  • I've got 3 techniques for cooking juicy, tender chicken breasts at home. I also have tips to help you avoid the pitfalls that most home cooks make, like not allowing the chicken breasts to come to room temperature before cooking. The first technique is a pan seared chicken breast, my favorite way to cook them because of the golden brown crust that forms. Next I will show you how to bake a chicken breast in the oven with a simple a flavorful spice rub. Finally I will show you the toughest technique of all, how to poach a chicken breast in a flavor packed water broth. Let me know what other basic recipes you wanna see and make sure to share! #KeepOnCooking Dessi & Bobby XOXO

    Chicken Breast:
    Step 1: Beat chicken and make it flat
    Step 2: Season chicken with salt and pepper
    Step 3: leave chicken out in room temperature for 20 minutes
    Step 3: preheat iron pan for 2 minutes on medium-high heat
    Step 4: after 2 minutes put in olive oil and make sure to coat the entire pan, then let the oil heat up for 30 seconds
    Step 5: once the olive oil starts to shimmer, lay the chicken breast on the pan and let it rest without touching it for about 4 minutes.
    Step 6: Once the sides of the chicken breast look white that means it’s about halfway done and you should flip it
    Step 7: leave cooking for 3 minutes. When you poke the chicken you can pretty much tell when it’s done, it’s firm but has a little give
    Step 8: when fully cooked take out of pan and set it on a clean surface, then leave rest for 5 minutes
    Step 9: slice it up and eat it

    Hi Bobby, I’ve lived as a single dude for many years. I’m more of a heater and not a cooker. For months at a time, I’d eat meat tortellini boiled every night. It was good but I really needed to find something else to make for dinner. This video made me want to try cooking chicken on the stove. Since seeing this last week, I’ve followed all your steps and am now having chicken very few nights. I even give the freshly cooked chicken 5 minutes to rest before I cut into it. Just wanted to thank you for expanding my menu and finally using some of this cookware that’s been sitting there for years. Cheers!

      You might get mean comments in the future about eating meat, but I just want to say that you are an omnivore and do not have to apologize for eating an omnivorous diet. Especially if the animal had a better life than it would have in the wild.

    • @LordYukimoru
      @LordYukimoru 3 роки тому +5

      I agree with ThaliaCrafts.
      I'm curious though, how did you come to decision of giving up being a vegetarian? Also, what got you into being a vegetarian in the first place?

    • @clarissa-marie
      @clarissa-marie 3 роки тому +40

      @@LordYukimoru My mom changed her life and health going Keto and after I had a bad health scare she wanted me to do Keto as well. I stopped eating meat pretty young because I never really liked it to begin with. But I knew for several years that I would need to figure out how to eat meat again. A standard vegetarian diet, FOR THE MOST PART (I stress that because I can't say this for every person's diet), is so unhealthy. Almost every vegetarian option is nothing but carbs, or overly processed foods, or filled with soy. So for years I already knew this was going to have to change....eventually. Once I made the decision to go Keto I knew it was the time and I would have to start eating meat to be able to get the proper macros intake to get into ketosis (75-80% fat, 20-25% protein and 5% carb intake). It took me a solid 3 months where I had to slowly introduce tiny bite sized pieces of meat into my diet because I had a mental issue with consuming meat. I hadn't eaten any in like 15 years so it just freaked me out and grossed me out. I don't know if 3 months seems like a long or short time to people but after watching the documentary The Magic Pill and seeing a woman who was raised vegan for extreme moral reasons now eating meat inspired me. After doing extensive research on my own since April of 2019, for me personally, Keto is the lifestyle that I choose for a healthy life and I don't plan to change that any time soon! :) (I do have to add, for anyone considering Keto, research is KEY. I don't believe it's something just to do to lose weight, it's a lifestyle that will change your health in numerous ways but if you don't have the longing to learn, it may not be for you.)

Have you heard people talk about - Pansabella Nonpareil Principle - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? You're clearly an American that buys terrible chicken for too little money, then marinade it with overpowering cheap gene-altered spices that sat on a shelf for three years to cover up the taste of chicken... Good quality poultry with salt and pepper is better what you'll ever have in your life. You eat like a child.

    Love this! A actually use a mixture of the pan and oven baked. I use the organic costco chicken, season it with oven at 350°F. I do a med- high heat in my cast iron skillet , get a good golden crust on both sides then put the whole pan in the oven and finish cooking in the oven. Usually takes about 20 minutes to oven bake, I look for juice in the pan and a good touch feel. I usually go by smell though tbh lol. Try it, you might love it! Thank you Bobby, as always I love your content ❤️ ✌️
