The young man is gaining a priceless education at the hands of a master. Kudos Brent for taking him under your wing!
I was going to say the same thing. I would love to be his neighbor and I'm 62. I would follow him around like he walked on water. (Randy Travis song) lol
Good of you to give the kid some hands on time. There are some out there that want that opportunity but don't have the option. Always rewarding to see them have that opportunity. Good of you to provide that.
Ok something different !Nice of you to show this young fellow how too weld he will remember this for the rest of his life ! thanks for sharing.
Awesome video, that young man will never forget the hands on help, hope to see more of him.
I'll bet that young man is so excited to learn this stuff, he likely has been bragging none stop to his friends, I know I would have! Great stuff!
This is so cool. If only someone kind like you had helped me like this when I was younger. Well done you.
Did you check the fuel screw adjustment on the front bottom part of the carb. there is a aluminum plug hiding it. you can adjust it to get your fuel mixture correct 1 1/2 to 2 turns out.
Man that little guy is very lucky to have such a great teacher/ shop instructor as you ! Great project.... I loved the heat treated plastic rehab very cool !!! Keep up the great work
As so many have already said, it's good that you are sharing your knowledge with this young man. He will know how to fix/make his own stuff and not just toss it out and buy a new one.
Great that you are passing along knowledge to the next generation. Everything I know and learned was from older guys. I’m in my 60’s and still learning. God bless you sir.
You’re a real class act. What a great experience the young lad is getting. Great to see. Thanks for sharing.
Great show Brent. Teaching the next generation some of the tricks of the trade, Really cool. 👍
You could shoot Mustie1 a message and see if he's got any ideas on what's possibly going wrong with the engine. Interesting and entertaining video, as always.
Looks like you've got a good helper..and guiding him in a a good direction, I like that..
Thumbs up to you Brent for being a mentor. Growing up on a Dairy Farm in Wisconsin my father didn't know how to fix machinery he'd tell me to watch him take it apart so I could put it back together cause he couldn't remember. I've taught my own children how to work on their vehicles with confidence.
I like the fact you aren’t afraid to tackle any type of problem with any type of vehicle.
Thanks Brent for taking a young man to keep off the phone and hands out of pockets. He's gonna appreciate you when he gets older for sure. Your just an all around great guy for sure
Just noted its nearly 2 years since you posted the first General build vidya .....don't time fly ? Still here - still enjoying your channel :)
Always good to see young ones in the shop!!
Lovin the music!!!
Those are skill he will use the rest of his life. Great job Brent!
Good helper!, finding help these day is rare. Nicely done, he will remember this.
The knowledge he gets from you, he will not get in any vocation school! There are shortcuts to doing things faster and safer than any schoolbook could ever teach him! Hands on learning is the best way to go!
Fantastic! I really enjoyed you involving/teaching a young person!
Coming soon! Halfass Kustoms Jr.
I do enjoy the 2nd channel stuff... maybe borrow/ steal sieve from the wife's kitchen for the tiny carb pieces in the sonic cleaner.. It is so awesome that you are mentoring that young fella...
They make a tea steeper hinged holder that works great for small parts
My Southwestern US Thought Pattern: Plow? Rink? Canada? Hockey? Oh yeah! Lol!
Good on ya for educating that young guy.
Great job you teaching and mentoring the young man we need more people teaching the trades Great job
Someone told me they went to a fight and a hockey game broke out.
That’s pretty cool.
I’m 65 & psyching up for an LS swap, not to mention the metal repairs I have employed.
That kid is not the only one learning from HA customs.
Thanks to you.
Doug from Steveston BC
It's always nice to have a shop helper . It reminds me of me at that age riding around the neighborhood looking for someone working out in their shop just hanging out watching them
check the wires and connections in your spark system. Miss could be wire shorting out or loose, commutator is internal and voltage regulator is external.
I see my favorite build in the back ground.
So Cool Passing it on, and he's not on the dumb phone, Neat!.....
Thank you for showing the young lad.
I use a metal household strainer to put the little stuff in. One that will let them sit in the mix of course. I am sure you have figured this out by now. haha. I have had my Ultrasonic cleaner for about 14 years. Cleaned many a carburetor in its day.
