  • Nail wrap technique for short nails and long nails. Those of you with long nails should not have to work as hard to get your lily and fox (or other brands) nail polish wraps securely on your nails. For those of you who, like me have short nails we have to really make sure to get all of the air bubbles out and get the bottom part of the sticker over the edge of the nail. Which sometimes does not even exist. So this video I demonstrate how I accomplish this! As I am posting this video, my nail wraps have been on for 5 days with no lifting around the edges! So it can be done! I hope this video is helpful! Let me know how your lily and fox nail wraps/ nail polish stickers turned out when you did your home manicure! ALSO, I have a video about how to shape your nails prior to applying your nail wraps- so check that out after you watch this!
    If you're new here, WELCOME!!! I'm Rae- I am a professional hairstylist so a lot of my content is hair/beauty related! Additionally, I do a weekly whimsical Wednesday video that is more in the lifestyle category and is whatever fun uplifting subject that my heart desires. I hope you enjoy the video! Let me know either way so that I can make sure to put out future videos based on your enjoyment! Thanks For Watching!

    The downward filing motion tip is a life saver! So is tucking under the cuticle. I've ended up with them sticking to my cuticle a few times. I knew there had to be a better way to do this. I love these wraps and my goal is to get them to last 2 weeks at a time. Better than $40 or more once a month at the nail salon, for sure.

    I love your tutorial the most! Because I like to use the other half for another nail as well.💅 you show how to cut away the other side as opposed to throwing it away.
    That way, you get 2 full manicures out of 1set!😁🙌

    I'm like, a gazillion months late, but, thank you for this; the first time I ever applied these Lily & Fox nails on my own, I ignored the digital instruction, and just winged it. Big mistake. Air bubble were EVERYWHERE underneath the stickers after about a week of wearing them. They started developing before that, even, but didn't get problematic until about a week, like I said, after application. I was using flamingo ones that my sister bought me for Christmas, in case you're curious, haha.

    • @kikichelo7449
      @kikichelo7449 Рік тому

      Yes. I had ridges and bumps. I think I'll try buffing them. Also, I didn't like filing the polish down afterwards because I noticed that when the polish came off my nails were trimmer in some places. Especially in those areas where I may have had difficulty getting the wrap removed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I have not had that issue with my nails, however, my hands are constantly in water and chemicals at work so they don't stay on for a super long time. Is it your actual nail or maybe an air bubble under the wrap? Either way that sounds frustrating :( Also, thank you for watching! Let me know what you've figured out about your nails!

    This seems like A LOT more work than color street.... but they are so much cheaper!!! I just ordered my first order so I will know for sure when I actually try it but CS, you can just rip the excess off. I have seen in a few places that you cant do that with Lily b/c its more "plastic-y" and need to actually cut it off. Regardless, thanks for this tutorial, very helpful !

    • @GenXSurreyGirl
      @GenXSurreyGirl Рік тому +1

      The person doing this video makes it 10 times harder than it actually is. You don't need to cut them and file them and pick them with tweezers and cut them and file them more and pick out the bits and use a cuticle stick to push in the ragged edges. I don't have a clue what this person is doing but that's not how it's done. I do Lilly and Fox like any other brand. You file it and tear it off in one piece. This person shouldn't be doing a how-to video when they clearly don't know how to do it.

      My nails are thin, brittle, and a little sad. So, this is the way that I have found works for me. If you have had success applying the CS nails the simple way I am sure that would work with this brand as well! Thank you for watching and the kind feedback! :)

      My nails are extremely oily. Or not dry. To the point where they are flexible. Because of this I can't wear anything on them. It peels off within 24 hours. Even gel and acrylic nails!! One tech I worked with got my nails to finally accept gel polish and I used to use the Sally Hanson wraps that lasted 2 weeks. The trick...file so they are a bit rough, then use pure acetone, clip cuticles back and then use rubbing alcohol to thoroughly dry each nail. The tech even scrapped my nails using a scraper.

      Once you get practice in applying them it takes about 10 minutes to do both hands. One strip does 2 nails (if your nails are short). I place a strip on left hand nail, cut excess, them immediately use the other half on right hand corresponding finger ( pinky left, then pinky right). Thumbs very last. These last over 3 wks. I file my nails down and the strip doesn't chip. It is really easier than video shows😁
