Great video! Very informative and helpful, as an 18 year who recently moved out and hasn't cooked much before, it's the small things like this that are so helpful!
Hey iKanso, thanks so much for the kind comment ! It really makes me happy that I could help in some small way. I will for sure be making more videos. And keep cooking !!
That’s exactly where I’m at! Learning to cook its hard to find videos that cover the ‘simple’ stuff that most people overlook
hey im 38 and this was helpful. thanks bro
I’m 30 and drunk and this video saved my life
Jesus Christ is Lord & He is coming soon. Don’t take that 💉

i just made tacos for the first time in my life with help from this and they came out great!!!! thank you so much 😭😭😭 every how to make tacos/beef video i found was always more "family recipe" than literal instructions haha, some of us need the basics!!
Yea this a good video for making ground beef for some tacos 🌮 fo sho
So when you said there was a lot of grease, it’s actually water releasing from the meat and when that happens it’s best to keep it on the stove and let it evaporate. After it evaporates you get into searing the meat, that’s where your depth of flavor comes in. When cooking ground beef in my opinion it’s best to crack open two cloves of garlic skin on, add finely chopped onion and add a sprig of thyme for a deep aromatic flavor. Then once you’ve caramelized the onions and you really get the garlic coming through toss your beef in and cook it as I said with all of the ingredients. You’ll have great taste at a low cost!
Thanks Logan for the great comment. I just made this as basic as I could. I love your ideas and maybe one day I will make a more detailed recipe like yours. Also yes there is water but I find alot of it is fat. If you dump it into a cup you can see it. Thanks so much for the comment and I will be sure to make a video and use some of your ideas
Most of it is grease and some is water too
In what temp should I leave it to evaporate
You are batshit crazy it's all fat it needs to be strained after water is added prevents things such as congestive heart failure etc
Native Cowboy You sound like such a health nut, if you’re worried about the safety concerns of adding additional flavor to meat through the Maillard reaction then don’t eat meat. Fat is not bad and you’re batshit crazy if you think so, what you’re saying to me is that you don’t like fatty things, so don’t eat meat and start drinking skim milk.
i’m getting more into lifting so i was gonna start eating more and healthier and making and eat meat more often was something i was gonna do and haven’t really made it much so this video was very helpful, thank you!!!
I gotta say, I really appreciate a video like this. Looking at recipes is extremely daunting and the whole time I'm worried I'm gonna do any part of it wrong. Thanks for this instructional wholesome video!
Wildpants I really appreciate your comment and I am glad I could help. Just keep cooking and you will get better and better every time. Thanks again for watching and I hope you have lots of amazing meals !

You’re literally a lifesaver ily
guys do not make the mistake of dumping grease or oil in a sink, it can clog up the pipes and cost you for repairs
that is all great video
Yes you should not be doing what I did it will over time clog the pipes. I forgot while making the video
So you can dump grease in garbage disposal side? Because that’s what I’ve been doing.
Also, where can I get that strainer?
So what do you suggest?
@@livelovelaugh473 I've always been told to pour it into a cup until it becomes a solid, then scoop it into the trash.

Good video. Easy way to drain fat is to move the meat to one side of the pan tip the pan slightly and take a paper towel and dip it into the fat and the paper towel will absorb the remaining fat.
Very good vid 👍🏻
Good Job man!!
I have to say, I respect you since you drain ground beef. It’s a good way to keep your family/friends healthy from the fat.
Thanks Star for the kind comment. Gotta keep it healthy !

You’re welcome 😊
Thanks. Just FYI, you have a plumber in your future. If you want to avoid that don't poor that in the pipes.
Thanks Jamie, this is true I did not think this thru during the video but I should have.
If you have any containers of heavy plastic (a common one is an empty coffee grounds container), you can pour it in there and then throw it out in the trash
@reds just make sure it’s sealed tight!
@Reds no worries... I learned this from my Grandma,(RIP) she moved to LA in the 1930s when all the houses had cheap galvanized pipe. That stuff corrodes inside. Anyway, she used to take an old Folgers tin can and poor it in there, let it harden, then throw it away.
Needed this ! I like to be extra lean
Yes extra lean is even better for you !

Yeah just put the beef in and start cooking !
My client: i would like ground beef for dinner

U saved my life I was hungry lol

No problem, thanks for watching bro !
Can you tell me is that a non stick pan, because I feel like if I do this in my skillet I will need to add oil before placing the beef because it will stick, please reply, thank you !
Only if it isn’t lean ground beef ! if it is lean I don’t think vegetable oil is needed
But I would put it anyways
Definitely put some water or some oil if you want, it’ll help especially at first and remember chop chop chop, the smaller the better because it’ll cook more evenly and faster
Those non stick pans are garbage trust me had one and everything sticks to it better off with a tfall
Hey, yes its a non stick pan. Any non stick pan will work. The meat has fat and when the fat melts it becomes oil so you do not really need oil. Also if your pan is really old they sometimes dont work anymore and things will stick.
I kinda like that seasony watery kind, how much water to add. It holds alot of freshness having kind of a broth.
If you like it more watery you can start with half a cup and cook it a little bit.
@@whowhatwherewhenhowto159 accidentally put way too much water but I seasoned after it was drained. Luckily the tacos held in a ton of moister well not having a horribly watered down season broth!
Thanks for the help!
Do you put water in it?or do u just dump it in and put it on high?
How do you get it from the strainer back to the pan?
Maybe ill have to make a part 2
Ah yes thank you
