I've seen this guy play in the flesh, and I can tell you right now, anyone being named in previous comments in comparison to Dylan holds the utmost respect for this man, both as a player and person. I see comments about Drummy and Remus etc. He's playing alongside both of them in this very video. Some of you commenting saying "does he know Benji"? I can guarantee you all that Benji most definitely knows who he is and has for some time along with Benji's brother Jordan who's played with Dylan in the Aussie men's team. Johnson hasn't been on the touch scene in years, so trying to compare his 08 video's is redundant. Any past and present great you've ever known would take a step back after witnessing this guy play in the flesh. He's a Carver through and through and would take on any of your top 6 with no hesitation. I would even bet a substantial amount of money and go as far as to say his wife would slice most of you smack talkers up any day of the week.
Most of you have no clue. If you grew up playing touch you'll knowThere are plenty of touch players that have sjohnsons skills if not better. His speed how ever is ridiculous. Especially when he goose steps he's gone. Touch is a highly skilful game some of league and unions most elusive players honed those skills growing up playing touch especially in nz and Aussie. Try beating a player with out being touched to beating a player that has to tackle you, thats why some of them make it look easy because to tackle someone you have to commit a lot more then touch so there Easier to step if timed right!
+Francis Hepi exactly !!! you took the words right out of my mouth.....also, i would like to add on somehting. To those who dont play touch " If you cant touch someone with ease, how do you expect to tackle them with everything you've got?" Think about that for a while
+cannibal king There's a different running mentality. In one game you have the potential to get the arse knocked out of you and in the other, speed and supreme skills are a must. New Zealand have better individual players but Australia continue to dominate Touch because their team work is far superior. This is most noticeable in the mixed comps as the females in the Australian teams tend to have a lot more involvement in comparison to the New Zealand teams. My point is their transition between players is a lot more seamless. I'm a Kiwi fan but Australia's Touch dominance is undeniable.
Remis scored 5 tries in a Rep league game once, Remis was the only one who scored. He was playing for Auckland I think, against the Waikato Cougars....Waikato still won! Dylan is an awesome touch player only!
Dylan has more then just a step hints why he made the australian team. Hes a playmaker who can not only put on a step and score but he can set tries up and can control the game
All of these people from nrl are comparing him to players like Benji and Shaun Johnson. But both of them cannot throw the ball as flat, powerful and precise as Dylan. Dylan’s footwork is at least as good as Benji and Shaun except in touch, all you have to do is touch them, in rugby league you have to get a hold of them/bear hug. I’ve grown up playing touch my whole life and people underestimate how difficult it is to throw a pass like Dylan. First you have to focus on getting on the outside of your player. And then decide who to pass the ball to in a split second. Not only that but hit them on the chest. I just hope people realise that Dylan is simply better than Benji and Shaun with all due respects to them. I’m only 12 and I’ve had the privilege to meet Hennessy, he is a really sound guy and it pays off on the field. God Bless 🙌
Great touch player, I wouldn't call it a weakness but his left to right pass is almost non existent. I'm not knockin him though because he obviously makes up for that with other skills like vision, team work and an awesome right to left pass.
No chance. NZ are shit at touch there our whooping boys year in year out. To many panzys like Remus trying to step. That shit might work in nz but come over here to aus and you get your ass handed to you
wouldnt say dylan is the best... ;) yeah i know what you mean, we played in touch nationals in NZ last year and alot of people think you dont need to be good to play touch competitively
+Jeremy O'Wheel Totally different games. Most touch players cant adapt to the contact and tackling of the NRL, their passing and stepping style also leaves them volnerable to being smashed ie. switch passes and switch dummy passes where a touch player twists the upper body past 180 degrees is not a good time to get smashed and the huge step doesn't always turn out pretty in the contact game. Adjustments have to be made, so far Benji Marshall and Shaun Johnson are the only to successfully make that transition. Also the fact that Johnson earns a shitload more and them some than a touch player would, could have a barring on his decision to leave touch.
Game is different now though no D but we had more than just one guy, and most never made it to the top due to politics and not being someone’s family member that’s how it was in NZ touch back in the day all our local teams were mean with more than one stepper scooper playmaker everyone could play.
yep i have he wasnt the only dude.i played touch with and against remus but there was a chick from harbour that had a step exactly like remus until she had a baby lol
He's playing alongside Remus in this very video. Lol. Even Nehe would doubt himself a little against this guy. Wouldn't back down of course, but he'd definitely take a half step back.
