I can't believe that some people have said that Mario Wonder is too easy. I've seen people said that it would be better if it was more like Mario Maker... so nearly impossible to play and amateur game design. Cool.
I did Badge Marathon earlier today. When Fir started yelling "It's sooooo hard!" I felt it in my bones. I'm going to 3D print the invisibility badge so I can set it on fire.
I went into that final level with 99 lives and finished with 5. The fire gates and jumping on the balloon guys while invisible just made it nearly impossible for me.
I feel like I cheated I did every level with Luigi than I lost 50 lives on the last level and Gave into temptation and switched to yoshi and and I probably still wouldn't have it done now if I didn't have 3 other people there helping me
Oh these were my hardest challenges too! The fire gates were okay at some point but I've lost so many lives on the balloons. I got it at some point once somebody pointed out that Mario (or the other player) is always in the same place on the horizontal line
@@valdemarwindfeld2838 I would have too, but I fairly consistently reached the invisibility badge and there's 110 possible coins between the last checkpoint and the invisibility challenge. (I had plenty of opportunities to count.) I got pretty darn good at those sections.
One thing I find fascinating about Wonder’s harder levels is how they’re mostly designed to counter multiplayer cheese. There’s a lot of autoscrollers or “timed” levels, and by forcing you to constantly be on-the-move, it means you’re less likely to be able to revive via another player or a standee. You can’t go backwards in those levels, even as a ghost. Of course, whether this is a strength or a weakness depends on how much you like autoscrollers. :U
In the Final Wonder level (not the Final Badge Challenge, the level before it) there's a hidden Daisy block with a drill power-up in it, right after the falling pipe before the crystal area... I know because I played the whole game as Daisy, if I hadn't I would have never known it existed. The drill lets you basically skip most of the danger on the next part of the level.
I got the drill from the start block and then crouched at the front of the pipe worm to avoid the enemies then I used drill to go on the ceiling in the crystal part then I used drill to go under all the spring enemy guys then I used drill to avoid all the sugar stars and go under the Hoppos later on. So drill is definitely the best power up in that level

I loved this game. I really enjoyed having many new techniques/power ups. The most difficult part of the game overall for me was finding the secret exits/hidden coins. I had a lot of trouble with the very last level. I didn’t have many lives so once I went game over I only had 5 tries each time so even if I died after a checkpoint, I often had to start over. The special world is honestly a prime example of what Nintendo CAN do and that's why it's nice to see it. The levels themselves are playful with things like the guy's massive hat being hidden by the cloud and the balloon off screen pushing you back near the flagpole and the difficulties/jerkish moments are a nice change of pace for how easy things tend to be. The game is made easier for younger audiences, but the addition of harder and meaner levels is a nice way to acknowledge the fans who've been around for a while. It's kinda like movement in Mario Odyssey. You CAN make it through the whole game without any particularly fancy tricks or moves but they're still there if you wanna play with them.
Yeah ngl I was pretty underwhelmed with the final level since it was just way shorter than I expected, but when I found out about the final final level... Oh god, that took me forever. It took me well over 50 deaths and that's with me cheesing the end by eventually getting into a run with other people to keep respawning eachother
Nah cuz i’m doing the final final level solo i’ve gone thru more than 100 lives fs 😭 Even with Nabbit i’m stuck at the invisible badge it’s literally hell
Somehow, of the "normal" special levels, the rhythm one was both the best and the worst for me. I liked that it was not as long as the others, so you didn't lose too much time with every death, but it was also so punishing if you weren't perfectly on beat... Also, the final final level is rough. That fire bar section, man...
I'm not even sure it's possible to get all three wonder coins from Climb to the Beat and complete the level all in one life, except for maybe using the dash badge and some frame-perfect pixel-perfect turns or something. Most of my 9 deaths were because I kept trying to get all of them and complete the level all in one go. Also why do you have the flowers muted? Hearing them cheer for you after finishing these difficult levels is the best feeling ever! Especially at the end of Climb to the Beat, they yell, AMAZING!!! And it's the best thing ever!
Good lord, I can feel myself getting an aneurysm just by watching you play the last two levels. I can't even imagine completing this game. On the plus side, I think I've finally gotten a second wind for Volleyball 2 in SMO!
Fun Fact: At the part of Way of the Goomba where you follow a spikeball, if you just hold forward you make it safely, no need to hide and let the one behind you pass.
the final final level made me realise why so many people enjoy kaizo rom hacks and stuff like that, it was the most fun i ever had with a mario game. the game was already so good
The fluff puff peaks special level had me BEGGING for mercy. The fact you managed to do it losing a couple lives was really impressive to me. To put it in perspective, I bought the 99 lives, did the level and had 32 lives left. I don't know why it was so difficult but I am happy I never have to do it again.
