One of several gated crossings on the Kent and East Sussex Heritage Railway. This crossing is situated west of the town of Tenterden, on Cranbrook Road. There is a gate box / crossing keepers hut for the crossing.

Period-correctness is nice but I'd be terrified trying to stop the traffic on that road to close the gates. I'd settle for a halogen AHB.

There's usually a big enough gap in traffic to close the gates. Unfortunately warning lights (wigwags) are expensive for a heritage railway and I'm not sure this is something the railway would want to spend money on.
