I don’t think he knows how to kindle them at this point in the run. He did it once in Sen’s Fortress when chat guided him through the whole process of restoring humanity and kindling, and he noticed that he had 10 estus, but I don’t think it ever clicked in his head that kindling is what caused him to have 10 estus. So technically, I guess he knows how to kindle bonfires, but he didn’t realize why he should. Even though the game tells you at the beginning and he ignored all messages and tutorial notifications... props to him for staying true to the blind run and not looking it up, though.

In my first playthrough I didn't kindle a single bonfire, 5 estus flasks were enough for me to get to another bonfire or to kill a boss (sometimes I used 1 humanity in a boss fight, but it happend only 2 times, with the gaping dragon and stray demon)
the room with the pinwheel servants and baby skeletons was way cooler and a bit harder than the actual pinwheel fight, i wish they made that the fight instead

Don't give up man, this is a game series that tests players to their limits, there is a reason difficult games get compared to dark souls. Perseverance, patience, pattern recognition, memorisation of move sets (yours and your opponents), situational awareness, and that's just the battling of the game. The souls management, levelling properly, finding your way through the game, nothing in this game series is easy, and nothing is linear, every single enemy in this game has the potential to kill you.
I agree, kind of, it's the learning curve that's hard. Once you know the game and it's mechanics it's incredibly easy but until that point it's definitely a struggle.
Some may already know this, but the black knights were blackened by the flames of demons during the war against the flame of chaos. The Witch who held the lord soul of flame tried to use it to create a new age of fire, but she lost control and it thus created the flame of chaos, spawning the demons. Both the Witch and her daughters of chaos were twisted beyond recognition, such a cruel fate indeed. Hearing McConnell bring up why the black knights were the way they are made me remember that part of the lore. It’s too bad Asmongold didn’t pay much attention to the lore during this playthrough. But it was entertaining regardless.

In former entries our boy learned that you can't always spam heavy attacks and that you must adapt to the situation, but here it is precisely that original stubbornness that led to him overcoming one of his toughest foes yet. After all, why use light attacks when heavy attacks do more damage?
A lot of the people in the chat saying he was overlevelled, but tbh he has lost like a quarter mill souls over the playthrough. He didn't even farm souls to level up or anything which suprised me even more cause I took like 10 tries to beat 4 kings in my blind playthrough@@jmkos86

But on normal circumstances, they are by no means an “easy” fight. There is a certain way to go about the fights which make it seem easy though.
I always enjoy seeing people go into the catacombs for the first time, without bringing a Divine weapon and cut their teeth on the infinitely respawning skellies

His strategy is to face tank everything, why bother learning patterns, dodging, blocking. When you can get the strongest weapon you can find, and put all your points in health, and just mash heavy attack.

Remember my first Nito. Didn't know you could stop the skeletons resurrecting so I just armored up, buffed my weapon and powered through them all. Worked out pretty well.
Nito was pretty brutal at first. I died on the first 7 or 8 attempts. I just put on more armor and rushed him and beat him during that attempt. He was a bit of a pain in the ass though.
McConnell trolled him again. That bonfire doesn’t appear until after you kill the boss, it’s the exact same with the other late-game bosses. McConnell is a great troll, he sounded very sincere.
When he said Gravelord Nito was one of his favorite boss fights ever I was so utterly amazed that someone had such an opinion. Nito was easily the most disappointing boss for me.

@@ziel8602 The thing with darksouls is it stops being hard about midgame because of all your wandering and levelling. Halfway through the first playthrough you tend to be a god. Funily enough in ng+ you start off as a god then get your ass handed to you midway through it. If the game combined the first half of the original playthrough with the second half of a new game plus the difficulty would feel balanced all the way through.

very entertaining but also a little turn off when you catch him playing badly for content for example 1:29:27 , he's skipping the mobs to rush to the boss, at 1:29:30 when you stop you can see the entrance to the boss fight pretty obvious and also you can see his eyes moving to the right side of his screen spotting the entrance but then decide to stop going up to the entrance and runs in a completly wrong direction as an act to entertain the chat who find it hilarious when he misses the complete obvious and goes very wrong ways. He knows very well about this and purposly does things like this because he knows that is what keeps the people invested into his stream, making fun off him. There is a chance I might be wrong of course but things like this are just very weird and that's my personal guess. I don't blame him for it, it's his job to entertain as a streamer or atleast he decided to do that as his content, still very well played pretending/acting.

@@ziel8602 The thing with darksouls is it stops being hard about midgame because of all your wandering and levelling. Halfway through the first playthrough you tend to be a god. Funily enough in ng+ you start off as a god then get your ass handed to you midway through it. If the game combined the first half of the original playthrough with the second half of a new game plus the difficulty would feel balanced all the way through.

That fucking zweihander has been carrying him so hard he barely has to learn anything
very entertaining but also a little turn off when you catch him playing badly for content for example 1:29:27 , he's skipping the mobs to rush to the boss, at 1:29:30 when you stop you can see the entrance to the boss fight pretty obvious and also you can see his eyes moving to the right side of his screen spotting the entrance but then decide to stop going up to the entrance and runs in a completly wrong direction as an act to entertain the chat who find it hilarious when he misses the complete obvious and goes very wrong ways. He knows very well about this and purposly does things like this because he knows that is what keeps the people invested into his stream, making fun off him. There is a chance I might be wrong of course but things like this are just very weird and that's my personal guess. I don't blame him for it, it's his job to entertain as a streamer or atleast he decided to do that as his content, still very well played pretending/acting.
