If you like this film I suggest "The Wild Bunch" from 1969. Even if you don't like westerns I think you'll like this. The slow motion shots are the best and began a long enduring trend in Hollywood movies. Everyone should watch this movie, at least, once.
@@andreww1225, the one towards the beginning that gets shot in the head and helped Tyler Rake/Chris Hemsworth when he had the bag over his head and was being escorted out of the room after he saw Ovi.
The one-shot scenes blew everyone's mind when Exctracion first came out. and now in Extracion 2 there's an even crazier 22 minute one-shot scene, can't wait for you to see it!
Extraction 2 just amps it up even more and those crazy shots you loved, expect even more 😁 Also Nik, played by Golshifteh Farahani, was amazing. She’s such a badass and I hope she gets to be in more big movies.
I will say that there's one character in it that is beyond obtuse that didn't get a scratch. I was screaming at the TV; shoot him and throw him off the boat, toss him off the train and get hit by that exploding helicopter, someone please shove him off that glass balcony, let him eat it from that grenade launcher, oh c'mon at least let him get slapped or something!
41:35 Tyler uses two M4-style rifles. The first one is a BCM CQB-11, the semi-auto version of which retails at about $1,500 (not including the EOTech hybrid scope, which costs almost as much as the goddamn rifle). Second rifle (used during the final shootout) is a Daniel Defense M4A1. Saju is in fact using an H&K MP5 (MP5SD, if you want to be specific)
The behind the scenes of the one shot scene is pretty cool to watch. The director was a stunt double/stuntman for a long time and did some huge movies like Cap Civil War, Infinity War & Endgame.
@@AbyssWatch3r It's not the "creator's" choice. (There is no creator, there are writers, producers, and the director). Netflix decides whether the movie gets a release. And it's better for Netflix that it doesn't because people will watch it on their service.
Tyler Rake(Chris Hemsworth) is meant to be a former Australian SASR/Spec forces operator whose gone to mercenary work. The second film expands on the back story of Tyler and his son/wife and why his character in this film just seemed like a mindless machine without regard to his own life.
I'm so happy you guys loved this movie as much as I did for alllllll the same reasons!!! Absolute BANGER and especially now the Extraction 2 just dropped, I'm so so soooo excited to see the reaction to that... SOOOOO good ❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘
I didnt have a clue about different weapon systems outside of what we use in the UK. That was until I started playing tarkov. Crazy how much that game teaches you. Also you asked about Tyler's background I think he was part of Australia's SASR
The gun at his head part is even more crazy because even tho it has no magazine it could still had a bullet in the chamber.. for me it passed as he had considered this detail, being who he is, but he was wanting so bad to die that he didn't care
I absolutely loved this movie. The action sequences, the fight choreography, the cinematography, the script, the stunts, the camera work even the score just off tap pure gold. I loved this movie more then I did John Wick and The Equaliser. The fights seemed more realistic as obnoxious as that may sound. The supporting cast did an amazing job as well. If you loved this one, Extraction 2 is going to blow your mind even more. I rate this 10/10. Great to see Chris Hemsworth play a much more intense role as compared to his comedic take of Thor.
I know we like to talk about how good Rake is, but I like talking about the hostage kid. He was a perfect hostage. He did exactly what he was told. Moved when he was supposed to. Did little to get Rake in trouble. He's like the John Wick of movie hostages. He moves like someone is controlling him from a vantage point. That kid was a great hostage.
Great reaction guys…. Get ready for part 2…. It gets crazy good and the camera work is amazing… also done by the same director…. Hope to see that reaction soon.
13:42- Look at that response time. Best hostage you could ask for.16:18- Indian Terminator. Dude never gives up. 18:11- Dang Tyler. You got a lot of GTA stars on you. 32:53- Me too. He's great.
Back when I was a senior in high school and early college, my jiu jitsu dojo had the kid’s class right after mine (age 10-13ish), and I helped teach alongside my sensei and the kids LOVED judo nights because we would just practice throws. They would all ask me (I’m a 5’3” woman), to throw them over and over and thought it was the most fun thing in the world, and even got a better kick out of it when I would let them practice on me and dramatically help throw myself so they felt like an action hero. It was the most fun way to teach self defense to kids and everyone learned how to fall safely (on mats ofc) and not get hurt. I’m 28 now and they are all grown, but I’ll never forget those days and how fun it was 🤣 I had to share after Nikki was cracking up during the fight at 27:00 ish. The choreo in this movie is bananas
Couple cool things about this movie! First of all, that jump that Chris Hemsworth made at the beginning. He wanted to do it for real, but for obvious reasons they wouldn't let him do it. Instead, they let him jump half-way off the cliff landing on an air mattress in the middle. Second of all, his character. Is former Australian SAS (Special Air Service) or SBS (Special Boat Service) I forget which. This is one of my favorite movies.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ You guys!!! you don't even know how excited I was to see this today. Extraction is one of those iconic movies and there is a reason it is so popular. I just watched the second one last week! I love you guys so much and so excited to finally see you guys react to one of my favorites. Every time you guys post I love watching and it brings me into a happier place. Been dealing with more health issues but I always feel better when I watch you guys. I can't wait to see you react to the second one, Extraction 2! I have been watching you guys for years and you are definitely my favorite reaction channel. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I said the same thing when I first watched this movie when it came out. It was one of the best action movies I've seen, and the camera work in this one is really incredible. I rewinded certain scenes so many times lol. Then found out it was the Russo brothers and then it alllll made sense lolol. So good, and Hemsworth did fantastic. Great reaction!
