By far the BEST car I have ever owned. And I have had a lot of cars! I've had mine 10 years (09), and I have spent $88 in repairs. Of course beyond tires, batteries, brakes and routine maintenance. But that's impressive. It still runs well. Unfortunately has the oil consumption issues common with this engine, and it uses a lot of oil, but I just make sure I keep an eye on it and keep rolling. Not afraid to drive it anywhere.
I have a 2010 rs7. Which i think, is the best release edition. Lowered, exhaust, seats, 5 speed, body kit, front sides and rear. Center exhaust . The color, the purple , welll. ahhh, i do like this blue 2011. The purple grows on you.
Same here! They just gave up on them and didn't do anything to keep them alive. They could've done some things to freshen up the brand and more people probably would have bought them!
They stopped making them because the scions in general were made and designed for the younger crowd and for those who like to customize them there literally a blank slate u can do a bunch of upgrades to but when they realized that its was older people buying them way more then the younger that's why scion was discontinued after 2016
About 5 monts ago I bought a 2009 Xb, with 93K miles, I was noticing when you closed the back door, how tinny it sounded. I just had an alpine stereo and new JL Audio speakers put in...and soundproofing in all the doors and back door, what a difference that made....it really blocked out the road noise and makes the drive much quieter and when you close the doors, it sounds solid....much more than I thought it would. Something that may be of interest, I bought the sound proofing on Amazon and it really wasn't all that expensive. Great video by the way. Thanks for the info, I have been a long time Scotty Kilmer fan.
Hi there car Guy, :-) I have a 2008 xB which I totally loved. The people that owned it before me beat the crap out of it so I had to have the heads replaced on one side of the engine already. It now has 185,000 miles on it and I love driving it. I would love a blue one like you have. I have a silver one Fun fun easy car lot of room dig it!! I'm going to go back to watching your video now PS by the way my son and another male friend call My car the toaster lol :-)
They are very tough cars and even when mistreated they still are durable and have potential to last! I could see you easily getting another 100,000 miles out of yours if you take good care of it and keep up with all of the recommended routine maintenance. The blue is such a great color for the car! Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support!
I really like these, but they are too low to the ground for the crap roads we have here in PA. Im hoping the new TJ Cruiser works out as it is very similar just higher set and a little longer
It os so bizarre they made a sporty version.. with an automatic?? I love my 15 with manual. Would love a factory sunroof in it. Would not give up a Manual transmission to get one, though.

Hey 👋🏻 I have a chance to buy one like this 2011 for 2k with 107k miles. There are two codes po420 po120, I can fix that myself. Probably First O2 sensor plus some stuff around throttle body or vacuum leak. Should I take it or ignore? What you think?
Nice xB love the color, I just bought a used 2012 two months ago I like it a lot best all around car, only thing I don"t like is that transmission whine sound that it makes around 20 to 45 mph while on the gas pedal. I think I could hear you're xB do the same sound in the video is that normal for the xBs?
The Blue one looks nicer. I'm thinking of getting one the second Generation, after I pay off all my car payments on my 2016 Scion TC or I might buy an FR-S those are my 2 choices.

Thanks for the upload! I'm considering one of these. Is the suspension comfortable for the type of car that it is? I'm not expecting luxury, just something more comfortable than my rsx.
Sure thing, Ryan! For what it is, yes I'd say it is comfortable. I mean, it is basically a box on wheels so it does ride kinda of like that lol. The handling is outstanding, road noise is average. It has been a while since I've been in an RSX, but if I remember correctly the suspension in the RSX is a little bit softer and slightly more comfortable. But again it has been a while. I'd recommend you drive an xB to make an accurate judgement of the ride quality. Some would say it is comfortable, but others not so much. My primary vehicle is an F150, so being used to the truck's soft and comfortable suspension and coming to this makes for a very noticeable decrease in comfort.
Hey buddy 2011 rs #666 here, just passed 185k miles and am loosing about a quart of oil per week. Checked and changed everything i can think of but everything is pointing to the piston rings which ive heard have been an issue on the 2nd gen xb's. Have you experienced any oil burning off?
Thanks! Yes I still have the truck, it has a little over 9,000 miles right now. I plan to do a 1 year update in August and go over any changes / updated future plans at that point.
I'm losing at least a quart a week depending on how much I drive, burning off and coming out through the exhaust. I've changed the PCV valve and crankcase gasket thinking that may help but it did not unfortunately. Seen a few people on here talking about issues with the piston rings on most second gen XB's, hoping it's not true.
I noticed that you were able to fold the backset down on the passenger side but not on the driver side. What did you do to the front passenger seat to get the back passenger seat to fold down completely without removing the backseat headrest? Also, can you drive the car with the backseat folded flat on the driver's side or do you have to push the driver's seat too far forward?
Because the seats curve up at the top the driver seat was obstructing the back seat from folding down. If you just slide the driver seat forward enough for the back seat to fold down then the driver seat can be slid all the way back once the rear seat is down. Also, another option is removing the rear headrests which I have done several times. That is a little easier in some situations!
@@Eliyourcarguy That's good to know. I didn't know you could move the front seats back again once the back seats were down. I had a Scion Xa before and you had to remove the rear seat headrests to fold down the back seats even if you pulled the front seats forward. This is so much easier. I wish Toyota still made Scions. The xB I just bought is a 2012. My xA was a 2004 so that was quite an upgrade. Thanks for your help!
