How about a comparison of smartphones in the $100-200 price range. What if I have a small budget, but not like: a buck fifty, two paperclips, and a cork?
Just buy the mi a1 nothing comes close at that price.
plenty of android one phones at that price range such as the mi a1 and a bunch of nokia phones too, you'd be surprised how well they hold up to other competitors

I used to have the Lg g stylo it was a pretty good phone and I think it’s around $200 maybe less it had a pretty big screen and didn’t have almost any problems only one I think but ig I recommend it

To those who actually need a cheap phone, the iPhone 5S is a good bet going for like $50 on ebay. It runs iOS 12 and can take decent photos, not bad for $50
Edit: Agree with a lot of comments here, if you have a bit more money the iPhone SE is a much better buy as it is a lot faster. You will probably be paying a bit over ~$100 for one in good condition used, but you'll be getting a significantly more powerful device.
I would recommend the SE over the 5s but both are good options especially considering they both still get iOS 12

I payed 60€ for a Huawei P9 which is much more recent (so the battery is in better condition), take better pics and runs Android. The iPhone isn't a good deal

I had a Doogee X5 Pro back in 2016 when my S7 edge was stolen. I paid £60 for it and it wasn't half bad...until the screen started to fail and had streaks all over it. It had 16GB of storage, a quad core 1GHz CPU, 720p display (5"), Android 5.1 and a 2400mAh battery. It wasn't anything particularly special but it was actually very usable and while it was a plastic build, I thought it felt decent. Doogee is pretty respectable to be honest.

@ಠ_ಠ On phones like iPhone you need to send the thing to a repair shop, pay more money and leave your phone there for few days or maybe even lonher just to replace the battery and extend the life of your phone, another advantage is that removable battery phones usually let you put a bigger battery like 10k mAh.
@ಠ_ಠ I mean if it's only sealed with screws that's fine but phones are usually sealed with glue and glass backs which takes heating the back that cutting it off and going through all that hassle just to swap the battery.

It's much easier to remove a battery from a phone with a removable battery that has a removable battery because the removable removable battery can be removed easily.
Anyone can do it. Not everyone is willing to perform the everyman's equivalent to brain surgery to replace the battery on an iPhone, for example.

Yep, I bought a 39 $ phone with a IPS screen, really good sound, Marshmallow ( I think that I can update it to Pie but my phone will just die ), and it can still update apps to their latest versions.
But only 2 gb of memory and 512 mb of ram...
So yeah, it worked perfecly fine, but now I can't watch YT because of glitches. Even with of a minimum of apps.

I had the Blu phone for a few months.. I broke my good one, needed a replacement NOW and bought it at Walgreens for $40 or 50.. it did it's job. Ironically it stopped booting the same day I got something better.

Thank you. You answered the question I was thinking. How is the LCD quality? My friend showed me his Obama phone and it's also very light weight and has that annoying LCD that fades out unless you're watching it straight on. What causes that? Does it have anything to do with less pixel density?
The reason that the LCDs fade out instantly when watching it from a little different angle is because they’re TN LCDs.
TN LCDs are cheaper to produce and have worse colors worse contras basically worse everything than IPS LCDs wich is the reason why they’re in cheap phones, an IPS LCD would add another 50-80$ wich is a lot when you wanna buy a 100-200$ phone.
IPS LCDs are the more expensive LCDs where the LCDs don‘t fade out and the colors stay the same from all viewing angles, IPS is better than TN in every aspect.

I bought the Huawei Ascend X2 AT Walmart for 49 dollars. It has a 5.5
Inch HD display, 2gb of ram, 16 gb of storage, 4000 battery, 13 mega pixel rear camera, and an 8 mega pixel selfie. It was an AT&T phone, but I called them and got the unlock code. Great phone.

Check the Doogee for malware. I had an X5 MAX PRO that was a great phone for what I paid for it, but the stock ROM was filled with malware from the factory and I had to flash it with a custom ROM to use it safely.

It was 2018 during the time of recording of the video, and you had to move the headphone cord to get a decent reception... while SanDisk with their Sansa music players before the Sport model (as far as I know) have FM radio support *without* having to put the headphone cord (and your arms) in awkward positions.

Honestly, for a budget smartphone company, BLU is a good company. Respectable specs for the price and I'm actually on my second BLU phone. My last one, the BLU Vivo XL2, lasted about 3 years before I wanted to upgrade. Now I'm on its predecessor, the Vivo XL3

The Umidigi A3 on Amazon sells for $69 and is quite nice, glass front/back, 2gb ram and 16gb storage, and a pretty usable camera make it hard to beat.

as far as cheap phones, Doogee is actually pretty decent. Great for traveling overseas or going on trips where you may worry about your primary phone or as a phone for a kid.
