's reference. Closest I can find is a couple relatively obscure Tuner monsters appearing in cameos on some card arts.
GX should be 3 years, it follows Japanese high school structure and so two seasons (obvious choice being 3 and 4) would by design have to take place during the same year.
If you go by the logic of Arc-V manga being in the anime timeline then it would kind of need to be in the "Yliaster wins, Zexal timeline" as I see it, a Timelord being the link to 5D's would mean it would be the split where Timelords were more "historically relevant" than something like the Earthbound Immortals or Signer Dragons.
I also don't know where the source for the statement that it was 10 years after DM comes from so I'd try and dig into that. If the manga directly says 2004 that would honestly make more sense since returning characters in GX certainly don't seem to be 10 years older.

Great video! Been waiting for this one for a while now haha. My only nitpick is placing the Yugioh Arc V Manga after Zexal on the most upper right line. You said the villain uses a dark Utopia monster right? That would mean Zexal would needed to have happened. Sure the villain can travel through time but it’s less complicated to travel on one branched timeline rather than traveling through different branches of the timeline.

With the first 4 series being on one timeline until Zarc splits the timeline befor arcV begins.

It's an interesting theory but if we count Duel Links canon as anime canon, Trey event tells us that he and his brother never heard of Kaiba Corp or the other legendary duelist, he even suggest that could be because Duel Links accessed another dimension/universe, so that kinda implies Zexal is a different universe to the first 3 shows.
Again that is if you count Duel Link as canon.

    This was enjoyable to watch.
Arc V manga being in the anime timeline does make sense. The anime Arc V can also make sense on the anime line, since Arc V takes place in a distant future. The original dimension or the united world, before it was split was the original setting of the Arc V world build. Leo En Cards and the after effect is what brought the 4 dimension, and even Yushou thought if it was Zarc who place his avatar (Yuya) as his “son” because he was the best duelist in Standard Dimension so that Yuya could learn and quickly lead on to his revival. This brought other possibility that it could be Zarc wills to choose the rest of the legacy character to battle against them as he had no challenge, except Ray. Though Zarc doesn’t sees Ray as a challenge, he only fears the En Cards, a natural enemy of his.
An interesting thing on Arc V anime is how literally no one had a backstory and they couldn’t remember anything from their past as stated by Yushou and Syuzo (Yuzu dad). This could be the same for young Jack Atlas (as he was shown in the anime).
The whole Arc V is an after effect of what happened in the united world, and the cast of character has no real backstory except the 4 Yuboys and the bracelet girl. It all happened after Zarc being corrupted, darkness taking over. I believe Darkness from GX is the entity that returned on Arc V as he did mentioned he would return and probably took the identity of the Supreme King or target the next Supreme King.

There is actually cause to believe that Zexal takes place in the main timeline when Yusei has won, reason being that Synchro Monsters and XYZ Monsters actually take from IRL stuff relating to Energy Consumption, and the final duel between Yusei and Antinomy is a link to said theory
Synchro Monsters are made from Momentum, which acts similarly to Nuclear Energy, because both are unstable energy sources, they can cause a huge amount of damage if used incorrectly
XYZ Monsters are made from Black Hole Energy, or antimatter, which is stated in the guide book of the Structure Deck of the 1st XYZ Era Style Deck, meaning that if contained correctly, the energy source can be stabilized without causing damage like how nuclear energy does
It would fit because at the end of 5D's, Yusei takes over his fathers project to make New Domino City a better place, and what would happen if he found out about the myths and legends of stuff such as the Numeron Code and such, and made XYZ Monsters as a way to cycle out the Synchros, hence you don't see Synchro Legendary Monster Statues because they...just don't exist anymore, Synchro Monsters are by all design dangerous when it comes to the power they leak, causing the Meklord Apocalypse Genocide, so Yusei, in his knowledge, went back to where he fought Antinomy and used that energy left over to create XYZ Monsters as a way to create a stable energy source
Synchros need a Tuner and a Non Tuner, most of the time of differing levels, which can cause an instability of power
XYZ Monsters Ranks are like the antimatter and the XYZ Units they hold act as a bonding agent to keep it in check, hence why they use the same levels when they want to XYZ Summon
It makes more sense than the fact Z-ONE let people live after he legit just went and destroyed everything Duel Monsters, including people, the Arc Cradle was supposed to destroy the world to reshape it, so why would that lead to the events of Zexal?

I'm surprised the entire theory fits into a single image.
I'd like to see a video about Duel Links and how it fits into this entire mess. With Duel Links being a thing, the multiverse theory becomes even more complicated. I like my complicated theories though.
I watched SpellCommander's timeline theory before watching this video, but I don't know which theory I prefer, so I'm going with both. Both of you are right. On the other hand, confirming the existence of a multiverse sounds cooler and more appealing than placing events on a weirdly constructed timeline. I just thought watching both back-to-back would be a nice experience and it was.
Also, in accordance with the multiverse theory, both videos can co-exist and be true at the same time. Both you and SpellCommander did a great job with your videos. I felt like your video was more inclusive overall, but that can be explained by how long it took to release this and the multiverse aspect of the video. It was worth the wait in my opinion.
When you don't rush people, you get good things. When people take forever and the joke lasts for the entire years as though it may never happen, you get exceptional things.
I mean, listen. Anyone that's critical of this video can at least admit it's out. The goal posts moved a billion times, but it happened. I can't imagine the amount of work it took to make this.

