- On a road trip, a chunk of concrete damaged a wheel bearing. See how easy it is to replace a complete wheel hub and bearing assembly on a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek.
Hee is a link to the OEM front wheel hub: amzn.to/3CCkWnw
And, the axle nut that fits most Subarus: amzn.to/3ET3PQn
Ffs. I guess i gor thr wrong torque specs. Used 2018 and not 2019. Torqued to 63 and 140. Bearing sound went away at low speed but came back at 100kph. Looks like I already messedy new part up and wasted my time. Nice. Going to torque to 162 now but damage is probably done even though I only drove 20km.
Would be nice if it was just my rear one goong.
If I can't find torque specs on line, I will get them from the dealership. Usually can find the factory service manual online for most Subaru's.
Is the 2018 Crosstrek the same?
You would need to check the part number but the procedure for replacing it is the same.
Where did you find the torq information and what were you doing with the hammer and pin
I got the torque specs from the factory service manual, you can find it on line. The new axel nut needs to be staked, that's bending the outer flange into the groove on the shaft. That prevents it from loosening.
Great video. I'm about to do my rear hub again... don't buy aftermarket hubs unless you want to do the repair twice like I am!
I learned that the hard way also, on another car.
Damnn i just bought 4 moog wheel bearing and hub.. 😢
Excellent Video. Used your video for a 2019 Subaru Forester. Only difference is dust shield is removable after you remove the rotor. Held on by 3 bolts.
Thank you, it's good to learn what the different models are like for repair.
Does this apply to a 2016 cross trek?
The bearing may be a different part number but replacement steps are the same.
What brand impact gun? Nice job explaining the process. A happy subscriber here.

Will this work on a 2022 crosstrek sport? Thank you ahead of time!
It may be a different part number, but the design is the same.
Just ordered them same part number. Thank you for doing the video it’s going to help me out a ton!
How long did this take, all in all?
About an hour
This is my next job on my 06 Forester XT
No rust where I am so it should not be a problem.
You will find that your forester bearing is pressed in and not a bolt in. It's more like what I did during the disk break conversion on the outback sport.
