Great video! Great shots! Great everything! Only negative I saw was that FRAM oil filter. Those things have a bad reputation. Other than that though, great video.
@@10PetersonTyler Yup. Just a warning. Terrible stories I heard. Most of them are somewhere along the lines of the paper inside the filters somehow breaking off and getting sucked into the engine causing the engine to seize and blow up. Scary.
thanks great video...i have a bigbear and the seal is leaking...never done one before...you make it look easy. Do you happen you have the part number? thanks again
Here is the link to the parts breakdown. www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/50039395f870021f60a0e07a/drive-shaft I believe the seal you are looking for in number 13 in the diagram. Part number 91302-44454-00
If you contact the Yamaha dealer they should be able to help you. The universal I used was aftermarket. The one from Yamaha is very expensive. Here is the link to that part www.amazon.ca/Caltric-U-JOINT-YAMAHA-KODIAK-YFM-450/dp/B014PZW3ZU Have a great day
Serious question. Setting machine onto back rack is brilliant. What are the repercussions of doing this as far as fluids go. Maybe a dumb question but do all the fluids have to be drained? I want to use this method using the winch. I don’t own a fancy skid steer jack😉.
Not a dumb question. There is a fuel shut off on the side of the tank. Turn that too off before lifting the atv. I think the atv is meant to sit on the back rack. All 4 wheelers seem to. If you are planning on replacing the oil seal like I did I would suggest draining the engine oil before you lift the bike up. Let me know.if you have any other questions. Bobcaygeon isn't to far from where I live. Have a good one.
@@10PetersonTyler Thx, for responding. I'm just tracing the oil leak now. Hoping it's not the seal you had to replace, maybe something easier. I have a few friends in Bobcaygeon. I'm about 1.5 hours from there towards Orillia. I picked the name because it's a great tune by a great band....... pure Canadiana. Plus the Americans think my name is Bob. Cheers, thx. again for the info.
Haha. Dark Canuck is a tragically hip song from the album In Violet Light. Unless you already figured that out. Coincidence? We are in Muskoka. Good luck with fixing the bike.
Thank you, the problem is because s not os for me to find yamaha dealer in my country, Though that the inner and out numbers can help me to buy it in an shop that has that kind of seal, no meter that is for car or other things, has it much.