Superb video! Saw a lot of promising pointers in the comments below. Hopefully one of those leads will pan out for you. Kid did a heckuva job. Hope he's a semi-regular so you can get the extra set of hands you need sometimes to get things done. The experience the young Sparky will acquire is priceless. Cheers!!!
That young guy will remember this time learning beneficial skill. Maybe he could help you on some of your projects builds.
Full size battery should make a good counterweight for wheelies!! Haha. Great to see new generations interested in fixin’ and fabbin’ stuff. Cheers!!
Well done Brent, Rider is going to be a car guy with all your influence.
You are a ginius. You gave a young man a chance to learn the skillis he may carry on throug life as my father taught me. You are what we people are all all about.. Keep it up, we need you.
That quad has a mind of its own, sounds fine when its revvin. Your helper works well with minimum supervision, good to have near when extra hands are needed, Waiting for your next video, Stu in Ontario....
I had same problem of poor idle on my Honda FourTrax. Take a small wood block and place against carb body. Gently tap with a hammer to loosen carb float. Spray carb cleaner down the air box toward the carb jet area. Install new $17.00 fuel pump, install new fuel filter and ensure fuel hoses are free of dirt, etc. Idle should return to normal RPM without engine cutting off due to fuel starvation.
My Big Bear was doing the same. I rebuilt the carb, Still the same. The air idle screw that is on the bottom of carb is hard to get to without the proper tool. I just kept removing the carb enough and adjusting the Air screw to keep it running and not dieing and finally got it to idle.
I have used a. Extra large sleeping bag case waterproof on my atv great vid same atv same problem
It's the idle set screw needs turned up.,or the fuel air mixture screw needs backed out to the left smidge to let idle.&that miss is from valve sticking. Just add in some stp with bars stop leak that has zinc additives.,or just get some pure zinc to add into the crankcase motor oil.
Nice on getting the young lad involved. Good on ja Brent. Loved watching the lad do stuff on the quad. And u mentoring him. Priceless.
They're all good man. Thank you!🍺🎃🐾
Try and find a loss leaf tea basket for your small carb parts .
Could be a bent rod? Awesome experience for the young lad, he will remember this for the rest of his life.
i think the intake boot has possibly got a crack in it. That kid is awesome 😎👍
I see a new UA-cam Channel, (Young Gun Customs). How awesome you are teaching the younger generation how to use their hands to create rather then playing video games. 👍👍👍
Rider is a good team when you need him, and I'll catch ya on the next one
The Helper is great, he knows what he is doing. Surely not afraid to get his hand on the tools..! You need to get him in more videos..Really enjoyed you guys working together.. The shop helper love it..!
Very kind of you to take the time to teach and inspire this young man, as usual, I'm impressed. Your friend from Massachusetts USA 🇺🇸.
That kid will learn a lot from someone with your knowledge! A lucky youngster for sure! 👌
This is something this young guy will remember for the rest of his life, the times he spent with the neighbor Brent fixing stuff in the shop, and when he gets older he will say " the good ole times." You're a good man Brent.
Truth be known, I'm sure Brent enjoyed it as much as the young man did 👍👍👍👍👍👍 reminded him when he was teaching his own children.
Yeah, Brent, that young feller is gonna be a future "Gear Head", with your instruction, he's almost there already! Pablo was giving you the "Dirty Doggie" Look for not giving him a ride on the Quad!
Excellent divertissement! Always fun to watch yours videos. And good job kiddo!
That's awesome you teaching someone young how to to do things. Not enough of that going on now a days.
Definitely need to have him in some more videos
The old Bernz-O-Matic kits had a heat diffuser to strip oil based paints off wood. Maybe that would help to give you a nice even look when you’re redoing the plastic.
That kid did a good job for you. But there’s nothing you can’t do Brent. Thanks for Sharing!
A loose tea “egg” works great for small loose parts, also paint cups with the parts cleaner in it works great you just need a weight tho hold down the cup.
*- Brent, even at high speed replay, I can see you are a good teacher, a natural.*
Minty !
Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out .
Later ...