It's funny, I had more trouble with the non-special version. Past a certain point, Climb to the Beat is nothing but full running jumps and wall jumps, which felt more consistent to me than Jump Jump Jump.
The final test (not to be confused with the final final test) can be cheesed to the end with just the drill powerup, and you dont need any of the orange badges to cheese it, so using the drill badge, you can just cheese the level without having to wait for too many things
Good job, Fir for beating the special world and that final difficult level. When I did that level, it was SO hard that I lost hundreds of lives, then I beat and felt so relieved.
During the crouching high jump one, you can just hold zl the entire time, and it makes it easier; no accidental ground-pounds, no plummeting straight into lava because you didn't hit crouch the *exact frame* you hit the zip track, etc.
I feel like the badge marathon is gonna be like the sans fight in undertale where people do 6 hour streams just to beat it once and in a few years we’re gonna have “Mario wonder but every level is the wonder gauntlet and badge marathon together with no coins or checkpoints” type thing
I think I spent more time on that spring section than the entire game combined, I actually restarted the level from the start so I had a shroom for that last Jump
Almost never comment on anything, but watching you struggle with and react to Final-Final almost exactly the ways I did is one of the most relatable things i've ever seen. I've seen what you can do in Odyssey, so this is surprising in the best possible way.
A good tactic I found for the invisibility section of the Final-Final Challenge was to keep a power-up in reserve and then press X to get it to start spawning, which creates a bubble above your character. Just don't let it fully form. I think this is a bit easier than trying to spam the emote! (and it enabled me to beat the section first-try!)
Great video! My first time seeing you. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate you producing videos without the bad language most channels use! God bless!!
mad props to fir for beating the spring jump section, when i tried it i ragequit and had to come back as nabbit 😭 easily the worst badge in the game for me

To the part of Nintendo’s team that developed the Final-Final stage, You decided to add the invisibility badge + triangle bouncers + bubble fish, with NO CHECKPOINT beforehand…you will be receiving a bill from my therapist shortly.
Funny story, when I played the badge marathon with my little brother we got to the spring feet badge and I died, I expected him to immediately fail since he was not any better than me but he somehow full speed ran (I guess bounced 😂) through without dying or getting hit once and when we died later in the stage and got a game over HE DID IT AGAIN. My little brother is a pro 👍
Yes I agree I have a big brother and he is horrible at the spring badge but I love it and I’m amazing at it I literally carried him in the spring part every time
In my opinion, the best power-up for the second to last level (the Wonder Gauntlet one) is the drill mushroom. It just makes the level so much easier. - Sincerely, a Drill Mushroom enjoyer.
the fluff puff special level is just on a whole other level of difficulty, I lost 20 lives on that 1 level and that level actively punishes you for going for the purple coins. I want to know what kind of drugs the developers were on when they made this level cause it just ain't fair.

I thought a lot of the levels were fairly difficult, but not unfairly, save a few. The Goomba level has parts, especially with those spike balls, the Wonder spike ball tricks you often in that last section and is just overall hard, and I honestly couldn’t beat the Spring Jump section of the Final level without online respawning
The badge Marathon the hardest part was easily the spring jump badge. I lost so many lives on that part. Just to go all the way back to the crouch jump. I went in with 50 lives left with 8. And i did all that just to miss the top of the flag pole by a few inches... But second go wasn't actually that bad. Only lost like 5-10 lives
I just finished the game myself yesterday (five of six medals, just need to finish getting all the standees or something), and I maintain that regardless of how "expert" they wanted the Invisibility Badge to "feel" that this is the worst possible way they could've implemented it, especially for a Mario game. Nearly every Mario game before this one (and most other games with decent "invisibility" power-ups) that had invisibility didn't do 100% or nearly 100% invisibility like this game did, usually going for semi-transparent or character outline or other similar rendering. There was always some mechanism to keep the _player's_ visual focus always on the character on screen even though the power was usually that _enemies_ can't see you. This game did that very poorly with this badge since being 100% invisible except for in front of certain backgrounds you have to rely on extremely subtle visual markers like run puffs or jump twirls, hoping there are pots or shells to carry for a more substantial visual, or in the worst case changing to a very uncomfortable claw grip to spam the emote button while still trying to deal with the run, jump, and twirl buttons. Absolutely the worst badge in the game and I personally never touched it beyond the badge trials and the final badge marathon.
That's... the entire point. It's _supposed_ to be a pain in the ass. Making you only semi invisible would make it a regular badge and not an expert badge. So yeah, sorry but I'll have to bust out the old classic : Skill issue.