4000 passes from his right to left and 4 passes from his left to right. I think its pretty obvious he heavily favours the left side of the field. Best in the world I think not. Best team in the world yes but certainly no the best player in the world.
Johnson only played high school level before he switched to league, pete walters has never played in the modern era of touch at the elite level and dominated so it's hard to say how good he is / was. Drummy is definitely one of the best and remus is not comparable to Dylan as the level of touch has developed to a faster and more technical game. To compare any of the players against each other is apples and oranges.
He's played with all of them except Johnson. Both Drummy and Ree are in this very highlight reel playing along side him. And he was in Pete's galaxy team in Whakatane in 2012/13 somewhere around there.
I played with/against dylan drummy remus and johnny andrews and yeah its a toss of the coin out of them 4, remus and drummy are better side steppers while dyl and johnny are all rounders
+bou bear Maybe he can't tackle. Maybe he doesn't like full contact. Great touch players have been around for almost 30 years but if you can't make the transition then there's no point. Australian touch players have in the past been boring to watch(successful yes but boring none the less) but their ability to work seamlessly as a team with speed has always been their greatest asset.
Angus McArthur-Williams which is why Hennessey is such a great player - because he can deliver that pass. Most people can't throw a 25m long with that pace and accuracy in the face of a defence shutting down on them. The point Lachlan Henrisson is making is that by the defenders coming in, they take away the easy scoring options and leave the passer with only the hard pass, which won't come off 19 times out of 20. Hennessey is so good because he can make the hard pass most times.
why is it a joke? He's technically sound in all aspects of his game. Where's anyone else's 8minute highlight reel in the touch worlds top tournaments / competitions ?? My only concern is the sideways cap he always rocks...
Far youse guys are funny talking like that. If you saw benji, johnson, hennessey and milner-skudder... they'd all be like "yeah whatever.." People think they know it all. hahaha
if you ever see or meet benji or johnson ask them who remus jentles is,i can tell you and i no this for a fact they will tell you that he was the man.no1 could stop remus.
Yeah Ive played touch football abit..I never saw a pianist on the sideline putting out some somber melody..I think that music piece was called."touching"
Kenari Stainton because you're comparing just the stepping aspect. Comparing people to dylan is dumb as no one does what he does. Dylan made the NZ national opens team look average his lassing shredded them to pieces.
Watch a dylan stepping video or something this is mainly showcasing his setting up ability. Theres more to touch then just stepping. Dylan has a great playstyle, great speed and acceleration + passing and stepping he has it all. And he controls the game well.
In reality none of the guys you just mentioned could play at dylans level. Dylan made the australian team...saying a rugby league player could instantly beat a national touch player whos considered the best at his own sport? Thats like saying dylan could go and play league for australia cause he played touch.
Its 2 different sports in reality the 3 guys you mentioned would need years of game time and training to be able to go from league to touc and play at a national level and even with the training etc they still might not be good enough. Touch football is very quick and its totally different to league.
I hate to burst your bubble guys, but if you go to any high level rugby club and watch them play touch buggers before training you'll see three guys on every squad with better skills than this guy. Two things to keep in mind here...there are females on the field and its just a tad easier to do these skills if you aren't getting smashed and have to retain ball possession after the tackle.
Some people do both man, played at different times of the year i play it in my off season. Its a good way to build your skills while still maintaining fitness and giving your body a break from the physical pressure. The sport itself isn't trying to be better then league or union.
Try telling that to Benji or Kaylan Ponga and the rest of the highlight reelers who make both rugby and league more exciting than what it was before they came in. Benji's 15 minute highlight reel is a testament to this.
man if you are going to shit on the sport why even watch this. I bet you have never even played touch to a proper level and understand even the basic tactic.
He does have an amazing ability to put velocity on the ball with just a flick of the wrists. No wind up or hesitation.
I would even bet a substantial amount of money and go as far as to say his wife would slice most of you smack talkers up any day of the week.
Calm down mate lol. He only has the quick draw and the average long ball wouldn't rate it best player in the world as of yet.
