I just bought mine today, and I'm gonna be getting a nice little rig for it since everything hurts when i use it with my desk chair, but it's a really nice entry-level wheel that doesn't break the bank. I feel like with a little foldable rig it would work perfectly.
Anyone that can be competitive with these wheels should definitely start saving. I was good with my g920 but when I switched it opened a whole new door for me
Changing your brake pedal to a loadcell would likely achieve the most gains and improve consistency more than anything else. It's the lowest hanging fruit to achieve faster consistent laps. The wheel is not so important as most people think in terms of lap times.
@braveheart4603 didn't find this one out until i got loadcell. On the 920 it's like a guessing game for braking. Sometimes it's too hard sometimes its not hard enough. Once I changed just wow. So much difference. And I do agree 100% the wheel isn't that much different but the pedals are night and day
@@marshallpeters1437 I'm just about to get one and can't wait to start leaning to use it. I've loved getting to where i've got with my g920 over the last year but the brake pedal with the loadcell and all the better software to program the pedals input is what i'm most looking forward to. Some cars you need fine control on the brake to get the optimum rotation. I'm looking forward to the smoother feeling of a DD wheel also and being able to feel the force feedback detail.
Thats logitech for you. They sell almost everything at the right price. I dont think i have came across a logitech product worth less than what it was sold for. Theyre not the best products, but for sure a good brand.
I've had a G29 since late 2018. Used it for more than 5 years and perfectly did the job. It started getting a bit old tho (drove A LOT with it, smth around 70-80k miles I think), so I've changed it for a Moza R5.
Only problem I had with the G29 were the pedals, I replaced them after a year or so with Asetek Forte pedals. A few months back I tried a Direct drive and ever since then I want to replace my G29. It's great for the price though, you can't expect a $300 wheel + pedal set to come to ranks of Simucube.
Even when I upgraded with a Fanatec and the Turtle Beach V1 Race, I still kept and currently use my G923 (even went out and bought the shifter). The TrueForce gives it a little extra fidelity in the wheel where other entry level wheels don’t. Hands down best budget wheel on the market.
I tell alot of times, the simracing snobs are the greatest gatekeepers, complain about everything, talk down to ppl that don´t have high-end expensive sets, talk crap if you point out problems in their favorite sim and attack you if you don´t hold the same opinions. They even do that to real world race drivers lol.
Logitech steering wheels like the G29, G920, and even the older G27 are fantastic options for most people. They’re reasonably priced at around $550 AUD, especially when you compare it to an elite controller at $250. If you’re moving from an Xbox controller and getting into sim racing, these wheels are a natural next step. They have great modding support from the community, letting you customize your setup. Plus, the lower price point means it’s less risky to mod, making it perfect for those who want to get into the hobby without spending a ton. While they aren’t top-tier like Fanatec, they are still very good and can be competitive, especially with mods. hell that's what I've done. and honestly I actually prefer to some of the lower cost fanatec options since it feels right for me
I’ve still got my G923 even after getting a Fanatec DD and the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Race. I hook it up for any of my guests that like to casually race.
5 years of my g29 and she still works the same as when i got her, paid 100 quid recently for loadcell brakes and a fresh potentiometer for the accelerator but other than that, same enjoyment for so long. Its a great device. Would i buy a dd if i could afford it? Yes. Am i not having fun because of that fact? Absolutely not.
Im buying one tomorrow used for only £150 it may not be anything wild but im a student times are tough. Just wanna be able to cruise and race with more immersion than a controller
I got a G923 and I love it! I did get to drive with a direct drive wheel recently and I will say the experience is better and I definitely want one but I’m satisfied until I can afford the direct drive.