I have one teeny-tiny little theory, and it's regarding the Bonds Beyond Time movie, 5D's and Zexal. I think that Zexal is only canonical to one of the 5D's adjacent timelines, hear me out. So the events of Bonds Beyond Time happens, Paradox appears, snatches Yusei's Stardust Dragon, and then goes back in time to Judai's time to cause more havoc. Yusei, with the power of the Crimson Dragon, goes back in time to Judai's era, Paradox escapes to Yugi's time, Yusei then goes with Judai to Yugi's time, the boss duel happens, Paradox is defeated, and the day is saved, and after our three main protagonists bid farewell to each other, Yusei takes Judai back to his time, and Yusei goes back to his era... Right?
Well, here's the thing, we all know time is very tricky, and my theory is that Yusei did make the initial trip back in time, but he didn't come back to his original time. I think that he, when he tried to go back to his time, he actually split his already split time again, and he actually came back to an adjacent time where another Yusei also went back to stop Paradox, which would also split that timeline, so on and so forth, and he would be able to stop Z-ONE in that way.
But the original timeline's characters were wondering where Yusei was, and, being pressed for time, they would have to go ahead and deal with Z-ONE and co. on their own, without Yusei's help, and I'm guessing even with Jack with his power of Red Nova Dragon, couldn't defeat Z-ONE and the Signers ultimately failed their mission, and the Ark Cradle did, in fact, crash on top of New Domino City, where Iliaster with decades of time on their hands, would rebuild it into Heartland City. And that's why we never see any semblance of Stardust Dragon or hints of Yusei Fudou or Synchro monsters in Zexal, because Yusei never came back to his time, he never defeated Z-ONE, and Iliaster purposefully withheld that from history.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't actually work with what is canon. Permanent timeline-splits have to be natural because, as we see, manual changes to pre-existing timelines does not actually split, the older timeline simply gets erased and you have to travel out of it if you don't want to get deleted alongside it. If we go by your theory(Which is actually a very solid one, I admit), then the characters from the original neo domino all died(Z-one and gang probably noticed what's going on and fled the scene) and we see in the movie that Yusei returns to the restored city while everyone was still waiting, so no major events could have taken place in that timeline either.

This theory is a lot different from SpellCommander's video. I don't know which one makes more sense, but at least both of you agree that VRAINS is the sequel to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga and Dark Side of Dimensions, even if your arguments for why this is the case are quite different.
Interesting to get two different takes on the timeline, though.

    Love the video, great work!
One thing though about Goha duels not being Master duels: I think there is a high chance they are identical since we know they had 5 zones, and that you could only normal summon once and draw one card per turn. Also, when Yuo did the first fusion of the show, Gakuto said it was "like Polymerization" referring to the Goha\Master duel Fusion spell with its original Japanese name (Yu-go).
So we don't have a reason to think they were very different, but we do have a few to think they were either very similar or the same.

@@lpfan4491 True! But it was also stated twice that he couldn't have done it alone and that someone else was behind duel links. @@sphinxx5322 I probably missed those mentions because I stopped playing the game. But it seems very much like a stretch from the characters(And the writers if it is really what is going on). The guy figured out how to create technology that can at least partially protect him from magic that is already able to erode the walls between dimensions.
Duel Links isn't much of a stretch, especially if we assume that he may have gotten help from his future version who actually already has that cube and used it as help to enter the afterlife.

@@lpfan4491 I totally agree with you and I always loved the idea of Kaiba creating duel links. However, as Dylan's video points it, the ygo universe has become a multiverse. It has been hinted in duel links several times and it has even been "stated" more straight forwardly in the last Paradox event. It's interesting to realise that Vrains, duel links and DSoD have been created at the same time in 2016 and have a lot in common. It's also very interesting to see that the "multiverse" is being fully stated in duel links just when Vrains is about to come out in a few weeks.
In the last event, Yuugi asked Yami if "Kaiba could have really created that advanced technology on his own" and Atem replied : "I feel like we are following someone else's orders". Yami has also stated that he and Yuugi are not the same Yami and Yuugi that Judai and Yuusei met. (Judai and Yuusei met the Yami from the anime while Yami of duel links is the same as Yami from the manga). It seems like Yami Yuugi is aware of this.
Last, the end of vrains says that vrains has opened doors to new dimensions. The idea of "different dimensions" connects vrains to DSoD and to Duel Links as Dylan's timeline shows it.
Therefore, I feel like it could be possible that Ai used Kaiba's technology (or Kaiba used Ai's technology) to created duel links. Both have the same motivation: Kaiba wants to duel Pharaoh Atem while Ai wants to save all the Yuusaku's who have "died" in the timeline only he has seen.
