    Hi , coming to you, after having studied a trauma informed therapeutic movement process ( my mentor was Feldenkrais trained ) and a lifetime of a basic instinct going back to proverbial awareness - of central role of traumatic experiences shaping human lives from birth onward . I am 69 yr. Old profoundly hard of hearing woman ; finding this a natural progression to find you - but after the worst 4 years of my later life ( since right before the pandemic ).
    So glad to have found you and Seth , and connected here .
    Will do 21 Day - as soon as I can …thank you for all the free things to start the path forward ….

    I was thinking about getting this. I struggle with body armoring and its so painful to have the foot on the break and gas at the same time. I am tired of living stuck.

      ​@@IreneLyon i guess my question is if it works for the body armoring and intense anxiety?. I know I tend to freeze up because the fear based energy is so constant and overwhelming while I do daily life things.

      @@fifiearthwanderer - Seth here with Team Lyon. Yes, for sure. Body armoring and intense anxiety are both rooted in what we call unresolved sympathetic activation - the body getting ready to fight or flee all the time, underneath the surface. The 21 Day program alone may not be enough on its own to completely resolve all your symptoms, but it can certainly give you a good start on working with it, and lay the solid foundations for any further work you may need to do.

    Dear Irene&team, thank you for all that you teach me and others. It has been a long journey for me with almost 20 years of very impactful IBS & me/ cfs.. i have heard hours and hours of your talks and also have started slowly the 21 day tune up.
    I have a question, it is maybe too spesific to give an answer to, but I'll give it a try..
    The last year my body has started to open up to me as there is more capacity and less pushing from my side. I sleep very poorly cause of belly pain and unease 70%of the time.. but when I occasionally get a fuller night, my body goes into a weird state many times during the day. It feels like a type of overwhelm in my brain, my eyes roll backwards and I need to lay down preferably dark and protected. When I lay down and let my body do what it needs to it starts to shake, breathe heavily, sometimes cry, also my jaw can make this shake like if I where cold. I also noticed that my body want to be touched on very specific points, sometimes I just hold a finger on a point at my chest or belly and it can come waves of cry and shake... It feels like a journey, and if I really let my body do it's thing, not always, but at times I feel much better after laying down especially if I have managed to be with my body and not go up in my mind or stress.. if I feel better I can feel energised and be up for a run or dance or tidying and my mind feels much clearer..
    I work with a body therapist but she doesn't seem to know too much about this.. it's been like this for a year now, and i feel it gets more intense. I haven't been able to work for many years and I feel with this new thing now I feel even more debilitated. It takes soo much time.. if I could know it will get better it is okay to let it take time.. but in me there is also a scary feeling of that this might be some old me/CFS symptoms coming back and that I need to net give it attention.. (like they advice you to do in those brain retraining programs). Do you have any thoughts here? Or where to go to find information about these kind of releases.. what is actually happening.. I'm curious and a bit worried to get worse and worse.

      smelloforanges, Jen here from Team Lyon. It's great to hear that absorbing Irene's videos has been supportive to you, and that you're a member of the 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up. I'll share a few thoughts with you here, and you might also consider asking your question on the 21 Day NS Tune Up course site where we can also point you towards practices you have access to in that course.
      The shaking, eye movements, breathing heavily, crying and more can happen as we allow held experiences and survival responses to move through. We call this sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activation. When you feel better, calmer, have energy, etc., those are probably signs of what we call deactivation, or settling in the nervous system.
      As we grow nervous system regulation, we also grow the ability to ride waves of activation and deactivation. However, it sounds like your waves are quite big. You might benefit from doing less, perhaps doing shorter practices, and focusing on those that feel settling and soothing to your nervous system. We call this titrating in this work. I'll link to a few related resources, and also to a practice you might try both anytime as well as when you're feeling a lot.

    Hello! Does the 21 course help to help heal a traumatic Ayahuasca experience? I did see Juan Pablos video with Irene but wanted to see if more people have gone through the program after these traumatic blowouts from the ceremony, and help them recover.

    How do people manage to do this work whilst being in situations that are activating? I work in childcare and we're working through a very rough patch so I'm in such a deep stress/survival mode. Started the first lesson but finding it so hard to be with. Ironic as now is when I need it most. Also finding the time. Feels like its impossible to do this work and keep up with the cost of living.

    And another question: through various other resources, I know what the nervous system is, how trauma is stored and all the educational part. What I’m looking for is the exercises to apply. I looked at the website and the 21 day course is a lot about education. Is this than the wrong one for me and I rather should go with drop in classes?

      Hello, Sophia from Team Lyon here. The drop-in classes are a great way to get acquainted with Irene's work and start working on your nervous system, so definitely a good place to start. The 21 Day course is self-paced and full of rich info and neurosensory exercises, but we always advise our students to titrate and complete the course in their own pace, even if that means months or a year.

In terms of the order in which to take in the free info, consider balancing educational content (theory) with experiential content (neurosensory exercises) as that keeps you listening and learning in different ways. Then, you can experiment with the frequency of neurosensory exercises you do to see what pace works best for you.

    I am considering going through the 21 days NS Tune Up, but on one of the FAQ
    WHO IS THIS PROGRAM NOT FOR? It mentions not for people experiencing suicidal ideation; why so?

      Hi M, this is because this program is not a replacement for therapy, and if someone has suicidal ideation than they will very likely need more support than the 21 Day Tune Up can offer. If someone has this support, the 21 Day course might be a powerful complement. - Jen from Team Lyon

      Monk Mind, Jen here from Team Lyon. The 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up can get you started in that direction. How big a bite you take out can depend on a mix of how you engage with the 21 Day Course, and also on your history. Sometimes it's quite a big bite!
      It's a potent course, and a great way to learn the basics of nervous system learning and healing. You'll learn practices that you can incorporate into your everyday life that over time, will help you to grow the capacity needed to take a bit out of toxic shame.