I have a g920 for my set up because I tried it at my buddy’s house and it was one of the coolest experiences ever because I never even seen a sim racing set up irl,so when I saw the price I knew it was the one for how good it felt for the price it was, people think you have to have the newest and most expensive stuff to be competitive, but some people just want to have fun for a affordable price
I also have a G29, and for the price it really isn't bad at all. Honestly, it's made so that the average gamer who might want to try out sim racing can try it out with an affordable option, and he can just set it up on his gaming desk. That's the way I perceive it, and if he/she loves it, you continue upgrading(and regret spending money every upgrade you make). That's what its made for
Tbf the biggest difference between top-en wheels and cheap ones (meeting the minimum requirement of having force feedback) is that the expensive one gives more realistic feedback and you need less time to be fast with it, like it reduces the time you take from using it from the first time to the moment when you can really be fast on it
I had a Logitech G27, and for the price is was absolutely fantastic, I'm saving up to get a T300RS now since my skill level was limited by the G27, but to start it's a great wheel
I also have a g920 and I love it. I’m sure I’d enjoy the extra force feedback a little bit but I don’t know if I’d get a whole extra 2-300 dollars worth of enjoyment to get it. It’s a perfect entry level wheel and I love it and I don’t blame you for loving it either.
I used a Logitech wheel for years and it was great. I did upgrade to the R5 recently though. And I’m happy I did. No more loud rumbles. But I can see why people would stick with the Logitech wheel. It’s not bad for the price and is still just as fun to use as any other wheel. I also upgraded cause I wanted an F1 wheel. Not a mod for the wheel but a real F1 wheel.
I started with a Momo Racing Force and drove in many leagues with my trusty old G27 that started to make horrible noises but is still in use by a friend of mine after about 12 years. Haven't heard of many Fanatec products lasting that long sadly...
Drove 5 years on this wheel before i switched to a DD and it was totaly fine for the money! Im surprised that it even lasted that long (for its build-quality).
I made it into the top 12 sim racers in my country and competed in a pro esports event and I still have a g29. It has its short comings for sure but it makes you really precise. I found that it was easier for me to handle the car on a dd system when i was competing. Some others spun out too. So yeah its a good starter wheel
I ran the G27 for almost 9 years. Then I was lucky enough to win championship on iRacing with it. Winning a complete direct drive MOZA Racing full top end racing bundle. So yes you can be competitive.
I have a g920 and it is the perfect wheel. You get all the immersion of a 10k wheel for 300 bucks. It has 900 degrees of rotation, reliable force feedback, compatible with basically every game. It’s plug and play, and it works well with VR. The only problem I see is that to use Logitech pedals or shifter you have to have the wheel as a base. But overall it’s an amazing wheel
The good thing is that because of the Logitech wheels. there's actually quite a lot of mods for both the shifter and pedals to make them really good which in my use doing the mods is actually increase my joy of using the wheel tenfold since the wheel itself feels great and adding the mods has been the shifter and pedals also feel good
I really like my G920. Finally got to fulfill my dreams and get a “real” sim racing wheel, pedals, and shifter setup. Now all I need is the sim rig lol.
NLR wheel stand 2.0 is really good just a bit pricy theirs also the omega GT. Getting a solid mounting point was just as big of a leap for me as switching to direct drive.
I started with a lower end wheel but I got to tell you guys direct drive is so much better. try and look for used equipment in your area regardless of what route you take for your first wheel
The first upgrade I made after getting my g920 was get new pedals. Completely changed the game. I’ve now upgraded everything and no longer use the g920 but no upgrade felt as drastic as the better pedals
I don't know what people expect from an entry-level beginner wheel. I think it's great for the price

Didn’t send the proper Quick release and a firmware update bricked my pedals. Also the shaft my steering wheels go on can come loose and need to be placed back a re tightened. (But their customer service was helpful through all of it)
I bought mine in 2018 and it's been fine for me ever since. I dunno why others don't like it when not everyone has the accessibility to get a steering wheel for driving/racing games geez.
Yup I have this wheel and it's perfect for me. Don't need to spend crazy money.
That’s my opinion too I don’t want some trash $80 dollar wheel that’s just gonna be disappointing but I sure as shit am not spending 7 to 8 grand to drive cars in a video game
I don't have 13k to buy a full-blown racing Sim however I had enough for a Logitech g29 and I've thoroughly enjoyed it I drive on average 8hours a day on that wheel and it's never skipped a beat
too fuckin much

Logitech g920/g29 are probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to entry level racing wheels. If you have a 3d printer you can make it even better.
