- Today I want to show you 50 tiny hidden details, Easter eggs and secrets that I've noticed while playing through a ton of Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch
If you’re underwater in Mario Wonder and there’s an enemy right under you here, your character will lift up their feet up to try and avoid that enemy.
Or did you know when Mario is about to hit a brick you can see him quickly punch it with this hit effect. But if there’s nothing in the block then he won’t punch it and just hit his head

0:36 Fun fact: bowing in Japan has many different meanings, and among those is apology. So it's less of a "get out my way" animation and more of a "I'm terribly sorry, sir" animation
That makes more sense. Since when does bowing mean "get out of my way"?
The level backgrounds in general are really dynamic compared to past 2D Mario games and they always seem to correspond with your location on the world map. For example, "Muncher Fields" is the level right next to Castle Bowser on the Petal Isles map so he lingers idly and takes up almost the entire background for that whole level.
Or even in the first level: if you grab the Wonder Flower not only do the Pipes in the background move, but the Pipe-Rock mountains get eyes too!
0:15 nintendo wanted to make it VERY clear that mario is PUNCHING the block, not hitting his head

I wouldn't say its "very clear" its actually kinda unnoticeable unless you're looking for it.

i mean the new punching animation IS subtle in change sure, but i ment the whole animation

I honestly love and appreciate the flower additons, especially when they gave you a hint that you missed something! Them saying, "Feel like you're missing something?" was a great indicator to explore the level or that I was missing the Wonder Seed!

Furthermore, for the sliding animation, if you have the floating high jump badge equipped your character will have a unique animation of them kicking their arms and feet while leaning backwards to maintain the slide.
I enjoyed taking my time with this game. This is game of the year for me

Important note: Characters will only have their hands open while running (SMB3/SMW style) while using the fast dash badge, normally they clench fists while running (New Soup style).

At 2:07 Yellow Toad is defending Peach. Heroic, but still worse than Blue Toad
I like the fact that bumping into a boom a doesn’t necessarily result in taking damage… it actually has to bite you to hurt you

this is what happens when nintendo takes time to put together a game and it's a power we haven't seen in years
I think the different enemies pay honor to each other when they bump
I like the detail of the brothers losing and catching their hats when going through some pipes
I appreciate the other Toad protecting Peach at the start of the game. Reminds me of how Peach's toad guard got a visual update in smash and now the guarding toad wants to be there

On the boost pads that move you in a direction, have your joycons out and you'll hear a small jingle on them via the HD rumble. Similar to the music blocks you mentioned
I really hope that you make a hardest Mario Wonder challenge.
While I was playing the game it took a picture (like it does at the end of each level) of the elephant taking damage, which is how I saw elephant-face normal mario lol.

Here is one: in the piranha plant song, the note blocks will change to match the theme
Also a cool detail is if you die next to a flower they will sometimes say aw! As if they are upset that you died.
For #1 you arent actually avoiding them but instead preparing to stomp them, as it wouldnt make sense for the regular swimming animation to hurt the enemy
Fun fact if you crouching on the floor with any fire flower character they can throw fireballs while crouching

Just beat the game yesterday and i have started to 100% it. So far i have 100% completed pipe rock plateu and petal isles.😊

To be completely honest, I didnt enjoy this game as much as I thought I would, but my god, the work the art direction team put into it is staggering.

The note blocks somewhat follow the background music. This is not always noticible, but it becomes clearer when you: a) jump off from a note block, b) during any of the pirana plants musical numbers

I wonder if the HD rumble music from the note blocks was inspired by Kirby Star Allies. In the final area of the final level for that game the HD rumble plays the Green Greens theme (but only in docked mode).
Kick a shell up as an elephant and keep the shell in the air with your trunk. After a few hits, the shell starts to glow. Keep it up, and the shell will disappear off the top of the screen and rain down coins

Fun fact: if you got to a platform in the top-left after clearing the piranha parade wonder affect you will encounter a secret seed

fun fact: in mario wonder when holding a shell underwater you go faster than normal. I usesd this to make water levels easy for me without the dolphin kick badge.
Nintendo was thinking big when making this game, they filled in all the holes for this one
I don't think the characters lift their feet to avoid enemies underwater, they are probably prepping to stomp them since you can do that in this game.
Back to the elephant watering cans in the poplin houses, did you know that in Deep Magma Bog, there are different amounts of them in each observatory? For example, the first has one, the second has 2 stacked, the third has 3 stacked, etc.
#18. After he gets out of his shell, he is angry because you hit him.
#19. After Mario gets hit, the koopa is only angry for a few seconds then he goes back to normal, unlike in #18 where the koopa stayed angry for the entirety of the clip.

The edge animation is like the sonic version of the animation, and the koopa moment can also happen with goombas?

I just finished the game yestarday, and realized the Piranha Plants in the Rage Stage sing almost the same melody as the ones in the Parade

I noticed that your character’s audio gets a little muted when you go in to a pit (I first noticed this in Jet Run I)
Huh, I always thought the elephant water-pail was in reference to Animal Crossing.
When you scare Enemies it make them a bit faster!

I only muted them once, because I got tired of hearing them say the same thing during the final-final badge test.
I unmuted them after the level though
It’s so sad that such a detailed game had one of the worst bosses in the series
some of the details seem pretty self explanatory, like if you press B, Mario will jump typa details
The invisibility badge can be seen in the light like the invisible blocks
Did you know when you're in elephant form the music will change
If you are in elephant mode the music of the level will change to sound like it was played by an elephant trunk (trombone)
When you press B at the loading screen, prince florian will jump
