I bought one of these to record drums and just have a great quality interface for a great price. I’m very happy with it so far, I just hope the mixer will be added to an IOS app. This thing fits so well with my iPad Pro, to add the mixer would be perfect! There are so many iPad/mobile musicians out there, it feels like an obvious choice.
This interface has been working amazingly for me on IPad.
Thanks was struggling to set this up before!
Great info to begin with evo 8. Thank you
Can the latest Ipad Pro power up all 4 Input with phantom power all at the same time?
The iPad Pro with a USB-C port will power all 4 phantom power channels
Kindly help mine is not working properly and it does not allow me to record vocal if select evo drivers
This may simply be a setup issue, can you let us know what software and OS you are using and we can give you some things to try?
Thanks for the replying i manage to fix it
Bro......... How many channels of audio can I record from this unit at once. I need two stereo tracks simultaneously or four mono.
You can record four mono tracks at once or pair them up and record two stereo tracks.
Are the mic input gains, phantom power toggles and headphone output settings persistent when unit powered off and on? Since there is no ipad mixer app, this would be very helpful especially in my situation (audiobook narration)
These settings are stored on the host computer so I'm afraid these wont move across if you used the EVO on an iOS device.
...is this compatible with Ableton 10?
Do I need the driver for M1 Mac? Or Will it work straight? If so, what's the driver for?
The EVO 8 will work without any drivers installed on macOS as it uses the CoreAudio drivers for audio. You can however install the EVO mixer application that gives you control over your monitoring and device settings
Used to using 1/4 stereo input jacks from my keyboard, so will I have to use XLR's or XLR adapters?
The input connectors on the EVO 8 are combi conenctors so you can connect both XLR and TRS jacks to them. TheTRS goes in the middle.
Hi, I just bought a new one evo8 today. I encountered two problems, which one is the serial number is invalid no matter how many times I enter. Another one is when I connect my SUHRE SM57 mic to the evo8 channel 1, even if I turned the channel one and output level to the loudest setting, can only hear a little sound, I don't know how to fix it.
Hello, if you haven't already. Please send a message to support@audient.com and our team can help you with the serial number registration. The SM57 is a low output mic so make sure you have it fairly close to the sound source, Also, ensure you are using an XLR to XLR cable as the TRS input is designed for line-level sources and will give you a lower signal level.
thanku soooooooooooooooo much brother,,,, love u & god blesssssssssssssss
I'm not able to use mic n.2 with Skype, Zoom, etc, Only mic n.1 works. I need to use 2 mics, one for live and other for recording vocals. Can you tell me how can I do?
Hi there, can you please contact support@audient.com and we'll help you out with this setup.
Hello, how do you connect a headset (with a mic) to the Evo8? Mine has a jack for audio and one for mic (hyper X alpha s headset)
You should just be able to connect the Headphone jack to the headphone output of the EVO and the Mic to one of the mic inputs. Please note that some headset mics will require a small back voltage to work so you may need an adaptor such as the RODE VLXR+ which converts 48V phantom power to the lower voltage needed for these mics.
SOLD! So goooood🖤
Can l record multiple instruments on EVO 8? Whats the model of the Macbook?
Yes, you can record up to 4 mono inputs at one time using the EVO. The Macbook being used was 16" 2019 model with an Intel i7 if I remember correctly.
I have the EVO 8 hooked with USB-C into a windows laptop. Today I picked up a Mac Mini to use for video editing. Any ideas how I can connect both the Mac & PC into the EVO to use for audio with either device?
We have used USB switcher boxes in the past to have a unit connected to two computers. You cannot use them both at the same time, but you would just press the switch on the Switcher box and the EVO 8 will connect to the other computer.
@@weareevoaudio I'll look into it, thanks. Don't need to use at same time, just while I'm on one or the other - have the option to use the EVO 8 - thanks
Can you guys make the volume Knobs midi mapable? It will be really really great.
Thank you for your suggestion, I can pass this onto our software team to look into, we cannot promise anything right now however!
Can this device be used for recording in 24 bit 48 kHz?
Yes, the EVO 8 supports up to 96kHZ 24-Bit recording
can you use 4 outputs at the same time?
Yes, you can use all 4 line outputs at the same time.
Connecting headphones will mute the outputs, for example connecting headphones to HP out 1 will mute Line outputs 1+2 or connecting to HP out 2 will mute Line outputs 3+4.
Hi I would like to know if i can connect my guitar and my Korg X5D Synth at the same time. Also is it compatible with an iMac.
You certainly can. You can connect the Guitar to the instrument input on the front and the Korg to Inputs 2,3 or 4 on the rear.
EVO 8 will work great with an iMac as well!
Great product guys. Thanks for vid.
Hi Audient Team, just fell in love with this product. I have 2 doubts before buying it. I want to use it with Traktor to DJ. I love the idea of having 2 speakers outputs for : monitor + main speakers with their different volumes controlled from the main buttons at the top. Just wondering how to control the headphones volumes? Is it from the mixer software? Also would like to know if its compatible with both USB tradictional and USBC? Thanks
Plugging a set of headphones in will mute the speaker output for that output (HP1 mutes Outputs 1+2, HP2 mutes Outputs 3+4). The level control for that output will then control the headphones instead.
The EVO 8 will work on a USB-A port as well as a USB-C but you will only be able to use 2 channels of phantom power on the inputs at one time.
@@weareevoaudio OMG! Then I cant use this soundcard for djing, its a very sad news! Are you gonna create a line for djs? the products looks awesome!
We can't unfortunately discuss potential future projects, however we're glad you'd be interested in such an idea!
How to connect midi !? 🤔
EVO 8 doesn't handle MIDI, if you have a MIDI device that doesn't use USB, then a standalone MIDI interface can be picked up easily to handle any 5 Pin DIN MIDI connections.