Don’t have to sit that close behind him @geelax
Most of you have no clue. If you grew up playing touch you'll knowThere are plenty of touch players that have sjohnsons skills if not better. His speed how ever is ridiculous. Try beating a player with out being touched to beating a player that has to tackle you, thats why some of them make it look easy because to tackle someone you have to commit a lot more then touch so there Easier to step if timed right!
Finally someone who has a touch brain, all these Shaun fans thinking he would rip players like Dylan in touch
+Francis Hepi exactly !!! you took the words right out of my mouth.....also, i would like to add on somehting. To those who dont play touch " If you cant touch someone with ease, how do you expect to tackle them with everything you've got?" Think about that for a while

Everyone is a critic.
I played for 8 years and still playing
I wonder how many acls have lost there life’s to this sport
Too good. Great leadership:)
All these shaun johnson riders out here just because of shaun johnson's touch highlights. Dylan is leagues above johnson in the touch world.
gentles carve up
Yeah remis gentles would’ve carved them all. No doubt
Remis scored 5 tries in a Rep league game once, Remis was the only one who scored. He was playing for Auckland I think, against the Waikato Cougars....Waikato still won! Dylan is an awesome touch player only!
looks good this fulla. gotta give credit to his links and wingers tho. heaps of off the ball work done well has created a lot of these trys.....
Shot bro keep doing your thing.... haters will be haters
Leighton Walker wtf you want to shoot the bro??? What kind of dumb ass language is this
remus jentles is and ever will have the best step you will ever see period!!!!!
lol hu dat dnt no a remus smith bro that played for galaxy touch auckland and nz lol
dude still carves in g.c
hard remus is the best i've ever seen
Dylan has more then just a step hints why he made the australian team. Hes a playmaker who can not only put on a step and score but he can set tries up and can control the game
This isnt about stepping...its about touch in general and you need more then a great step to be at dylans level.
Mean! Outstanding..Much respect and has the titles to back it up🥇
The best ever
the try at 5:47 is filthy
The goat
Where is this guy now?
Eetswah still playing top level for Australia
And still going today, NSW state cup was live streamed to utube 5 days ago- he's number 6 for hornsby, its pretty much trials for NSW rep side
When you see all the 'stepping' comments. You'll know it's from us kiwis haha
U mean Maori bra
I'd easily pick the best touch player in the world over Shaun Johnson in my touch team. Johnson is built for contact, DH is built for touch
Trippa, shaun johnson aint built for contact, little bitch barely makes tackles...
maybe the universe!
All of these people from nrl are comparing him to players like Benji and Shaun Johnson. But both of them cannot throw the ball as flat, powerful and precise as Dylan. @rotavagas nope who is Remus Smith lol never heard of him.
Sang, he's good and ive never ecen heard of him
is Dylan Henessy from australia?
yes
How tall is this guy?
Great touch player, I wouldn't call it a weakness but his left to right pass is almost non existent. I'm not knockin him though because he obviously makes up for that with other skills like vision, team work and an awesome right to left pass.
Your joking right?
6:16
Brisbane broncos need to sign Dylan up:) lol
Bet none of use have even seen Remus gentles I 100% think Remus would carve this guy up
No chance. NZ are shit at touch there our whooping boys year in year out. To many panzys like Remus trying to step. That shit might work in nz but come over here to aus and you get your ass handed to you
Has Hennessey met Shaun johnson ?
Hell no
Shaun's cv highlights is the best
+Jeremy O'Wheel He played in NZ, He plays in the NRL now?
wouldnt say dylan is the best... ;) yeah i know what you mean, we played in touch nationals in NZ last year and alot of people think you dont need to be good to play touch competitively

geeeeee wiz. I'm seeing a sh**load of hate like what the heck.. AYY! No one cares 😬😬😠 Touch is sweet as bro so CHUU
RRRR. ☝✌✌✌✋ :)

What is the go with all these wingers it's like they are playing middle because middles are drawing and passing on then wings😂
Shaun johnson is the best.. His side steps and passes always on point unfortunately you shifted to rugby league.. Thats my opinion
Nehemiah Koren Pali Pokowas wrong
Nehemiah Koren Pali Pokowas no way lol
Johnson was good but best??? funny how ppl forget Remus Gentles, in his prime was the best All Time full stop!!!
4000 passes from his right to left and 4 passes from his left to right.
I think its pretty obvious he heavily favours the left side of the field.
Best in the world I think not.
Best team in the world yes but certainly no the best player in the world.
