so basically they updated the firmware to call it "trueforce" and shipped it as a brand new product. Nice.
And painted it black (rolling stone's reference?)

Can't believe Logitech are dropping this shit and charging an extra $300 (NZD) over the G29 price. Still not even belt driven.
I saw a fanatec csl elite for that price. It was used, but I think that it is still a better deal than the g923
How is this $300 more expensive? In UK it's extra £20 compared to G29/920
CMDR Evil is assume it’s mostly down to shipping as the new ones aren’t readily available in NZ yet, whereas the old ones are.
@@DerHeigler There is no way someone is selling a CSL elite for half the price during these times, lmao. They are hard enough to get at msrp of $550. You might have seen a TM set. Fanatec is wayyyyy more expensive.

direct drive would be asking to much at $400? Asking $400 for a steering wheel designed in 2005 is too much.
They are selling the pitiful shifter separate too for 60-USD and I even known this after I gotten my G29. It's no different from the G27 with no improvements besides the buttons being moved away from it.
You're better off with an Fanatec set-up for around $800.
Direct drive is too much for 400. But at least a belt driven would be great at this price
If I worked at Logitech I would be ashamed to release a product that has old design, not enough new feafures and is basically the same as ghr old one spec wise.

@@MattsPaddock using one myself it is easy for me to believe :P no deadzone, pedals working fine, no mods whatsoever
G25 here. PC and PS4 with adapter. Why change.
The break pedal actually changed its progressive now so it reacts to the amount of force you apply to it (like a real break pedal) not how far you push it like the G29.
Great video 👍 bought a G29 about 1 year ago! Glad there's no "ground breaking" reason to upgrade 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Yeah, I don't see the point either.
If you have a hard mounted setup, you can always add a transducer shaker (ie. silent subwoofer or 'butt kicker') attached under your desk. That's what I have. You also need some type of amp to send the bass signal from the game. A regular subwooder adds sound (and vibration); the transducer just adds vibration. Works great and adds feel like the engine rumble that regular ffb doesn't provide. It actually feels great in my setup. Not sure how the G923 compares with its effects, but seems like they are trying to achieve a similar thing.
theres not even any groundbreaking upgrades to go from a g25 to a g29 its still basically the same unit from 2005
Still going strong with my DFGT 💪🏻😂
That wheel is a beast. I will admit there is quite an upgrade in FFB with a G920 or equivalent. Still wouldn’t overpay for any of those though
Had that as a kid, it was amazing 👌
same here. pedals suck but im getting my money's worth
i've used it 3 generations now, i think by the end of the 4th i'd be ready to buy my last wheel ever lol
Still one of the best deals I've had!!
Same✊🏾
Looking at the price, I recommend just getting a thrustmaster, more customizable. Or if you have the money get a fanatec wheel, they have already been confirmed to work with the ps5 and series x.
Yeah the fact that they still haven’t upgraded the pedals is sad
Link? For proof they said it works with PS5? I can't find it anywhere. It's the only reason I haven't bought one recently.
@@panadatm They did though, they added a ~load cell~ SPRING in the brake and have adjusted the clutch and gas. TekTick did not do very good research on this kit.
@@evolicious if they did, great! To think they were just gonna rehash and only add 1 tech (trueforce), would had been abismal
Sup dude ! Can you help me out? I wanna join the steering wheel community! Ive been drifting for years on controller, but forza and nfs are not realistic enough, so i tried the more realistic games, asetto, project cars, etc... And theyre hard with controller, i want to be more smooth, etc.. Which wheel would u prefer for drifting? I of course need clutch + shifter too. Thanks for the help!
The only thing that sucks is they never improved the mounting clamp design that dates all the way back to the G25 and earlier. There is a very small window between too loose, where the force feedback will shake the wheel off your desk, and too tight, where you break one of the clamp arms off. Once you break a clamp arm, you have to completely disassemble your wheel to replace them. And support doesn't always have this part to send you. C'mon Logitech! Please improve this! Try metal reinforced plastic. You don't have to go full-on metal arms. You can mold the plastic shape around a simple metal "L"-shaped rod that would make it more difficult to break.
never had this issue before. you just need to tighten your wheel more. skill issue
For 499, forget it.
For 299, it's a nice purchase if you already don't own a G29.
The G923 is $399, dummy. Also, the older g29/g920 go for $300-$350 new.
for $199-$249, maybe. $299 is still way too high for this outdated wheel imo.
@@evolicious No you dummy. the older g29 go for 160 on a sale.
@@kevineis9088 $160??? lmao. No, definitely not. I'm in the process of selling my g902 and it can't be found for under $350 right now. Especially a time when sim hardware is sold out everywhere and is exorbitantly expensive.
I live in a big city in the US too, so it's not like im in a 3rd world that has a nonexistent electronics trade commission.
EVOLICIOUS How much are you thinking about selling yours for? I happen to be looking for one lol.
One option they can consider is making a f1 style steering mod, similar to thrustmaster. Logitech already in partnership with Mclaren F1 team

Hey G25 can I copy your homework?
Yeah but change it a little so it won't be obvious you copied.

