Have you heard the development teams comments on Mega Man's absence and how Mega Man 11 came to be? It's pretty interesting. It sums up to nobody wanting to take the mantle when it came to Mega Man because of the legacy behind it. And when they had gotten a director, before the games development he made them play every Mega Man game, including X6. Pretty cool how dedicated they were to delivering a great game.
At least the game didn't make me cry like an anime fan on prom night
The devs from Megaman 11 did say in an interview that they didn’t know how to make or develop a classic Megaman game because Inifune left. That’s why it took them this long
Please never stop using that shot of shadow Wily laughing
Glad this game came out as good as it is. Hope we get an X9 out of this.
My favorite Mega Man game is a tie between 9/11.
Mega Man 11 should just be called SPEED GEAR
“Let’s hope it’s not a one night stand” well guess mega man dosent love us
Fun Fact, Tundra Man is actually a Cossack robot.
The Director of this game was at the Mega Man 11 booth at E3 earlier this year. I finish the demo and I thought to myself, " Man, this level kicked my ass". I walked out of the booth and the Director ask me how the demo was, I responded, "I didn't get to finish it, the demo was tough". The Director said, "This is how we know that we're doing something right. Thank you for playing ". I think back to what he said and am excited to play Mega Man 11 because I've been looking forward to the series to spike up the difficulty and this didn't disappoint
Somewhere out there, Inafune weeps...
8 years later, and Capcom proves that they still know what to do with Mega Man.
Capcom after Inafune's departure:

From what I understand from numerous interviews with Mega Man 11 development team, Keiji Inafune was basically the only person at Capcom who wanted to do anything with Mega Man. Most of the upper management didn't see the Mega Man series as a very profitable franchise especially when compared to other Capcom franchises, so once Inafune left, Capcom were more than willing to cancel most of the Mega Man projects going on. Then for years, no one could really say they wanted to make a new Mega Man game until Koji Oda, MM11 director, finally decided to step up and be the one to do it. The sales numbers of Legacy Collection was also what probably convinced the upper management at Capcom that the Mega Man series was brand still worth investing in.

Small detail, but I like how in the Robot Master bios, they show the manufacturer companies that made them
“Confound these balloons, I just want my damn energy drink!”