@@miwestraveler3986 I didn't say it in my original comment, but the alternative should've been replacing it entirely with an expert badge mechanic that relies on _actual_ skill to get around the disadvantages rather than mostly luck like this particular implementation of invisibility. "Always bouncing/jumping, but your jump button jump can go higher" is an example of a skill-based expert badge done right, while this specific implementation of invisibility has _basically zero_ redeeming features since "not triggering enemy radar" is essentially useless in practice except for the one Goomba-based Wonder Seed.
@@apollolux With all the small visual cues you can use to locate yourself, as well as your knowledge of momentum in the game, the invisibilty badge absolutely is based on skill and not luck. It just takes a different set of skills than what's normally required in a Mario game. I agree that the three expert badges are not balanced at all, with two of them being very useful despite their problems, but the 3rd being mostly a challenge badge with very rare and situational uses.
@@miwestraveler3986 I acknowledge the visual cues, however minute and subtle they are, in my original comment, yes. I think our fundamental disagreement is whether the overall package presented by this particular implementation of invisibility is considered "skill-based" or not, and while I can definitely agree with you that it "takes a different set of skills than what's normally required in a Mario game" (especially considering that they seem to change Mario's physics, particularly momentum, in every engine if not every game, and that doesn't even account for stick vs pad preference) I would still disagree that _in the context of a Mario game_ that makes it more skill-based rather than luck-based. That's not even including my longer argument about "invisibility" vs "video game invisibility," which I've only touched upon in my original comment here.

And then he one shots the invisibility badge. I easily spent a whole hour just on the very last section with those balloon enemies.
Fun Fact: At the part of Way of the Goomba where you follow a spikeball, if you just hold forward you make it safely, no need to hide and let the one behind you pass.
the final final level made me realise why so many people enjoy kaizo rom hacks and stuff like that, it was the most fun i ever had with a mario game.
the game was already so good
16:32
Having the cannons face left and they shoot to the right is some kaizo level trolling lmao
I feel alienated with the amount of people saying it was hard took me 12 tries to 100%
I hated the Jump Jump Jump in the special world it took me atleast twice as long as the first jump jump jump
YESS!! It took me literally 2 hours to complete. I had to get my family members to try it out before FINALLY getting it 😭
I mean… it’s a special level stage. Difficulty is something to be expected for it imo. Sorry to hear it took you so long though ^^’
@@Glimmergrey 2 hours!? It only took me and my family (but mainly me they gave up) about 20 minutes! Or 30 I wasn’t counting
@@solarstorm5242 that is true but at least I’m on the final test level now
It's funny, I had more trouble with the non-special version. Past a certain point, Climb to the Beat is nothing but full running jumps and wall jumps, which felt more consistent to me than Jump Jump Jump.
The final test (not to be confused with the final final test) can be cheesed to the end with just the drill powerup, and you dont need any of the orange badges to cheese it, so using the drill badge, you can just cheese the level without having to wait for too many things
watching you struggle on the last level makes me feel better LOL awesome game!
2:53 This level was my personal hell when I tried and lost so many lives and I agree what you said
Good job, Fir for beating the special world and that final difficult level.
At least I’m glad to know the spring badge section was hard for you too. I was stuck on that section for so long.
This has convinced me all the more, we need a spring power only run
you are evil
HOW IS THIS GUY SO WHOLESOME😭😭😭
Almost never comment on anything, but watching you struggle with and react to Final-Final almost exactly the ways I did is one of the most relatable things i've ever seen. I've seen what you can do in Odyssey, so this is surprising in the best possible way.
5:06 Fir: I missed one?
Me at 4:55 *LITERALLY SCREAMING*
Ok he realized it at 5:25
Watching him do the invisible section so quickly makes me question reality
Same i failed on that so many times
Badge marathon took 70 lives for me but completing it felt so rewarding 😂
Fir in the Invisibility section, "Check point?! ... check point?.. ...check point..."
Me: I know how you feel, man.
Me: Havent Beat the last level, and I've had the game for a year
My Dad: Beat the last level in 3 months
Fir: Beat the level in a day
A good tactic I found for the invisibility section of the Final-Final Challenge was to keep a power-up in reserve and then press X to get it to start spawning, which creates a bubble above your character. Just don't let it fully form. I think this is a bit easier than trying to spam the emote! (and it enabled me to beat the section first-try!)
Great video! My first time seeing you. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate you producing videos without the bad language most channels use! God bless!!
for the wonder gauntlet, i used the drill! it makes the first few parts of the stage really easy!
Thank you for sacrificing your cardiac health and sanity so that those of us who would die trying can see the end of these levels!
mad props to fir for beating the spring jump section, when i tried it i ragequit and had to come back as nabbit 😭 easily the worst badge in the game for me
I used Yoshi for that one on my first run but then came back as Luigi to clear it more authentically.