I still use my G25 'till this day 😅. Still works fine and was able to get it to work on PS4 with Cronusmax Plus. Except for the button layout, what is actually significantly different between all these steering wheels?
I see they're still selling the g25 just with more buttons.
Majkemi
My thoughts exactly
It's a different product with different internals, you need to actually go read specs and watch videos form people willing to review it properly. TekTick doesn't understand how to review tech.
@@evolicious Well aren't you a nice person....
@@evolicious You know I had a logitech driving force gt, logitech g25, and now g27, and I've seen the internals of a g29 and they're all exactly the same, except g27 and up don't use straight cut gears so their ffb is slightly worse
Its same ffb system, same nm torque, same motors, same pedals... expected more from Logitech, disappointing
Nope. All wrong. It's a very different FFB system with higher quality materials with the added trueforce hardware. Different motors too that have a stronger FFB. The added haptic feedback is made to help read the road as a real fly-by-wire would feel. Please learn how to read, before you learn how to type.
EVOLICIOUS well most games currently dont support truforce yet so i guess truforce feature is useless right now
@@evolicious improvement is minimal after 5 years and trueforce is only for simcades... iracing? rfactor? atm 1? RBR?
For real simracers is basically g29-27 with other firmware
@@evolicious So they made harder plastic, made the wheel stronger ??? not from what ive read and added rumble motors so they don't need to add to much support for games that have rumble anyway they just need to add it to there "truedrive" software and then put the price up by$200 lol. T300 is a way way better option, i went from a g29-T300 and now simucube and the T300 was levels above these wheels.
@@pablorojas658 Did you watch the video it is already supported by Iracing and ACC
I just bought a g29 recently and the only thing I noticed physically that’s different than the older revision g29 is the metal at the top of the wheel is blue now instead of silver. Love this wheel setup though especially for the price.
Are you sure about that ? Because I’m still very confused.. I bought a PlayStation version but the metal at the top is silver..
And still no loadcell brake... jeez for the price they ask that would have been the minimum to add
I was hoping for that too 😟
@Gaming Central Plays well a simple 50KG loadcell with a PCB doesn't cost more than 50 bucks and a 200$ increase for a changed FFB engine is a tad much
I don't think any wheel maker is selling a package with loadcell brake at this price point. Seems like an unrealistic expectation.
They could however have more options instead of forcing you to buy the 1 package they have, with no easily removable/swappable steering wheel.
lmao, loadcell would put this kit well into the $500+ range.
@Gaming Central Plays and they doubled the price without one. This is a money grab due to rise in online Sim Racing
They could've added a pushable horn like they did with the Driving force GT
All these new features means nothing when racing in VR. So I will be happy to keep racing with my G920. Thanks for this video. :)
Thanks for watching!
i really wish they have taken care of the horrible high pitch whistling when turning left on some models of the g29.
Same motors, brushed, and brushes are loud especially when it's cold.
Great vídeo! I still have my G25, which I bought back in 2008... Still works like a charm👍
Thanks for watching!
Me too, it just don't want to break down 🤣
So technically they are selling a g25 again...
First time coming to your channel.. the quality of the video and the way you explained things are top notch.. great work
Thank you!
Still using my G25. No problems at all since 2007.
Finally someone who can spell "Assetto Corsa Competizione" properly. :D
Thank youuuuuu. My neighboring country speaks that language 😁
You are so cool
A bigger wheel ,handbrake support and sequential shifter option back would of made this "update" worth while .
So in conclusion pay $400 to tickle ur palms
Haptic feedback does make a difference if you are driving to read terrain. More so with dirt and wet asphalt on high quality compound rubber.
@@evolicious So a phone vibrator costs 200 dollars?
It also has a progressive spring brake, which feels a lot better still, get a thrustmaster
Man, the ignorance. It's literally translating physics output into FFB, something we didn't have at this price point before. People who go the g29 are going for the gear driven where its a bit more aggressive feeling compared to the smoothness of belt driven wheels, increasing the realism. The fact that he felt uncomfortable was good I think, cause that's how it is irl as rubble and gravel vibrate your wheel.
@@kdrag7560 It's much more advanced than that.
Wait the g29 is a rebranded g27 wich in it self is an improved g25, so the g923 is just an improved g25 !?
Wtf!?
PC-Broke lol at that point just glue some popsicle sticks to your controller and you got a Logitech g105869 lol
