    The mistake that Apple made with the touch bar was making it replace the top row function keys instead of having it as an addition above it. it was enough of an annoyance for people that they hated the touch bar. there's enough space that Apple could have had both and made it work.

      You are completely right, there is room about the function keys for a Touch Bar. I really liked that Touch Bar a lot, its a shame they got rid of it...

    actually did that, but in 2023. i paid just 1500€ for the 16 inch with 1 tb ssd. the guy who sold it, priced it that cheap cuz it got a scratch on the screen. but that thing is sooooo tiny. its crazy

      At this point, no. HDMI has been useful, SD Card reader has been great. The only other complaint is that I can't use windows on it, but I just remote into my desktop for that, which allows me to use the graphics processing power of my 3070, as opposed to just letting it sit there collecting dust.

      I had a 1TB 16gb M1 Air and was editing high end stuff for Sennheiser. A handful of exports didn't render properly so I ended up moving to a base Mac Studio and that was the right decision for me. I think the M1 Pro would have done the job as well because I was occasionally editing 8K stuff on the air and it was certainly capable.@@techno_eclipse

      @@techno_eclipse ah. In response to your touch bar, I bought a 2018 pro couple months ago, I figured it benchmarked similar to my gaming PC so couldn't be slow, and to be fair it's fast for day to day stuff but the touch bar I love. Even skipping unskippable UA-cam ads. However I do question if it's necessarily quicker for brightness and volume, despite it being cooler. However in apps like excel and calculator, it's unquestionably better with touch bar

    • @techno_eclipse
      @techno_eclipse  2 місяці тому

      I think it is certainly slower to adjust brightness, but I think it's the reason Apple has the same design when adjusting the brightness and volume on an iPhone, a better user experience. I do miss the Touch Bar, but it is one of those things that I was always a little afraid of it breaking and then having to replace it.....

But of course I DON'T do content creation...nope...i do SQL data crunching.....C++ / HTML / Python coding and programming.....but I still think I might be able to hang.....or better yet...maybe try bench-marking stuff OTHER than video renders and graphics?.....or does that kind of "work" not qualify?.....oh well...I guess to each their own!

      All the specs are useless the moment you try to do app development and need to put your app on iOS appstore.
      Some choices are not about bigger numbers but specific usecases.