3D Printer??? Ooh what for?
@@NPCLiam you can print some mods for it. Like my g920 has an f1 style wheel, upgraded the pause, share, RB, and LB button, and converted the paddle shifter magnetic.
This is the same level of "built vs bought" in the real world and not behind simulators. I think its absolutely better to buy something cheap and modify it instead of paying tons of money for something that probably won't even fit most people's style.
@@royliber3824 Nah. Directly getting a T300/TX is a much better choice than modding the crap out of a G29/G920.
G29 user here btw.
The g920 is a perfect budget wheel. You have compatibility with almost every racing game, the FFB is decent to begin in Sim racing and the pedals are way better than the competence of it's price.
I remember that my first wheel doesn't even have FFB and it just had 270° of rotation
I started on the g923 and I loved it so much it kept going and through me into the hobby. Now rocking a moza r9 and loving it
Ikr the g920 is perfectly fine, I have a g923 it’s not so high end but I’m still having a great time and being competitive
I won a G27 at timetrial race in a local electronics store. It was my first ffb wheel and it served me well for many years.
Logitech comin in clutch 🎮🛥️
Literally. Some companies do not include the clutch.
Im pretty sure everyone who says that Logitech is trash has never even touched a sim racing wheel in their lifetime LMAO
its ass, tx/t300 already much better and now the cammus c5 is here..
@@danielh9981 Calm down mate, not everyone has a few thousand laying around. Hell, at that price you may as well buy a real car. The logitech is a beginner/cheap wheel, ofcourse it aint gonna preform top of the line for £180-300

Dawg I love that setup, I don’t know much about feedback but I also use a shifter which is a whole lot more fun that the pedal shifters
I started on a g920. It’s super fun for what it is and very good for the price.I have upgraded from there but it’s one of if not the best entry level wheel
Bro, any higher than £500, and I'll just go buy myself a car 😂

I used to use a Logitech g920 and frankly I loved the wheel itself, I just hated the cheap pedals
thats weird because the pedals for that price are probably the best, because they are out of metal
Weird cuz only the gear shifter feels a bit cheap the pedals are metal and feels like VW golf pedals
Still have a driving force pro from like 2005, still works. Logitech ftw
People forget that hobbies can be enjoyed at all financial levels.
Bought my G27 6 years ago or so. Still works fine. It just needs a new leather coat
I bought one last year HAHAHAHA It's the BEST!
I've had my G27 for 10 years and I love it but yes it's dated and the tech isn't there. I would love to get into a dd wheel, but my G27 has a special place in my heart
I have a g29 great wheels. Can’t wait for the DD logi wheel
The Pro does look super rad for sure. Stoked for the larger Logitech ecosystem to start showing up as well.
1k bucks
It's not good for it's price
@@peth775 How so? Mine works perfectly.
I just bought mine today, and I'm gonna be getting a nice little rig for it since everything hurts when i use it with my desk chair, but it's a really nice entry-level wheel that doesn't break the bank. I feel like with a little foldable rig it would work perfectly.
As someone with a G27 it’s doing just fine, I really do really it had more ffb though
If you dont plan on going full race cockpit mode, i highly suggest getting this wheel
When you manage to dodge the QC issues, yeah.
I've had a G29 since late 2018. Used it for more than 5 years and perfectly did the job.
It started getting a bit old tho (drove A LOT with it, smth around 70-80k miles I think), so I've changed it for a Moza R5.
I still have my g27 (with some mods) and i still love it.
I have a g25 and i drive better than some ppl on fanatecs😂
@bless4837 He used the word some. Since when having better setup makes you better driver?
The fact somone says it so bad while he doesn’t have anything💀
I got it for Christmas and i love it, i am a beginner and i think it is a super good starter wheel
I use my G29 to play Euro truck simulator and asseto corsa, everybody has to start somewhere.