Great review , watched this as looking at getting my 1st wheel to go along with Psvr2 . I will be going for the G29
Tele2, I did not expect to see that one.. but it was great review and it's good to know that a month ago, my purchase of T300Rs with gear shift and new pedals was a good buy and it didn't get buried by new logitech generation, which didn't change much.. (it's basically exactly the same)
Thanks for watching!
m8 its basically the same as the g25 (very little has changed in 15 years)
any thrustmaster wheel is a FAR better option
I bought G29 around 3 years ago still works very well.
I have wondered should i buy a new belt driven wheel might soon go for a Fanatec etc but i need to buy some flight/space sticks and stuff first
And i also need an wheel mainly for ETS2/ATS so not in a hurry as G29 is quite enough for that and it surely does have enough buttons for trucking
G923 REALLY was an let down cash grab
I learned a lesson in life, every new technology risks being unreliable and expensive to repair in after a few years. Car enthusiasts know what I'm talking about.
G923 has +'s and -'s:
+ Extreme reliability, durability, solidness, economy and reasonable price point.
- I expected them to implement huge changes due to the major insane technological advancements during the last 15 years: (examples: hall magnetic sensors, load cells, hydraulic pedals, belt wheels, direct drive wheels, game telemetry FFB, analogue paddles, magnetic shifters, tactile gear sticks, motion simulators...).
I learned something from g27 to g29, the goal in logitech is the main stream, to have the entry wheel, if you want to have more precision, try the fanatec wheels, or simucube with direct drive, but the logitech is a good start in sim racing
Ps: i own a g27 but expect the g29 to have more ffb response and to rotate 1080 which never happened, so i bought a direct drive with load cell pedals which is way better
@@GabrielDuarte654
No they are not with the rattling gear and numb deadzone at center. Thrustmaster is a good start for sim racing.
@@1barnet1 i live in brazil, and logitech is way cheaper, but i'm a hardcore simracer so i accepted to pay more for better equipment
@@GabrielDuarte654
What does the T300 cost in Brasil or the T150 with the T3PA pedals? Even the T150 has better force feedback then this.
@@1barnet1 You're not putting cost into consideration, Thrustmaster is smoother and Fanatec is stronger, but they are not same as reliable as Logitech's and I tried them ALL (yes all).
Well for me who run in the pass the xbox G920... The G923 is a more finish product with harder brake feel, more selectors with LED RPM and most important of all a real LAUNCH CONTROL with programmable cluth. True Force is no big deal right now, but maybe in the future it's gonna be nice to have with future racing games!!! Yeah, it's arround $200 more then a G920, but you have a more finish upgrade wheel package... Let's said a 2.0 version of the solid G920 budget simracing set-up! The overall experience of the G923 xbox one x is simply a better wheel and more polish in all aspect... The launch control is a must to have in Formula racing!!!
7:05 - That downshift hurt me physically
😂😂😂😂 Don't worry, no engines were harm during the process of this review!
That was on purpose so you can hear how it rumbles 😬
Why do I love hes accent so much?? you know, when he says assetto corsa competizione.
when I read about Logitech launching this wheel, I thought it would be at the very least a belt driven system. This comes across as the same system they have been using for ages now, only with even more options to rattle. I'm not upgrading to this one, since this isn't realy an upgrade imo and certainly doesn't warrant the price, which is quite steep for a gear driven system if you ask me.
You missed the brake pedal spring compared to the old rubber block. Big upgrade.
A gear-drive is not force feedback... it basically predates force feedback. For this price tag it should feature a belt-drive minimum. Also the pedals... still no load-cell :( Sorry but, what was a nice entry-level wheel with an OK price tag is now just no option anymore. This TRUEFORCE HD AUDIO Feature is... something like a gimmick that backfires. Imho it is better to just invest a little more than 400€ and get a proper belt-driven wheelbase with wheel and pedals from Fanatec - and if you are not sure if Simracing is for you, get a cheaper G29 or G27 as long as it is around :)
Yes, just buy a $1100+ beginner fanatec kit, im sure people looking to pay no more than $400 will agree with you. /s
Are you stupid? Or do you just not understand wear and tear on belt driven systems? You do know that you need high quality materials for something like that to last, right? High quality materials are not cheap. Same with load cell, you are looking at another $200 for a load-cell system. Again, something that 99% of simmers do not buy/can't afford, or even know exists.
What you are asking for is a fanatec system under $1000-$500, and that is just not possible. Come back in 5-10 years, kid.
If you have a G920, G29, T300. Or maybe the TMX. Or any other wheels cheaper than this, keep it and save for a Fanatec or something.
400$ for a gear-driven wheel...