What's more impressive with the choriography is that for the parts that were shot in India they couldn't use functioning prop guns because of the laws. In the single cut action scene they are using rubber weapons, which means when he clears the jam at 20:49 the casing or jammed round is cgi. Also when you perform a muzzle strike with a pistol you will likely cause a jam (as seen), its a great attention to detail moment.
Fan fact for my fellow Star Wars nerds Sam Hargrave who is the director and a long time stunt man and stunt coordinator also was the 2nd unit director for The Mandalorian season 2
Tylers background probably isnt a SEAL since hes Australlian. Most likly SASR Austraillian Special Air Service Edit : Ive just googled it and he was indeed in the SASR
I really enjoyed this movie when it came out. And I remember being super upset seeing him go down like that. But man, that an awesome surprise at the very end there. I'm so happy there's a second movie with Hemsworth returning. I haven't seen it yet but I know it's gonna be awesome to watch as well.
I loved the first one even more than the second in my opinion. I did love the second film but I just felt the first was way better paced, better effects etc.
Just had my second watch of this movie with my dad. Perfect timing, for sure one of the best action movies to come out of the last decade. Now onto spoilers: I wish they kept Tyler dead and left this alone as a stand-alone movie or maybe made sequels about his journeys before this mission. I feel like he had a fulfilled arc, finally being able to relive his memory of his kid again as he laid dying, knowing he successfully saved the kid. Idk maybe it’s just me. Also I just don’t see how he could possibly have survived that anyway lmaooo
Well, blame test audiences for the ending the movie got. They didn't like the original ending, so they added that little bit at the end to make it more ambiguous. Also, just watch Extraction 2. Everything makes sense. I'll just say it's not a speedy/quick and easy recovery. At one point, Nik (Tyler's partner) is told by the doctor to pull the plug since they can't do anything else and things don't look good for him. Also, there is a reason there is an 8 month time jump at the end of the first movie.
Extraction probably Chris’ best role and the sequel was just as good, it’s just a shame we’ll not get anymore films from him. Wish him all the best with his health and blessings to his family
You asked Tyler's background: he's former SASR (Special Air Service Regiment). One of two Special Forces groups of the Australian Army alongside the Commandos.
Great reaction like always, this movie was epic, Netflix have a plan for this movie to be a stand alone one, that why he "desapear" in the end. but after the massive success that it have they wanted another one and thank god they do it. you metion that you like to know how the car scene was filmed if search for extration 1 car scene you will see it. I don't like to compare films, But if I'd have to... Man on Fire + A little sprinkle of The Punisher. But also stunt coordinator for films like End Game, Atomic Blonde, Hunger Games franchise, Suicide Squad plus many more. Also watch the behind the scenes, he sits right on the front of the car, going way too fast, with no chance for error! Turning into the best camera shots, as he almost dies for it each time... You gotta watch the sequel next. You think this scene is long wait until you see the 21 minute one shot scene in Extraction 2. These movies are so badass!
21:40 this part right here is what I imagined a Street Figther adaptation would feel like ahahha in the game you're literally fighting in the streets while people are passing by, shopping and stuff
7:26 just because a 1911 doesn't have a mag in it doesn't mean there isn't a bullet in the chamber. P.S. Steven is right though, on the bridge Saju uses a Heckler & Koch MP5SD, and Tyler a BCM CQB-11 with BCM furniture, the BCMGunfighter Mod 0 stock and Mod 3 vertical grip, suppressor, EOTech holographic sight, 3x magnifier and a Steiner Offset tactical aiming laser. Saju's choice is not the best for that scenario, by a long shot.
Tarkov is great for their firearm replication accuracy. You're correct about it being an MP5SD @41:04. The exact rifle Tyler is using could be any variation of the M4 or AR-15. It appears to be more closely built to a Mk12 with that barrel length.
4:38- Aye Nik, best backup gal you could ask for. 5:39- Best hostage you could possibly hope for. 7:16- He handled that perfectly. Can't stand when folks with no power try to intimidate.
There is an extras featurette where the director (whose a Marvel stuntman) explains how he did the one shot. Didn't the Hawkeye episode steal/borrow it for a scene? Extraction 2 guys.
