Very nice collection, Dale! JC Penney tools are hard to come by in my area. The complete set in the blue box is mighty impressive. Thanks for sharing your collection with us. 😉👍
Used to go to JC Penney with my Mom when I was little and have no memory of them having tools, the same mall had Sears and of course they had lots of tools.
The mall I went too also had Sears and J C Penney. Sears was loaded with tools. I don't remember Penneys having as many as Sears but there was a tool Section,We also had a outlet that collected stuff from all the stores and they always had tools.
I remember shopping at JCP with my parents. Never struck me as a place to buy tools. That was more of a Sears thing. We always went to JC Penny for clothes
We did too, I am wondering if all the Penny stores carried tools. We had a outlet store here back then and they got stuff from all over tools encluded.
Thanks Rob. the hunt is the fun part, making a kill is very satisfying. Thanks for the help couldn't have done it without everyone's help. We used the hat for a family Christmas picture one year.
Thank you David, The set is the most complete I have seen, George hooked me up with that one. The hat was a prop for a Christmas picture we had a few years ago.
Very nice and interesting video Dale - you have a nice collection. I don't see much Penncraft stuff in my area, but will sure be on the lookout for you. We have a bunch of generous people in this community for sure!
I don't remember our local JC Penney having much of a tool section. One Christmas I received a JC Penney metric 1/4 and 3/8 socket set that was housed in a metal orange case along with a 4 piece JC Penney metric open end wrench set. Sadly I no longer have them as they were stolen. A couple of years ago I picked up a very clean Penncraft 1/2 ratchet. The Penncraft ratchets were manufactured by New Britain Machine Co in New Britain CT. New Britain made the Blackhawk and Husky ratchets also. All were the same Kilness patent mechanism which were known for a smooth action and strength. They are great ratchets.
Apparent they had an extensive tool line. I,m hearing of all types of tools they sold. I have a video of a 1X42 belt sander I got from a relative a few years ago which contributed to me collecting Penncraft and J C Penny tools.
Hey Mr. Dale Love the hat! Those Penn Craft and Pennys tools aren't too common out in the wild. But you know me and the guys will keep our eyes out for them and make sure any that we find make their way to you. Good to hear you are feeling better. Take care Brother.
Thanks George, You guys are awesome and I never miss an episode of tool restoration or haul you guys put out. The hat was used for a Christmas picture a while back.
I'm 59 and lived in southwest Michigan my whole life. I grew up with craftsmen. I never knew jcpenny had tools. Then, after finding your channel and all the ones you mentioned, my wife and I started going to estate sales the beginning of this year. What fun. While in Florida, we went to one, and I found and bought a small 2x6" metal box made for sockets, and they were penncraft. The box looks like it's the same shade of blue that your plane is. I have no idea of its age. Any ideas? Enjoyed the penncraft tour. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
No sorry I don't, I have done little to research Penncraft tools. That's going to change since I have so many now I will do my best to find out more about them and will add it to a future video.
Hi Dale, nice collection, i especially like the drill that Rob sent you. Ive got far too many things waiting to be cleaned up! Glad your on the mend, have a good week.
Thanks Alex, I have many projects also, I hope with all the cold days ahead I can spend time in the shop to get sorta caught up. Have a good one my friend.
I don’t have pennys hand tools but I have the radial drill press I restored. It was made by delta. Sears use to have tool trucks that visited all the shops like snap on and Mac. Sears was known for tools and machinery. When they quit advertising is when they opened the door for other company’s . Good luck with your collection.
I got clothes from Penny's as a kid and we got tools at Sears typically but I got a 1/4" drive Pennys socket set as a gift as a teenager and have kept it for nearly 50 years now because it's unique to me.
My family were frequent visitors of Sears and Penneys also. I have a memory of going into Sears tools but I'm a little shady on the penny tool department. Its cool you still have some Penncraft tools.
There were J.C. Penny stores around when I was young and starting to acquire tools, but I didn't even know that they sold tools. My friends and I all bought either Craftsman or SK tools. I can understand why you're having trouble finding J.C. Penny tools for your collection!
Ny father had jc penny wrenches if i am not mistaken they were made by snap on for them he bought them when jc penny sold out their tool years ago now i have some of them now
Many of those store branded tools were made by very reputable manufacturers. Great collection! 😃👍
You are right, The more I dig into the history of these tools, the more surprises I get. What a fun hobby, right?
I was lucky enough to find a JCPenny/Penncraft 3 drawer tool box. It’s dedicated to Penncraft tools only.
That is a lucky and very cool find John.. I would love to see a picture of it.
Very nice collection, Dale! JC Penney tools are hard to come by in my area. The complete set in the blue box is mighty impressive. Thanks for sharing your collection with us. 😉👍
Thanks, When I find them it is usually one tool in a bunch of others. Never several at a time. We keep looking.

That's a very nice collection! Most JC Penney and Penncraft tools I've seen in one place!
Thank you, There were quite a few more than I thought,. Thanks for watching.

Hi Dale, great collection, my favorite is the complete ratchet/socket set in the box. Love the hat!
Thank you David, The set is the most complete I have seen, George hooked me up with that one. The hat was a prop for a Christmas picture we had a few years ago.

Thank you Bill. I find it on E bay but I am cheap and don't want to pay the prices. The hunt is fun.

I remember the stores as well and never see them either... its wierd... good collection Mr. Dale!
Thank you Vic. To be honest I barely remember it myself.

Thank you, I didn't know that Sears had trucks, I always liked the big tool section in the store.my favorite place to browse.

you're right, RARELY if ever do I come across one if those brands!
Thanks Matt, they are few of them out there. You can get them on E bay but I am cheap and refuse to pay those prices,
I think I have a few JCP wrenches around somewhere...
Might want to hang on to them they don't seem to be that many out there.
10:14 is amazing. Looks to be showroom quality perfect !
It is in excellent shape, just a little dirty, but I plan to clean all the collection up to show room specks.
Very nice collection, I do not have anything from penny's but a couple Montgomery wards sockets though. I forgot about JCP tools.
I find JCP wrenches from time to time. But not much anything else.
Nice collection Mr Dale. I like the hat
Thanks Ivan, the hat was for a Christmas picture a few year ago.
Great collection
Thanks Cliff.
You run with a pretty good crowd.
So do you my friend.
Nice video.
Thank You
Like you say, JCP tools are good quality but hard to find.
Yeh, I don't know who made the tools for them. That's something I need to check into. Thanks for watching.

They are out there, but hard to find. Apparently they didn't sell them in all stores like Sears did.

That's Cool David, Penneys had several companies make tools for them, another one of them was New Britten and S K, according to Garage journal.
Resto Rob is okay!
I agree.