these rock, I was going to go Fanatec until I figured how much everything would be. I don't think I gave up that much. These are great for the money
Plus to have 3 pedals with fanatec and gear knob it’s going to cost around £1000 over 300 for these…..
This wheel is supposed to support the haptic feedback for Gran Turismo on PS5 from what I understand, that is the point of it. Thanks for the video, if the pedals are just regular pedals, I don't really see the point in buying this. Thrustmaster is a little more expensive but way worth it
Your ACC settings for the G29/923 are not the ideal ones. These are the optimal settings according to Aris (their physics engineer):
Gain: 100%
Min Force: 12% to 14%
Damping: 30% to 40%
Road: Pretty low, like 8%
The new pedals are much better for a budget setup. The 2 stage clutch is useful where it can be used.
Im a bit confused because i just bought a G29 and it looks like the left one but with the blue band that is on the right one. I think i bought the G29 at the time they were producing the G23. So they may all have the blue now

Bought the g923 yesterday, using it on xbox one s and I have 0 complaints!
For this price point, I would have expected brushless force-feedback motors. Brushed motors are cheap as dirt to manufacturer and the brushes/commutator wears out quickly in this mode of operation. My experience over the past 20 years has learned that Logitech products are grossly over-priced, cheaply made, and don't work all that well. Their webcams are very expensive and have a lousy picture compared to many other much cheaper brands/models.
funny. Ive read comments of Logi wheels withstanding the test of time. I myself bought a used Driving force gt, a product released from 2007 and maybe ended production in 2015
Bought my G29 for 299€ incl. shifter and got 50€ back because it had some scratches as the screw of the metal ring came lose in shipping. That's a good price for it I'd say.

Game worked great a month ago no issue and other games like F1 2021 work fine no issue.
No, there's a difference in the brakes
Nuh uh😅
Did they patch the pedals
Great video, thanks! :) About to buy my first steering wheel, any recommendations?
I think at this price point t300rs is still better option.
Sure it is...for seen on The web , the G293 still uses the double helicoidal FFB motors as the G25 with now a copy of the sound vibrating system like the Trusthmaster T-GT has .
For that price range I expected at least belt drive FFB motors as the t300 (100 bucks less) o the Fanatec CSL Elite (100 bucks more)
Fanatec & Thrustmaster has already cell brakes with magnetic sensors..
And the throttle pedal of the G293 isn't lineal as the spec list on the website from Logitech says..