6.16
idk but that is a pretty big left to right pass
People that class players by having a good step -_-
Garnnnnnnn🤫
if hes so good put him in a sevens team, see how he copes under physical contact-shauns proven, love to see him in all blacks for rio
DTj rejd R's jfvt
+TheSilatiger thats like saying get floyd mayweather to fight vladmir
Dumbest comment
my top four would have too be peter walters remus gentles drummy and johnson
Johnson only played high school level before he switched to league, pete walters has never played in the modern era of touch at the elite level and dominated so it's hard to say how good he is / was. it's a cool sport n it's one of dem types that's FUN but at da same time .. (widout knowin..) a huge workout so YAH HA 😂
I'd say Aaron smith probably has a better pass...
nah bro I no Remus personally good ol takanini boy bo
Dean Williams still TBE
shaun johnson would make him look average
No just.. No
dgfhbh agreed
He would get smashed he is shit
Nicole Collingwood you
dgfhbh so true this kid looks like he's stepping fairies Shaun Johnson will show him out man
nearly every single try that is scored is because the opposing wing isn't marking the attacking wing....
***** but then you can just pass it to the wing every time? like shown in this video...
Angus McArthur-Williams It's better they score on the wing then in the middle its a key concept in touch
Angus McArthur-Williams which is why Hennessey is such a great player - because he can deliver that pass. Sebbettful Agreed
Angus McArthur-Williams give your self a face palm asap
Great footwork and awareness. Haveta admit, though, shitload of forward passes in their ;-)
willie morunga not this fala kazzz
Shaun Johnsons passes are better
umm yes
best touch player in the world, what a joke
why is it a joke? He's technically sound in all aspects of his game. Where's anyone else's 8minute highlight reel in the touch worlds top tournaments / competitions ?? My only concern is the sideways cap he always rocks...
Cuz your probably don’t play touch Dickhead
Is this considered an actual sport?
Austin Tegano yes
Fuck u on
Far youse guys are funny talking like that.
If you saw benji, johnson, hennessey and milner-skudder... they'd all be like "yeah whatever.."
People think they know it all. hahaha
if you ever see or meet benji or johnson ask them who remus jentles is,i can tell you and i no this for a fact they will tell you that he was the man.no1 could stop remus.
Lol cut it out with the music.. its touch
Yeah Ive played touch football abit..I never saw a pianist on the sideline putting out some somber melody..I think that music piece was called."touching"
lots of forward passes.

CaptainGta5
Not bad. A bit greedy.
He's not that good
Gay!!
Shaun Johnson best
he is a good talent... but looks pretty average next to Benji, Shaun and Tuivasa-Sheck
Kenari Stainton because you're comparing just the stepping aspect. Comparing people to dylan is dumb as no one does what he does. Dylan made the NZ national opens team look average his lassing shredded them to pieces.

David Dewar Who is than?
No Johnson did it first
shaun johnson is better
Adrian Brown fuck off
hes gud but nt realy the best,if youv played touch rugby bfo chances r youv seen sum1 better
Shaun Johnson would waste this nub
No he wouldn't you dumb fuck
I hate to burst your bubble guys, but if you go to any high level rugby club and watch them play touch buggers before training you'll see three guys on every squad with better skills than this guy.
Two things to keep in mind here...there are females on the field and its just a tad easier to do these skills if you aren't getting smashed and have to retain ball possession after the tackle.
I can't tell if this is a serious comment or not lol
You are saying women are worse than men? Newsflash it depends on the player not the gender so stfu.
Rugby without tackling is absolute horseshit
Was looking for hennessy Milner logic and UA-cam brought me here... dafuq is touchball?
Sounds like a gaybar
My aunys better.ash quinlan
kinda wayyyyyy over rated to be honest
look so boring 😤😟
Over rated😭
touch footy is for chumps who cant play a real contact sport like league or union.
Some people do both man, played at different times of the year i play it in my off season. Its a good way to build your skills while still maintaining fitness and giving your body a break from the physical pressure. The sport itself isn't trying to be better then league or union.

this sport is so pathetic
What sport do u play. This sport makes you fit by being quick and agile
man if you are going to shit on the sport why even watch this. I bet you have never even played touch to a proper level and understand even the basic tactic.
+mikey cureton me
+Tiger Shark rugby union and 7s
+Finley Howard awesome
