2 tips I got: 1. This game actually has the crouch walk from Super Mario 3D World. Simply move left or right diagonally downward on the analog stick, hold down and press left or right on the D-Pad at the same time, or... 2. Crouching has also been mapped to L/ZL, new to the 2D series. You can hold the button on the ground to easily go into "crouch mode", or it's an easy way of performing ground pounds. And a neat detail: Each song has dynamic music. You already know of the Elephant instruments they add on. However did you know there's also idle versions of the song? Simply idle long enough, the music changes. This also affects nearby Talking Flowers. They may say other stuff when you just idle around them.
i kinda hate that you can 'crouch walk' i think it misses the point of what made 'normal' and 'super' mario different from each other (in the older game they would have paths that only 'small' mario was supposed to get through (although those games usually had some janky way for 'super' mario to get there....but still)
They actually used the rumble thing in Kirby star Allies! in the final stage listen to the controller after hitting the switch and you'll hear the Kirby theme!
I thought it was super cool that the controller rumble made sounds for certain in game actions. It caught me by surprise and I thought it was super cool!
I had the same reaction to the music coming from the controller. At first I thought it was coming from the TV speaker but it was using a clever reverb trick to make it sound atmospheric, but I wasn't entirely convinced because it's not a surround sound system.
3:00 Small clarification: this message only pops up from getting all the Wonder Seeds in a given world. If you get all the Wonder Seeds but missed some of the 10-Flower Coins or the top of a flagpole you will still get the message and reward. Sadly as far as I know there isn't a great way of quickly checking if you got every 10-Flower Coin/Flagpole top in a given world, you just need to scroll through each level in the menu to quickly check if you are missing any.
If you are looking at the Courses screen (L Button) there will be a circled checkmark next to the name of the world if you have 100% completed it. If you have only completed the Wonder Seeds in that world, the checkmark won't be there but the Wonder Seed number will be teal-colored. Does that make sense?
@@MS7.7 as far as I know, only 1 flagpole is counted so if you already have the flagpole from the first one, you can land the second without bothering to try to touch the tip.
here's a fun titbit i got from beardbear: in rolling ball hall, if you use the elephant trunk attack to swing a spiked ball towards the left wall where you'd usually go during the wonder effect, going that way will spawn secret talking flowers that tell you that you're not supposed to be there during normal gameplay. the final room in that section has 3 flowers all with unique dialogue not seen anywhere else in the game
One bonus Nabbit has over the Yoshis, is he doesn't get knocked back like them. Super handy in levels like Special World where getting knocked back usually knocks you into Poison.
Most of these types of videos are filler and crap - but this was honestly great. Awesome video quality and informative tips - my personal favorites are the floating cap vertical climb and the character exclusive hidden block (kind of dumb in my opinion - me and my buddies were totally lost on a search party level because of it)
You can cheese through the invisibility badge tests by spamming emotes and item balloons (tap that A button!) The vine badge can be a good vertical tool too, you can repeatedly spin jump from the wall and hold back to the wall, your vines will always hit backward that way! It can also grab onto the flag pole! You can defeat a bullrush from below with one hit, using the drill power up to jump out of the ground and into the bullrush belly.

In the Rolling-Ball hall level, after you finish running for your life from a spikey ball, there’s a flower in there that says ‘bye bye!’ But if you stand next to the flower for 30 seconds he says different things like ‘are you tired?’ Or he says ‘ACHOO!’ ‘Am I allergic to.. me?!’ I though that was kind of interesting! my favourite thing is actually that you can do a fairly easy infinite lives setup right where you are at 7:24: you kill the condor above the bricks before it can smash down then break the top row with a cancelled ground pound, then break another block on just the left side the same way. Then, you hold the shell, walk left until you're wobbling over the bricks that are left (still standing on the snow) then toss the shell up. After that, all you gotta do is jump into the left side and it's full-auto, no button holding required.
holding a shell in the water will let you swim faster than you can with dolphin kick ( have not tested with those weird cylinders stacky dudes or snails)
Right as you hit the ground from a butt stomp you can tap the B button and jump up, also if you finish a stage with the elephant power up and water in the trunk you'll spray the water on the poplin causing him to bloom.