I used the logitech for almost 2 years, it's still a great wheel and I still learned a lot on it
Been using them for over 10 yrs now.first the g25 and then g29..both are great wheels for the price..it’s a great starter bundle
I have the g920 irl, and it’s hella fun. I got a racing setup for it and I absolutely love it.
Im glad the g920 exists. Saved me a lot of money figuring out that a hobby i thought i would enjoy turned out to not quite be my thing
I had the logitech g920 and its an absolute blast!! Espacially when you are a beginner sim racer👌🏻
Just got my g29 and I love it. It's not top line by any means but for an intro to Sim racing it's amazing.
I have it as a beginner, now im like advanced and still play on it i love it
I also have a G29, and for the price it really isn't bad at all. Honestly, it's made so that the average gamer who might want to try out sim racing can try it out with an affordable option, and he can just set it up on his gaming desk. That's the way I perceive it, and if he/she loves it, you continue upgrading(and regret spending money every upgrade you make). That's what its made for
I had this wheel before and its more than enough to have fun with its good for the money
Facts I have it as well it's actually extremely fun
Just bought the whole setup for around $250 used on Amazon 😊 can’t wait to use it.
Tbf the biggest difference between top-en wheels and cheap ones (meeting the minimum requirement of having force feedback) is that the expensive one gives more realistic feedback and you need less time to be fast with it, like it reduces the time you take from using it from the first time to the moment when you can really be fast on it
GODAMN THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL SETUP THE WOOD LOOKS SO GOOD BRO
THANK YOU BRO
I had a Logitech G27, and for the price is was absolutely fantastic, I'm saving up to get a T300RS now since my skill level was limited by the G27, but to start it's a great wheel
I also have a g920 and I love it. I’m sure I’d enjoy the extra force feedback a little bit but I don’t know if I’d get a whole extra 2-300 dollars worth of enjoyment to get it. It’s a perfect entry level wheel and I love it and I don’t blame you for loving it either.
G920 is an amazing entry level wheel bud it was where I started, on the g920.
I have 40+ wins in 200 starts on iracing because of this wheel. I truly has been a life changing strategy to own this wheel and not the 923
I made it into the top 12 sim racers in my country and competed in a pro esports event and I still have a g29. It has its short comings for sure but it makes you really precise. I found that it was easier for me to handle the car on a dd system when i was competing. Some others spun out too. So yeah its a good starter wheel
@@vijayharidas5534 THATS WHATS UP
I ran the G27 for almost 9 years.
The good thing is that because of the Logitech wheels. there's actually quite a lot of mods for both the shifter and pedals to make them really good which in my use doing the mods is actually increase my joy of using the wheel tenfold since the wheel itself feels great and adding the mods has been the shifter and pedals also feel good
I personally am super happy with my G920. It basically works as soon as I plug it in with no messing around, its cheap, and its amazing to play with.
Love the low hassle of it for sure.
@@NPCLiam That and everyone always rags on the force feedback, it isnt even that terrible.
Exactly! everyone is saying it's terrible but I've had my g29 for 2 weeks now and it's still so fun to Play on.
THATS WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

Yoooo waddup man! Glad to see you on the YT as well

i like how you spoke up for your self
I really like my G920. Finally got to fulfill my dreams and get a “real” sim racing wheel, pedals, and shifter setup. Now all I need is the sim rig lol.
NLR wheel stand 2.0 is really good just a bit pricy theirs also the omega GT. Getting a solid mounting point was just as big of a leap for me as switching to direct drive.
@@innocenttroll0 that’s really good to know! Since I’m so new to all the sim racing stuff I just kind went in head first lol.
I started with a lower end wheel but I got to tell you guys direct drive is so much better. try and look for used equipment in your area regardless of what route you take for your first wheel
I just started simracing a week ago with the same wheel and as a starter im fckng happy with it
The first upgrade I made after getting my g920 was get new pedals. Completely changed the game. I’ve now upgraded everything and no longer use the g920 but no upgrade felt as drastic as the better pedals