Love the reaction! Also some parts of this movie were shot in my city in India and people went crazy to meet Chris Hemsworth, this was before Infinity War. He is loved by many all over the world
That depends on members. At the time of this comment, there is a poll for the next movie night. It's Evil Dead Rise vs. Extraction 2. Evil Dead Rise seems to be winning. But I don't know if they'll do some executive decision to watch Extraction 2 the week after Evil Dead Rise (if it wins), or if they'll toss it into a poll with 3-4 other movies like they normally do. But for right now, I think things depend on the members, but Evil Dead Rise seems to be winning the last time I checked. And I can see it winning because everyone enjoys Nikki's reactions to horror movies the most.
This question is to all! People that come back from war shot! With major injuries! Can you have a normal life without your medicine! Or even people that experience major injuries!
Such a great movie, love it and just watched Extraction 2 last night, so good as well. Chris Hemsworth is a beast, he is so good in these movies. I hope there's an Extraction 3!❤️❤️❤️
They pretty much said Extraction 3 is happening, but they want further confirmation. And that confirmation is everyone watching 2 as much as possible and getting it as many views as possible. Chris Hemsworth is willing to return and the script/plot has already been figured out. Now it's on the fans.
Actually a few shootouts and fights in this movie and the second movie were done in one take to get the most chaos and action like you were actually there witnessing it live . So guys falling and dust rising up was made to seem all out war straight away . As the more times a take woupd happen the dust would eventually be clear so it was done in one take action shots . And amazing drone work and the car chase was a crazy feel of sitting in the back being ragdolled 😂😂😂😂
I love this movie and I am looking forward and saving the watch for Extraction 2 for your watch along. Also, have you seen Tears of the Sun? Bruce Willis is awesome in that action movie, given his heat-breaking exit from acting, and I thing you both would love it.
I remember watching this with my cousin when it came out. We lost our shit watching the scene where Tyler fights does kids like... What?! Loved this movie, great reaction!
"It's a baby" Clearly she never seen child soldiers or Beasts of nation. And they're more ruthless than the adults sometimes because they are on drugs when they go to wars. Rape, murder, arson isn't even question for em. It's so natural in their world
I was truly surprised by how much I loved this movie. Everything about it was just great. This really cements Hemsworth as a true action star in my eyes. It's the best action movie I've seen in a while. Can't wait to watch the sequel.

You’ll love extraction 2, they’re both equally good movies!
I finally watched this last night. I was genuinely surprised how much I liked it. I am dying to hear your reactions, especially Steven.
Can't wait till you guys see the second one, because the one shot scene in that is next level.
Love the reaction! Also some parts of this movie were shot in my city in India and people went crazy to meet Chris Hemsworth, this was before Infinity War. He is loved by many all over the world
Came for the reaction, stayed for the water "ploop" sound effect. (consider doing Inside Man with Denzel and Clive Owen pls)
fun fact tyler rake in extraction is an ex-Australian SASR operative
This reminds me of a cross between Hardcore Henry and the tv show Strikeback, the series with the characters Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott.
Please do extraction 2! Y’all reaction is the best!
You're in for a treat with the second one. It's completely bonkers !
This question is to all! People that come back from war shot! With major injuries! Can you have a normal life without your medicine! Or even people that experience major injuries!
Guys ready for Extraction 2 it's getting better!!🥰
Such a great movie, love it and just watched Extraction 2 last night, so good as well. Chris Hemsworth is a beast, he is so good in these movies. I hope there's an Extraction 3!❤️❤️❤️
They pretty much said Extraction 3 is happening, but they want further confirmation. And that confirmation is everyone watching 2 as much as possible and getting it as many views as possible. Chris Hemsworth is willing to return and the script/plot has already been figured out. Now it's on the fans.
@@reaps8807 That's great news! 👍👍👍
if you like this i would recommend 6 underground and the gray man, mile 22 are worth the watch
Fun fact: the little kid Tyler sees in his memories is one of Chris's actual kids.
It's strange to hear Chris hemsworth in native Aussie not acting like a nub like love n thunder
This movie surprised me too, it was very good. You 2 should watch the movie Peppermint.
Watching Chris Hemsworth beat up those children like an episode of It's Always Sunny made this movie for me.
Tyler Rake is just Thor when odin banished him so went on a side quest😂
Yeah! Unworthy thor😂
Now, please watch Siku, it is very much like John Wick, Nobody. It's also top tier action without major dialog for me.
I love this movie and I am looking forward and saving the watch for Extraction 2 for your watch along. Also, have you seen Tears of the Sun? Bruce Willis is awesome in that action movie, given his heat-breaking exit from acting, and I thing you both would love it.
This is what you get when an established stuntman gets the chance to take the reigns. Just like with John Wick. :)
I’m so happy I found this channel. This is the first video I’ve watched and I love it
I remember watching this with my cousin when it came out.
