- NBC "Today" story from 1990, filed by reporter Jim Brown, on super film composer Jerry Goldsmith (1929 - 2004).
I heard years ago that Brown is a big fan of the late composer - hence his multiple stories done over the years on Goldsmith. - Розваги
To see Jerry Goldsmith playing Klingon theme on his own - priceless...
Jerry was a genius. I met him on several occasions, during which time I was a record producer. Unfortunately, I did not record any of his scores. He is sadly missed. We won't see his like again.
I'm trying
That is awesome. I miss the power of Jerry Goldsmith. I just have been recently listening to his score to "Leviathan".
We love you, Jerry !
always awe-inspiring to see the master at work
Miss you Jerry!!
Thank you for this i've loved nearly everything he's ever done. A very rare talent and someone who could always surprise people with whatever he came up with.
So true, even today... We see less and less of this kind of film scoring... Now all we get is synthesizer music and/or computer-enhanced film music...
Jerry Goldsmith wore that red sweater at most of his recording sessions.
1:38 Jerry plays the Klingon theme!
Yeah, Goldsmith’s playing a Yamaha KX88.
A true legend. Rudy still one of the greatest of all time.
total recall is my fav movie soundtrack of all time
I love all his Star Trek scores, but The Motion Picture of Final Frontier scores are my two favorites
wunderbar stimmig, die Musik und die Fotos
i so wish i could see him when he was doing total recall
Джерри Голдсмит - великий мастер киномузыки! Это один из моих любимых "заочных" учителей в области композиции!
i would love to see goldsmith when he did total recall
3:19 you can hear an early version of the klingon theme!
It wasn't so much Brown who was a fan of Goldsmith, but Today Show producer Ric Romo, who is a musician himself, and was good friends with Jerry Goldsmith.
1:39 Looks like Jerry Goldsmith’s playing a Yamaha KX88 MIDI Controller.
"desire not to take shortcuts" an inspiring idea indeed. Film music still exists but there seems to be no magic anymore. Listening to the Cure of wellness score it sounded like artificial intelligence score. Same with Alan Silvestri marvel scores, completely unmemorable
LOL, the final FX shots aren't much better than the temp shots that they're scoring to.
2:40 what movie is that?
Black Patch (1940)
Sonarwave Studios 1957, not 1940.
Who is this irritating non-entity?
I don't know your name, you tell us who you are
the 1990 one i might add seeing as they made a crappy 2012 version which obviously doesnt touch arnies one, due to it having arnie in it and jerry doing the music and for it being set on mars, the 2012 one aint even set on mars what a load of shit
