    One of the things I've always loved about power-lifting and strong man events, is the crowd generally doesn't care who wins. They love the effort and training put in by each contestant and will happily scream for them regardless.

      It's because you legit want to see everyone's best lifting. Like really after Eddie halbrook that 500 Mark it's not like anybody didn't want to see all 3 guys lift it. I'm a cool that Eddie predicted and then did it. So often these guys are so focused you don't get to that world. It's funny how many guys that are power lifters are very unassuming very humble. Some even seem like real sweethearts 😅 really though guys like Brian Shaw and Benny Magnusson it's like they've been pumping the signal for a while "Hey check this out" Eddie breaking 500 was the biggest spike the sport has seen and really started watchingback in the 90s. I love how it's taken off though If I'm watching anything now it's either informational or powerlifting.

      @@BlackCroft666it's a very basic thing that we zll want to know who strongest and what is possible. One guy says I'm gonna lift this who else wants to try. I don't want to root against any of them knowing that they train all the time giving up so much. You know it's really weird I think it's like the only thing that people call us for where eulogy to matley if you can lift that way you want to see if anybody else can do it you know it's not like anybody's taking anything away from you.

    How on earth did he blast 430 off the floor like that? Such a great lift.

  • @TampaCEO
    @TampaCEO 8 місяців тому +1

    He should have skipped 470 and saved his energy for the 505. When Eddie and Thor did their world record lifts, they saved their energy for the big lift. Neither of them attempted anything close to 500 in their warmups.
    Don't get me wrong - 470 is an INSANE lift. There are less than a dozen men to ever pull 470. In fact, before Eddie hit 500, the world record was 460. So 470 is a MASSIVE achievement. 8 years ago, he would have had a world record.
    With that said, you are either here to "win" the "contest", or you are "committed" to a "world record". You can't do both. You can't try to do a "winning lift", then see if you can make the world record. You need to throw down the gauntlet and make a firm decision.
    I think he has 505 in him. He just needs to commit to the lift and forget about trying to secure a victory first.

    He was centering his feet by the Giants logo, but the bar wasn't fully centered on it, so that side swing upon lifting off must have been a pain

    This pattern repeats itself. Everyone who has failed 500+ has somewhat struggled with the previous 465/470 warmup already. That lift needs to look like Eddie's 465kg if anyone wants a realistic shot at it

    They are getting so close. All the weights before the 505kg are comming up faster and faster, easier and easier. Maybe it is just the mental block of it being 505 and a World record, a record of the world.