Total blatant rip-off compared to cost of previous model and hardly adds anything - they were too lazy to even give it a facelift to hide the fact. But hey it has some new logos, the gear lever noise click is different and "it tickles your palms". If it tickled something else it might help justify the pricing. On the plus side it has made my current model worth more as a second hand sale ! I bet the price drops in no time because at those prices I would not think twice about spending a bit extra for direct drive.
Impressed for the correct pronunciation of "Assetto Corsa Competizione" 😲
Grazie mille!
Basically they added a rev meter and a brake spring and upped the price $100 to now $400. Are they still using a serial port plug from the 90s? Or have they finally switched to USB? No detachable rim? Does Logitech hate it's customers?
At this point, it's just better to get an used G25/G27 for a cheaper price and mod it however you like...
Hopefully the pedals won't need cleaning every now and then... This is the only "problem" I have with my g29, and I wanted them to upgrade their quality there...
I know that this is a common problem, but for some reason, I haven't had that problem. Yet. 😂
@@MattsPaddock We got quite a lot of dust here in Greece. I bought an electric screwdriver just to remove and put back on the 24-26 screws the pedals have, every 3 months or so when the problem occurs... It either presses a little bit of throttle or brake by itself, or never reaches the 100% mark when fully pressed...
Oh, I see! Thanks for the feedback!
Just get a T300. The FFB is miles ahead, it's quieter and it's more customisable
but thrustmasters brake down like crazy. i got the T300 after reading many reviews of problems, and just after 1h of use it started making annoying noises af if there is oil missing inside te wheel. refunded and decided to not buy any wheel.
YES! They finally made a new wheel! Ive had mine for 3 yr and its showing it too lol. I was thinking for thrustmaster as I do like to swap around after a while but this looks really cool now that the have made the xbox version have the same button layout! Didnt really make any sense as to why they didnt add the same button layout to each wheels
Defo go thrustmaster. For the price of 400 this wheel is far too expensive for essentially a g25 with different buttons. The belt system is far better in the thrustmaster. It’s so much more smooth compared to the clunky Logitech. Plus thrustmaster has a huge ecosystem that allows you to switch, wheels , pedals, and get shifters, handbrakes you name it. Switching from g27 to t300 was the best thing I did
@@daradevlin4093 Yeah i looked at the price and went "FUCK THAT! I could easily get a thrustmaster with that!" My g920 didnt cost that much 3 yr ago
I went from a G29 to a Fanatec CSW V 2.5. Now THAT'S an upgrade!
That's my long term plan! 😬
Hi, I just made the purchase of the G923 and hooked it up to the PS5. So far after two days of use, it feels responsive and smooth, but I am not getting the audio sound from the wheelbase or the true force on GT7, F22, and Asseto Corsa Comptetizioni. I am thinking that something is maybe wrong with the wheel, maybe I need to flick a switch on the device, or maybe its just only for PC? and simply asking if you can kindly share any feedback? Thank you so much!
For someone who is just wanting to enjoy some racing games from time to time - which is an overall good choice?
I founded a g923 for 180$
Thanks for your information,
Good video.
Classic logitech, they just don’t want to put any effort into making a proper new and improved wheel. They screwed me over with the g29 so my g27 wouldn’t work on my PS4 pro but worked perfect on my pc.At least I got a Black Friday deal on a g29 for 120 pounds.
The PS3/PS4 button braking was a big problem also. That might be another reason they updated it.
I was wondering what this trueforce thing they were talking about was cause they didn't describe it well at ALL anywhere and now I see why.
When you showed how it sounds with no speakers I realized what they were doing. They're passing audio signals into the motors to cause them to vibrate like speakers, and since it's a gear drive, it buzzes the crap out of your hands. That explains why you said it was sometimes unpleasant. I couldn't figure it out till I saw how it sounds on its own.
no wonder why they don't seem to describe how it works.
I got a G923 for 275 $ (for americans: that includes the taxes) it works excellently in most situations except in some games the force feedback is overly agressive lol, like you just touch the edge of the side of the road and the wheel takes over and tries to crash your car 😂. But it still works really well and in many games you can adjust force feedback to a level that works well!😊 As my first steering wheel it works well and is of good quality, looks good!
Im getting one for 180$
Still have the L2, L3, R2 and R3 buttons in the WORST possible place on the wheel. So difficult to access while trying to drive.
this was as really good overview with lots of good info
but this is still basically just a G25 which released in 2006 (not much has changed internally since then except using a HAL sensor, the g25 and g27 used optical sensors)
it's still a gear/rack and pinion setup which in this day and age is archaic tech.
"trueforce" fking LOL
It's not a 2-step brake anymore. That's why it doesn't feel like one. Just read the product page that you linked...
I got a brand new G29 yesterday and my center steering wheel marker is blue, not silver. I must have an updated version or something!
Not enough of an upgrade for me to justify spending £300-£400. I'd like to see a slightly bigger diameter wheel, belt driven and a more realistic brake pedal.
I think I'll go thrustmaster next.
The upgrade makes more sense if you're an Xbox user because the G920 lacks a lot of buttons and the rev indicator
Yup!
Just bought G29 from Argos, was just starting to have fun on Project Cars 2 annnnnnd oh the up gear button doesn't work but gear down does... sigh back to Argos...
For Xbox players this is a win, we never got the Rev indicators or the knobs in the first place
At launch, only four racing titles are completely compatible with the G923 including Grid (2019), Assetto Corsa Competizione, Gran Turismo Sport and iRacing
imo if it doesn't self steer faster and harder than the g29 it's not worth going for a logitech upgrade, I have a g29 it's good when I'm racing, but I can see the limit of the rig when it does take time to self steer while sliding in a sim like AC, easy to help the wheel in forza but scary in a sim without braking the wheel. I rather see them improve motors, gears and software than making it do sounds and tickles!
Logitech phoning it in with ZERO effort. Bravo?
Looks like the only reason to choose the g923 might be if you were looking to buy the previous xbox g920, as you would get the extra controls from the g29 playstation wheel... albeit for a price.
