Horror fans love Friday the 13th movies. The story of Jason Voorhees coming back from the dead after his mother Pamela Voorhees (Betsy Palmer) could no longer take revenge on the counselors at Camp Crystal Lake for letting her son Jason drown is a classic. The character of Jason Voorhees (who was either created by Victor Miller or Tom Savini, depending on who you ask) has become as iconic as any villain in the horror genre. Seriously, how iconic is that Jason hockey mask? The first Friday the 13th movie from 1980 is a classic. But all twelve films (yes, there are now twelve films - assuming you count Freddy vs. Jason and the 2009 reboot directed by Marcus Nispel), the video games, comic books, and the fan-made films, etc, are all popular and give us fans endless Friday the 13th things to talk about.
So when the actual day of Friday the 13th falls, what better place for fans to gather and meet than Blairstown, New Jersey? The filming location of the first Friday movie (from 1980, directed by Sean Cunningham). The Blairstown Diner (which was seen in the movie) is not only a great place to eat, but also offers a small convention known as the "mini con" right behind it. There's so many F13 fans there! Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco (the filming location of Camp Crystal Lake) in Hardwick, New Jersey, is a short drive down the road, and is usually closed to the general public (but on rare occasions does make special deals allowing some fans to enter). However, for me personally, I had such a great time at The Friday the 13th Museum on Main Street of Blairstown, that this video mainly focuses on that. That place is full of so many props from different movies and fan films. Please watch this video about it!

Love the new video Joe. Can’t wait to go back again for my 5th visit
Thanks so much, Peter! I believe the only time we get a Friday the 13th in 2023 is October. That could be a fun time to visit!
Wow I didn't know that there was an entire museum
Yeah, the museum is great! As said in the video, the museum is only open on Friday the 13th (so once or twice a year). But hopefully in the future it will be every Friday!
Logan here, thanks for stopping by the museum! Hope to see you again!
Logan! Now I remember: you did subscribe to my channel on your phone right after we shot the interview! Thanks so much for talking to me. As I said, I had a great time in Blairstown, and definitely want to go back (and visit the museum again)... And if you can, please email this video to Janette. Thanks!
Hi Logan. Will you be there again on Friday the 13th of this month?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff I'll actually be in my home state getting married this year. Maybe next time!
@@hankmurphy01 Oh, wow! Congratulations!
Logan, congratulations, again! I hope your wedding went great... Now, if you don't mind me asking, I am very curious: what happened to the museum? I did return to Blairstown this past October, and I although I overall had a terrific time, I was surprised and disappointed to see that the space where the museum was had become a bicycle store.
I grew up on main street. one building down from the theater. I played under the library "Tunnel" went up to blair lake , went to the movies when it was a real theater. My father helped build the camp in the movies years ago.
Really? That's so awesome!
Great tour! Looks like a good time.
Thanks! It sure is a great time. I hope you can make it there someday!
Amazing video
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it. I'm glad you liked it.
Glad to see your great stuff again, Joe, but I'd like to see your ideas for a Flash movie. Also what did you think of the new Hocus Pocus?
hi Michael! Thanks for watching... I'll be curious to see what they do with this upcoming Flash movie. I wasn't crazy about Ezra Miller in the Justice League movie, but I wasn't crazy about Jason Momoa in the JL movie either (and I thought he turned out to be much better in the Aquaman movie). So I'll give this Flashpoint movie a chance. I can be open to seeing an Ezra Miller Flash movie released while the Grant Gustin series is still running (although, the TV show is supposed to reach it's finish line soon)... What would I do if I were hired to write/produce a Flash movie? For me personally, nothing beats seeing John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick. So if it were up to me, I'd do a movie focusing on JWS playing JG as the #1 lead character, serving as a mentor for new, young JSA members. And I'd make it so we see a lot of Garrick's flashbacks to when he was younger with the original JSA (and use de-aging CGI on JWS). But would you want to see that? I'm not sure how many other people would. I'm just explaining what would be my ideas for a Flash movie... What did I think of Hocus Pocus 2? I loved it! I thought the three witches were much funnier the second time, and the movie held a very similar tone to the original. I would have liked to have seen some more locations really shot in Salem (though I don't know how many other fans cared about that). And I I would have liked to have seen Max, Allison and Dani appear, but I thought Becca and all the new characters were great! Overall, I thought it was an excellent sequel!
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff i loved hocus pocus 2 as well, it wasn’t a complete retread of the original but it was still pretty good also what JWS?
@@michaellucejr.6374 JWS = John Wesley Shipp
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff oh that makes sense
Hes back
You're voice somehow makes me wanna go chew some gum
Cool!
