Correct. Standard speakers are 4ohm impedance and the Sequoia JBL speakers are 2ohm. Best to repair the JBLs rather than have to replace the whole system for the sake of it operating correctly.
@@kennethpace9887 We gave up on the CD changer in favor of the Sony Carplay touchscreen unit with bluetooth, & just use our phones to stream music from iTunes.
Crutchfield supplied the dash kit. Honestly if I were to do it over with this particular unit, I'd spend some time with aluminum strapping and modify the dash kit brackets so that the screen would be angled upward slightly, maybe a 10* tilt. As it sits flush, I notice the flat angle makes for a lot of glare, and the contrast makes visibility less than ideal. I'm considering installing a different unit with a bigger, floating touch screen whose screen angle can be adjusted.
What is the parking brake wiring all about? I'm about to do the same stereo installation, but this seems weird. I'm also assuming this is a bluetooth connection to the phone vs a wired version. (Hoping) Thanks!
Some places have a legal requirement that screens can only be used when the vehicle is not in motion, so they have to come equipped with a parking brake connection. Ground it and it bypasses that "feature" so you can use the screen.
Ur such a life savior
I believe the original speakers are weird impedences.I was told I couldnt just replace the speakers with standard replacements.

@CliffjumperCars I did repair them years ago and they are still working great. CD changer has died though.