Imagine doing an invisible badge solo run on the special world levels without relying on Yoshi or Nabbit lmao, it's either pain or bro your muscle memory are unrivaled
To the part of Nintendo’s team that developed the Final-Final stage,
You decided to add the invisibility badge + triangle bouncers + bubble fish, with NO CHECKPOINT beforehand…you will be receiving a bill from my therapist shortly.
The only thing that threw me off was that I got Incredible TWICE on the Badge Marathon stage and finally got Wonderful on the third try.
the fluff puff special level is just on a whole other level of difficulty, I lost 20 lives on that 1 level and that level actively punishes you for going for the purple coins. I want to know what kind of drugs the developers were on when they made this level cause it just ain't fair.
“The six main special levels are done, supposedly there are only two left” Said the man who had yet to experience the final final stage.
The final-final level was SO enjoyable! I died a lot but I enjoyed it! It was the perfect ending!
I love how he is like "Its the final level" when going to the wonder gauntlet and there is still half of the video left.
I definitely thought Badge Marathon reminded me of Champion's Run in 3d world that took me hundreds of lives. They were equally difficult 😂
I played the goomba level a couple of hours before watching this and I can confirm that it is truly that hard
I don't know how ur so good fir! It took me like 10 days and 500 tries to beat the fluff puff peaks level😭
You know that they basically gave this to the developers and told them to go absolute chaos. And the developers had a blast making these.
Special World-1 Pipe-Rock Plateau Special Bounce,Bounce,Bounce
Special World-2 Fluff Puff Peak Special Climb to The Beat
Special World -3 Triple Threat Deluge
Special World-4 Sunbaked Desert Special Pole Block Allure
Special World-5 Fungi Mines Special Dangerous Donut Ride

Special World-7 Petal Isles Special Way of The Goomba
Special World-8 The Semifinal Test Piranha Plant Reprize
Special World-9 The Final Test Wonder Gauntlet
Special World-10 The Final-Final Test Badge Marathon
Bro!!! You beat that invisibility part on your first try! That took me like 3 hrs to beat that part. Nice job!
The Pipe-Rock Plateau special is really easy to cheese with Jet Run, you can get up to the second hippo with pretty easy jumps.
I can't wait for someone to do an any% run using the invisibility badge the entire game
The "Sound off?" Badge feels like a 'you didn't have to do this, you know' kind of thing.
Watching fir play this final level makes me how he'd react to after alterna in splatoon 3
facts 👌🏾✨ 0:28
Everytime he mentions a check point my Final Final Marathon PTSD kicks into overdrive
"It's like pinball."
Pachinko. Mario has done this before.
The final final badge marathon made me use 190+ lives. It was hell
So yeah, sorry but I'll have to bust out the old classic :
Skill issue.
That's not even including my longer argument about "invisibility" vs "video game invisibility," which I've only touched upon in my original comment here.
the final final level took me easily over 60 lives, most infuriating thing ive done in ages
You took 10 minutes to beat the Badge Marathon because you're more experienced and for the content. I took 2 days because I felt curious to how it felt when you completed 100% a game. We're not the same.
I wish that this game was more like Mario maker or Celeste with the death counter and getting to see where you died
Y'know just to make those things where you can bet on how many deaths you'll get on the next level
you know whats the worst part of fir?
that he doesnt upload every seccond :C
keep doin your good work fir
Fir every second:That's mean!!!
When he played the last level i thought "well seems like maybe i could be better at this game than fir" because he died all the time at all the easy parts i blasted through... And then he one shots the invisibility badge.
I easily spent a whole hour just on the very last section with those balloon enemies. That humbled me quite a bit, i guess when it matters and hes concentrated i dont stand a chance xD
"Do the unthinkable, play as luigi"
i played through the whole game as luigi only xD
me personally, i think the fluff puff peaks special is still the hardest in the game after 100%ing it
Only took 13 tries too 100%
Just cause you said I can finally play as some one better than Mario and you pick Luigi I’m subscribing and liking the vid
Idk why but I love seeing people go through the same pain I went through
I love your vids fir! Keep it up!
Ah yes my favorite genre of video. Fir suffering
The final level has taken every ounce of my anger and i still havent beaten it
He should do a counter of how much he said “That is mean”😂
The bonus levels are one hell of a difficultyspike
26:17 Calling the spring batch spring power rack
9:58 life summarised in 6 words
It feels good to know that i 100%'d Mario Wonder faster than a UA-camr did.
If I had a dollar for every time fir said "well atleast this part is easy" right before dying in that part I'd make more money than he does from youtube 😂
all these people who didn't spend all their purples and then go into the final stage with 20 lives are much smarter than me. They never even had to restart
