@Kodiak31415 It was great connecting with you to man. Thanks for hunting us down. Sorry the series took so long to start, it's been a crazy few months.
@gpzDave @sgtunix @josephguvnor @Darren950 et al. Sorry for the delay in producing part 2. I've been ill and that's slowed production of the rest of the series. Neil
@Kaivalaginiviti I have a special place in my heart for KTM, which is why I own a 690 Enduro R. Unfortunately the SMT wasn't available for this trip and we've sort of covered the Adventure, though not in a "review" context. Since I bleed orange it wouldn't be fair anyways.
@mister0ldschool Was good running into you too. There will be one episode of "sporting" on-road around your digs before we start in on the adventurous bit.
@madjak30 We're saving the Tenere for a special outing this summer. It would have been nice to have a Strom in the mix, but the logistics wouldn't allow it. It was hard enough getting the two bikes let alone a third from a non-existant Suzuki press fleet.
Planning to get either the BMW f800 or 1200 gs adventure one day and ride from London to Kenya in East Africa and back. I've heard a lot of good things about them from people who own them and done the same, but not so much for the Ducati Multistrada.
@Is2WonderWhy We realize they aren't for "serious" off-road, but they do fit a need. By example, while my KTM 690 Enduro R would be brilliant for portions of the ride, it would have been crippling for series of high-milage days. I think bikes like the MTS and GSA meet a need for traveling riders with limited time, but the urge to reach destinations further afield. Personally I think all bikes need the "ASO", but I love me some coffee!
@zeth609 It was a relativistic 25mph, not sure what it was relative to though... Something, something closed course... something, something don't try this at home. Much better to try it on the road. ;)
Looks pretty cool...but why not put a cheapy in there to see how the big $ metal earns it's keep...throw in a 100Hp (ish) V Strom DL1000...you don't go too far on ADVrider before running into a 'Strom owner...or even a more modern Tenere? Your videos are always excellent...dry sense of humour...luv it!! Later.
@onewheeldrive Yup, I hear ya...the local dealer here in Red Deer says they are not getting much support for demo bikes this season...bike industry has been a hurtin' unit for the past couple of years... Later.
Ducati Multistrada off road.. It's more of a Sport touring type bike to me, seems like people are trying to make it something it's not, a bit like the V-Strom in my opinion.
The Ducati is for adventure motorcyclist who ride from Chester to the pier head and get the boat to the isle of man for 2 weeks once a year then stay in a homestay then ride home and garage it until the next year
@gwalia4 You build it yourself. We started OneWheelDrive, 9 years ago, it's taken a long time to build enough credibility that the motorcycle companies will lend us bikes for filming and review.
Did the Road to Ruins, ruin our favorite motorcycling show host? Was he kidnapped by krazy kalifornians!? Did Montezuma take his Ultimate Revenge!?!? inquiring minds want to know!
Leading up the road to ruin, You're full of alcoholic speed. Leading up the road to ruin, No last chance, don't bother to plead! I'm probably the only one here who thought of Annihilator when I saw the title. Whatever.
Back then the KTM 990 Adventurer destroyed both bikes. Absolutely. The new KTM 1190 is even better although a fair bit heavier. If you then begin the "well the GS is better on the road" then you're buying the wrong bikes because you should have bought a sportstourer instead.Going off road on the GS is completely ridiculous and if you tip it over good luck getting it up by yourself if you have any kind of luggage on. The Duc offroad is just a joke..
Nice job guys, .... can't wait for the next episode.
I've been looking forward to this series for quite a while. Was great meeting you guys even if it was only for a few seconds.
Great production!! I'll wait for part 2 before buying one of the two!!
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Another great video...get well soon Neil !!
What a perfect place for a GS Adventure and a Multi Strada !!
Great work, looking forward to the rest of the series.
I can't wait..... for the next episode!!
Very well shot and edited.
Nice job, keep up the good work.
looking forward to the 2nd part!

its so cool to see you guys in my area (ojai) blind luck that i actually met you that one day lol

@onewheeldrive you couldn't have picked a better road to go "sporting" on, 33 is probably one of the best riding roads out there
@heloderm310 Like the V-Strom though, the limits of where you can take a MTS are blurry.
@mister0ldschool Agreed, likely one of the best roads in western North America... and we do get around a bit :)
@onewheeldrive
Is part 2 up yet?? can´t find it!
do you think a new rider, with some experience on a Honda Shadow 750 can handle riding one of these on road? or is it too much bike for a new guy?
Amazing!!!!! You could really teach MCN a thing or two about how to make a comparison video!!!!

Good god, this guy has a great voice.

Is there a top gear for motorbikes? you must host it!!!....great work!
@onewheeldrive No one refers to the US version of TG.
Yeaaahhhhh!!!!!
Nice Mate!
yesssssss more videos .... thanks :-)
@DesmosediciAlice I sort of ran out of money and had to go back to the regular job, which stalled my production of this series.
@serguti Thank you! That comment made my day... unless you're referring to the US version of Top Gear.

Part 2?
Get well Neil!
The Duc is so beautiful and full of power, but the GSA is way better in handling. 2 very, very, very enjoyable bikes.
@onewheeldrive As a long-time fan of the british Top Gear, I'd say I was positively surprised by the American version.... :)

Finally!!!!!
Ducati Multistrada off road..

cough...KLR owns both bikes off the tarmac

@DesmosediciAlice Wait till you try a KTM 990 Adventure ;)

At 3:32 you can see suspention at work: the BMW GS is far superior to Ducati on a rought gelande strass... far mor comfort and control.
serious chemtrails at 3:05 and 3:40

SquirrelFromGradLife the ktm destroys itself lol. Make sure you get breakdown cover if you own a ktm
