Some are baffled in that way, some the other way around...but always baffled. ^^ - for those who expect bus drivers or sales assistants to speak english...be aware that we learn English in school and those who were pretty good in school aren't typically learning these professions. In the UK, we also learn another language at school, but nobody really learns it properly, even people who have high grades. I have relatives who speak two languages, and I've very, very rarely met someone else who is bilingual, even if they are of migrant descent. If you speak two languages in the UK, it's considered impressive. Where as in your country, I imagine speaking two languages is just the norm. I think it's hard for non native English speakers to understand just how unusual it would be to expect your average British person to be capable of speaking another language briefly, let alone do a whole video in it.

@Connor Gaughan At the top, it's hard to quantify but you know it when you see it. Magnus just pulls the bar to and through his chest. scapulas are fully sucked back, retracted and down. this allows the biceps to fully contract.

    • @ggfdd5925

As someone who trains, the massive intensity he showed at the beginning absolutely robbed him on how many he could do total. There's a Goldilocks zone to rep speed, too slow and the extended engagement time kills you, too fast and the inertia acts as extra weight, and if you go full intensity, the only limiting factors are muscle engagement speed, and strength against that inertial effect, such that in some cases youre essentially doing near max muscle capacity on every rep, slowing down as the muscle fatigues and looses capability. I absolutely think if he did it at the same speed as magnus hed have another 5 or so reps in it. Even with weight youre used to, nothing leaves you feeling dead after a set like hitting it with intensity.

Tysier some dialects in Norway is really close to old norse and “vallemål” has been the same for hundreds of years and has not changed a lot since the viking ages. But many Icelanders can actually read old norse as its almost the same language

I Love the way they are doing sit ups!!! Friends always used to comment me on my abs and ask me what I did to get my shape (after having kids, etc), yet call me crazy when I was hanging upside down to show them.. (you can cling on to another human to quikly show them how, no equipment needed..) They thought I was going to lay on the ground or something.. But I Love doing sit ups like this since I was a teenager!!! This way you don't hurt your back (automatically fixes your form in my opinion) and you can enjoy the burn!!! Great video all the way in my opinion!!!

I think those "sit-ups" in english are called "Viking Situps". Seriously, this was a great episode. The mutual respect and admiration for one another was really clear. Its got to be a real honor to get encouragement (and that hat!!) from Norway's defenders.

Here is a tip Magnus in case you didn't notice but on the sit ups Thomas did not control himself on the way down, just let go of his core and used the bounce off the pad to help his momentum back up. You were slowly going back down and wasting your energy. This is how you get high numbers on tests like these in the military. Once again though super cool video, these guys are beasts! Til valhalla vikings!

Magnus is a machine! It's just outstanding how he excels in so many disciplines. Rock climbing. American Ninja Warrior. Army training. Magnus is on the smaller side too. I would never expect him to be the beast he is. The best part is Magnus does all of this with humility. Also, kudos to the Norwegian Army too. They are all model citizens.
