Thank you David! Happy New Year! 😎 My favourite crossing visited (and most favourite in the UK) is Lincoln. Least favourite is probably Aylesford as I've filmed it way too many times (it's a little boring) however I'd still visit and film it anyway if I was waiting nearby 😎

I think they're used to reduce sun glare on the lights but I've never confirmed this

Is it just me but I thought the most exciting thing about level crossings was the trains! But they seem incidental in this video.
The trains that pass are a big part of why I film crossings and travel to different ones to see different trains 😊

Have you shown Redcar central level crossing (fun fact its different to normal uk crosings).
Redcar is quite a drive from where I'm based in the south-east so I've yet to visit it yet. I know it's quite unique as it has sliding gates

Good thing I saw this video.... Now I know that if I hear an alarm like in the UK that I don't have to think that a security system took me for a burglar, but that a train is coming in stead....
(Not that I have a career in being a burglar (not am planning one), but I've hear that alarm before when they went off in shops because either people tried to steal, or when the alarm falsely goes off on people).

Few' days ago I've watched one of your cool videos without earplugs in. After the first warn signal my dad yelled: Are you making those weird sounds or are those our fire alarm signals?
Lol Some UK crossings have quite loud and noisy alarms. Makes them quite unique 😎

I've noticed that a lot of railway crossing in the UK have CCTV systems, that's something that's unheard of here in the US. It's a bit scary, it's like they're watching you from every angle. Also, how are you supposed to do the copper pipe trick with the crossing if they're watching you do it? lol.
When the crossing is being lowered, signalmen watch over the CCTV to check the crossing is clear of any obstructions, then the train(s) can proceed. The barriers won't be lowered if you're blocking it 😂
@UK Level Crossings Channel Oh ok, I thought it was more of a security thing to make sure people weren’t tampering with anything. I bet that’s the same reason it takes so long for the train to come through. Here, safety is thrown completely out the window, once those gates come down, you have like 10 seconds MAX before the train comes, and it won’t stop for anything. 😂😂😂😂 People are just kind of supposed to be smart enough to not try and beat the train.
I have been to the UK many times and also on their moves. So I still can't understand, WHY do you need yellow lamps at level crossings ?? Maybe this is related to the past? I do not know. By the way, Happy Halloween! By the way, I have been on many of the moves from this video.
