I purchased a new Honda 300 fourtrax in ,96. After 15 years I went into a large V twin can am. Loved it, apart from when I got it stuck or in really tight stuff. Was too heavy for most of the work I do. Decided to sell it, drag the 300 out of retirement and give it a refurbishment. (Slightly larger tyres, a small winch etc). Yes it’s slow, but I can easily wrestle it around or turn it over by myself if I get it stuck. Low and slow seems to work well for the work I do…. A 450 yammie would be a nice middle ground machine for sure. Nice channel you have. Regards, Sean.
best thing about my 98 Yamaha big bear 350 other that it's still running great. is that it doesn't have all that plastic that has to be removed to do anything. Love mine. It will go anywhere. Handles great. The suspension on mine is fine. I dialed it softer plus make sure you don't have the tires overinflated.
I sold my 84 Honda TRX200 in 2018, it was still running fine and a great asset around the farm. Displacement isn't everything. I'm the wrong guy to ask if small machines are good, because I've never had a big machine.
I have 2 polaris 450s technicality 500s. But either way they have more than enough power for me and I'm a big guy. Heck i even towed a friends yamaha yxz out of the woods for like 8 miles. ( now before all the comments it had a blown clutch is why it was towed.) But I've been very happy with those machines. Although don't use them much anymore except for yard work. I'm getting to old to beat around on a atv. So i bought a 2022 yamaha x2 and love it.
Hi man your work is great I like to watch each video. I need your help, could you tell me the inner and out size of YFM 400cc kodiak grizzly midle drive oil seal, both of them (front and rear).
@AppalachianMountainRiders thanks I'll try to do that, I need to buy in Alliexpress, in my country isn't possible to find it and in Alliexpress I don't find using a oem cod.
I have that exact year and special edition machine, same color! Maybe you can help me out sir, it cranks and idles great, but at around 1/3 - 1/2 throttle It boggs and dies! It has brand new adjusted carb, not junk, but I can remove the air filter and close off the crank case vent hole and choke down the intake there at the same time, and it will take all the throttle you can give it! So, I leaning towards a fuel pump adjustment or valve and exhaust valve adjustment or both. With that being said, it started doing this a while back out of the blue with oem carburetor, but tank was cleaned and also petcock, so here we are! What route would you go?
May be time to replace the spark plug however if the carb is an eBay or Amazon special, don’t matter if it’s tuned or not I’ve seldom had one run right. You said the carb is not junk but anything short of oem can be hard to get running right. When it comes to fuel delivery don’t skimp out! And keep in mind revving it in neutral is not the same as revving under load while running. I’ve had machines with cheap carbs run great in the shop in neutral but as soon as I took it out it fell on its face under load.
@AppalachianMountainRiders I changed the plug, cleaned the tank and removed the petcock and added fuel filter before installing carb, it is from a us manufacturer Wynn cycle iv had great performance from them on Hondas a 2011 big bear and also it's doing what started out of the blue with ghe oem carb, and I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I haven't adjusted any valves as of yet.
I did change the oil yes. That was kinda an obvious step being that it was over full😂😂😂 I had a feeling since I didn’t show it or mention it in the video someone would chime in on how I should have changed the oil. UA-cam comments are so predictable🤣
Thats plenty fast. I had a kawasaki 650 that would go over 60. No need to go that fast on a 4 wheeler. And they have much more powerful machines now. 35 is fast enough enough
I had a Kodiak 350 years ago. It handled the trails just as well as the bigger ones that I bought later. Great machine.

Light and nimble is the way to go.
Get well soon.
The mid bore utility quads really grew the sport in the early 2000s. There will always be a market for quads like these.
Shoot I have a rubicon 520 DCT and love it for trail riding it has all the power I need

That you’re going to have to look up on some place like partzilla or rockymountianatcmc. I don’t know what the sizes are off hand.

Do you have any videos on the pioneer 1000

So you didnt do a oil change? It would be good for the machine to have oil and not gas in the crank.

@@AppalachianMountainRiders Well it doesnt take many seconds to say that you have done it.
It for sure took you longer to write that comment...
