A few things about the Sequoia 1) they are insanely reliable 2) rear door handle sucks and will break, get a metal replacement 3) starter is under the intake manifold and is expensive to replace 4) rear hatch is known to leak, might be why you see wet carpet. I've had my 2001 Sequoia since 2004 and it's still going strong. We just had 200k service completed and my mechanic said he recently changed a timing belt on one of these for the 3rd time (400k miles). Again, insanely reliable. I hope you can keep that rear glass from vibrating because mine rattled like crazy with only 145dB or so. Looking forward to seeing the progress of this project!
Thanks BigD! Yes I know multiple people with these that are over 300k and still going strong. Got a really good deal on it and it only has 155k so should have years of use. Also excited about all the extra space that will allow for bigger builds/better videos. Yes the rear hatch is leaking a little so will definitely look into how to best resolve that. Good to hear from you hope all is well. Look forward to seeing more great content from you!
I have the limited 4wd 02 where is my amp at big dog? I want to remove it, I'm gonna set up my amps in back and run wires up to doors for mids n tweets.
Could you post a link or give us a list of what color cables correspond to speaker pos and neg. you go through it rather quickly and can’t see the cables when you point them out.
Another A 1 video from my guy Parker .Nice choice on the head unit ya it's not the fastest touchscreen in the world but it works well looks and performs great and didn't kill your budget ,IMO it's a GREAT buy .Nice clean install👍🏾.Can't wait to see where this build go's .I'm voting for a 15 inch sub or 2 .
Parker, great video, I have the same factory setup with JBL amp. Could you please provide the wire harness you used & the wire diagram you referred to? Where can I get that colored wire bundle?
I’d say start with the speaker and amp upgrades, then do the wiring for subs and go 15s single or dual think you’d have the space. Great videos and content I’m tuned in!! 👍🏼

Question: Mines has a rear TV screen and audio hook ups in the back for game systems etc. i thinking about putting a DVD player in dash system in. Would your setup work in a situation like that? Thanks in advance Parker.
Parker can you link all of the various harnesses and adapters that you had to use to complete this? I have the exact same JBL system but I can’t for the life of me figure out what harnesses and adapters I need. Would be greatly appreciated 😀
I think you should definitely be putting the box with the dual subs in the new vehicle and the single box in the other for testing. You have a ton of upgrades ahead of you though bro Lol. Also, are you planning to stick with the same 12 inch configuration you have in the past or have you thought about going bigger with the subs? You could definitely go with 15's or even 18's now for sure. I'd like to see you take this new build build way beyond what you have in the past, I'm stoked for you bro! Keep up the good work!
Oh yes lots of upgrades to come!! But it will be in steps. Will stock with the 2 12s for now but as for later it will just depend on what everyone wants to see

I would change all the door speakers and put an amp on them. I would look into some focal or mb quart components. When you hooked up your radio did you wire up your steering wheel controls?
Man I need more info on how you wired that up, trying to figure it out from your video but it’s a little confusing, I have an 07 so same setup as yours and trying to bypass with some 9 wire the same way and use a small amp. Get back to me if you can please I’d be a big help
I have something like that and I conect direct like you but the thing is that the car haves a sub. And I want it to sound With the amp is a way to do that. Or just not
What year is your Sequoia? I have a 2004 SR5 and I have have monster problems getting a similar sony unit to work with the JBL AMP and didnt want to do this because I am kind of a novice but you made it look easy.
@@ParkerTheBasshead I got mine working today... I used the Metra harness and the problem was the cheap head unit I bought. it didnt have the 4 RCA plug in only 2. But I bought the sony ax1000 and got it working. Im not gonna lie the stock JBL factory sounds great. I mean theres room for improvement for sure. But great until later on. 2 decks and 3 wire harnesses later Im a happy camper.
I have a sequoia with a non working amp. If I get this head unit I will not have yo use an amp correct? This head unit has an integrated amp/power, correct?
1.21 jigawatts for subs and deck power for the other 99% of the frequencies? Yeah, that should sound awesome. I know this is a few years old, so hindsight has told me how bad deck power and coaxials sound paired with huge sub systems. That’s why SQL is the only system to have. Highs do make the lows sound better.
Hey buddy I got an 03 sequoia and I believe mine has 2 factory JBL amps. Will this process work the same on mine ?? I got the crappy metra harness that uses the factory amps and it sounds like complete shit. I gotta get this done lol any help is appreciated
Bro I told Heather we should bypass the factory amp in the 4 runner,I mean ultimately we will be running another amp for the doors anyway, but yeah she is going with 2 dd mc1 amps on two dd10,s I think we just created a monster at the sundown show😂😂😂😂
Grounding the parking brake wire doesn't work bud, look up pioneer parking brake bypass, 5 star has all the info, you either have to do that or toggle switch
Dint understand the point of going past the factory amp to use the head units amp that jbl amp would have sounded a little better and a little louder than the head units amp then you go external rear front and sub outs from the head unit some times you can lay the external system right on top of the factory.. MORE IS BETTER and less work. Leaving the stock jbl set up in place
Well the adapters do make it work with the JBL system is pretty expensive and I’ll be adding an amp soon so no reason to by the adapter when it was free to just bypass it
@@ParkerTheBasshead yep you did good.. Fuck spending another 1-200 tell em kid your gonna have an amp anyways in alittle for your mids and highs... Save that 💰 for a nice 1k amp instead of that little 45X4 Jbl amp... Your right...

You can't just ground the green wire on Pioneers to get video functionality. You need a micro bypass. It takes 3 ground pulses to enable.