It's good to see you encouraging the youngsters. So few of them seem to have any interest in this sort of thing these days. We have a local model engineering club going to the wall because it seems only the older guys are interested, and no new blood is coming through.
I would bet that the issue is still the carb. In the past I stripped and cleaned and serviced a Weber carb and I just could not get it to play ball. Once I replaced it the engine ran like a Swiss watch. I hate being beaten but I just could not see what was wrong. I would try and get another carb to try.
I concur with the previous comments concerning Ryder's fortunate opportunity to have someone with your skill sets take' the time to show and teach him some basic shop skills. Everyone his age should have this benefit as it will always come in handy when thinking thru problems and how to tackle them. Thanks
Something tells me Brent when you sleep at night your dreams include turning wrenches!😆
BTW: That is a great idea, to use the torch to brighten up the plastic. I have a fan type attachment, that fits on the nozzle of the torch, and I am going to give your technique a try on my plastic lawn garden trailer.
Doesn't matter how long it took, you still got it running.
I love how you matched the upholstery. Nothing like good duck tape work
The kid is a good student, willing to dig right in. Works well with his hands.
New toy !
Try putting the idle up, nice ride, all the best to you and your loved ones
Good Job Dude....
I think it's awesome that you are sharing your ability with your little friend, and hope you both are enjoying each others company. Trayl from Utube can tell you everything you need to know about your machine. I probably have the name spelled wrong. He probably has a utube video on this machine.
Taryl Fixes All - great channel for small engine tips!
Keep the young feller at it, he's a natural!
It’s awesome that you are taking this young man under your wing he will talk about you teaching him for the rest of his life!
That was nice of you to let the neighborhood kid help you. When I was a young pup I use to like to tag along with the grown ups and help them. Learned a lot from them I use in my life now. Your a good man Brent passing your knowledge to the next generation.
When I was very young we lived in Austria and our house was in the same grounds as a BMW dealer ship, weeknights and weekends I used to help the security guard to repair cars and it’s were I gained my knowledge, did a lot of work on haflingers which is were they were made in Gratz Austria by styr puch . Gezzz those were the days.
you can use one of those magnetic bowls that people put their car parts in when working on a vehicle
For the engine, try running it off a separate bottle and line directly to the carb. That's one thing. And another, play with the carb's settings, clip, needle, whole lot to see if something changes (other than the obvious things).
We can tell it's winter in the great white north insulated bibs and a hoodie and the preparation for snow.
When I was that young there was a Ford mechanic and stock car racer in the neighborhood who let me change plugs, pull blown trannies, cut roofs off rollovers and helped me tune my Go Cart. Because of him I worked my way through high school and college as a small engine mechanic. Brent you are that guy to this young fellow, good on you! Great video!
Kool piece of equipment particularly the fire paint, nice rehab. Decent little big helper. Hoping for the best & awaiting, the next one...! Thanks again.
I wish I was that kid the joy to work with you and I'm 62
Help the young fellow learn how to half-ass things on his first vehicle you have true friend for life
tricks of the trade....thx Brent...fun one :)
Brent , I bought a piece of stainless steel screen (like window screen) and lined my basket and wired it in . Works Great ! Thanks for the videos !
It's just something you can try to see if it stops it from freezing up on yours. Rv antifreeze though like for dumping into the holding tank for toilet.& Other waste water it collects.
Hey Brent. Very nice of you to show the youngster a thing or two. He looks very interested! He will always remember you showing him some things. Very nice video!
Looks like a great time. Teach, play, clean. Lots of learning went on.
Great job mentoring this young man Brent. We need a million more like you and millions more like this young one taking interest.
Very nice of the neighbor kid to help the old man fix his quad 😅😅😅😅
I have to add on to the appreciation of your mentorship of the young man. Also, there are precious few youngsters these days that want to learn from their elders. Although not successful in the end result, showing Ryder the craft is a WIN, WIN, WIN.
Pine Sol cleaner works good in those for removing off the carbon.& Corrosion to. It may discolor the metal though to. If it's not mixed with one gallon of water to every two bottles.,or one gallon jug of pines sol cleaner I mix it with carburetor cleaner the gumout kind with two drops of dish soap mixed up really good to.