Hi i do like this interface, I just bought it but is there any way you can use headphones and monitors at the same time? I mean sometimes when recording you want to hear it through headphones and then you wanna go to monitors, but in that case i would have to disconnect the headphones to get the monitors to work because as this guy says it automatically mutes them. hope to hear from you guys soon, thanks
On the EVO 8, you can connect the Monitors to outputs 1+2 and the headphones to Headphone output 2 and they will work at the same time.
@@weareevoaudio haha so simple, thanks for your help really appreciate it
When I download the EVO8 Drivers I don't get all the options in Windows you show. I get the EVO 8 showing as the Speakers but I get USB microphone which is on my web cam showing as the Input device any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, please? Also I don't the get options shown when I right click the EVO Icon in the bottom tray.
Hello there,
If you're having issue can you get in touch at support@evo.audio and we'll be happy to help!
How to connect about ipad pro 3 generation? I know evo8 has no usb-a type port. Evo8 connect hub(c type), and hub connect ipad, then there is no power supply
Should i use hub or computer that have more than 2 c type port or if hub have usb-a type, could it possible to use usb-a to c??
You can simply use a USB-C to USB-A cable in this case which you can pickup easily online.
Hooked up all the cables. The mic works(the lights lit up when I speak). But I can't hear anything in the headphones. Please help.
You may just need to adjust the monitoring. To do this, open up the EVO mixer app and pull up the faders for the Mic 1-4 channels to hear this in your headphones.
Wat about midi connection like connecting the whammy with the soundcard through midi
EVO 8 doesn't support MIDI, for this we've recommend an external MIDI USB interface which are readily available very cheaply.
How can I use the 4 inputs with phantom power? pc
You would just need to ensure that the unit is connected to a USB-C port that can provide 5V/1.5A Bus power. If your PC doesn't have a USB-C port then you may need to use an external powered USB hub
I just bought the EVO 8 and nothing happens when I plug it in (no light up). Is this because I am on Big Sur? Is EVO 8 compatible with it?
EVO 8 is Big Sur Compatible and should light up once plugged into a USB port.
If you haven't already, could you try a different USB port/cable to rule out a bad USB connection. If you are using a USB hub/adaptor, can you instead try connecting it directly?
Hi Audient, I just buy EVO 8 and can't open the EVO apps because the firmware always failed to update. Currently I'm using Macbook Pro M1 2020
Sorry to hear you're having issues with the firmware, if you haven't already, send a message to support@audient.com and our team will get you up and running!
Can i use this interface with Windows 11? I've just bought a new laptop
Yes, the EVO 8 is supported on Windows 11.
When I tried to register my Evo 8, I got the message 'Serial number' incorrect. I used the serial number at the bottom of the device. I can't get the Evo 8 to work with my Casio WK-225, but it works fine with the Casio Privia.
Can you ensure you enter the serial number exactly as it is shown, with the dashes? If you are still having issues, can you send us a message at support@audient.com including your serial number and EVO Pin number?
How to set direct monitoring in this interface ? if there is no direct monitoring then how to record in low latency ?i
You would simply use the included EVO mixer software to setup direct monitoring. You would just need to pull up the faders for the channels you wish to monitor and you can listen to them with almost zero latency.
hello, are the driver also for M1 mac?
Yes, the EVO 8 works with M1 Macs, thanks.
Can we connect this magic to Yamaha keyboard...?
It does depend on the Keyboard. The EVO 4 can take the analog audio outputs of the keyboard and feed this into your computer. The EVO 8 cannot handle MIDI data from the keyboard however so a separate MIDI interface may be needed if you require this.
unable to install the driver from the web. Always gets stuck at one place. What do i do
Can you get in touch with us at support@evo.audio with any error messages or problems you are seeing and we'll be able to assist you.
I downloaded it, connected it but I can’t open the mixer no matter what I try. Please help
If you go to the menu bar or system tray, you should see the iD icon and the "Show Mixer" option will be here. If it isn't can you check your USB connection and possibly try a different port?
@@weareevoaudio I'm using a MacBook, do you know where I can find that?
The Icon can be found in the top right-hand corner of your screen near the clock and wi-fi symbols. Its a small 'e' icon.
Hello there. My mic dont have power supply. I already activated the phantom power. Still nothing happen. I hope u can help me to fix this issue 😭
Ensure that you're using a XLR to XLR cable as the EVO won't supply phantom power to a 1/4" jack cable. If you're still having issues, drop us a message at support@evo.audio and we'll be happy to help!
Merci pour le tuto dune grande utilités
I have EVO4 and can not get sound out of it - just got protools Artist
Hello, can you please ensure that the EVO 4 is set as both the input and output device in the Pro Tools Playback Engine? The EVO 4 will also default to minimum volume so ensure that you tap the volume button (bottom right-hand corner) and then turn the control knob clockwise to increase the output volume to your speakers/headphones.
If you're still having setup problems, drop us a message at support@audient.com and we'll do our best to help!
does it work with new mac with apple m1 chip?
We hope to announce M1 support in the near future. Keep an eye on our social media for updates.
@@weareevoaudio so Evo 8 will work in future with M1 chip with firmware update?
Hi there, our iD series devices are now compatible with Big Sur (11.0) and Apple's new silicon chips.
@@weareevoaudio wat about Evo 8?
Hi there, we plan to release new drivers soon to allow our EVO devices to be compatible with Big Sur and M1 chips.
Looks so easy but did not work for me. Evo 8, latest OS X big sur, 2019 Macbook. Upon plugging in the Evo 8, asked to update firmware. Firmware fails, asked the 'power cycle the evo 8' but no details on how. Software doesn't open, also see no where to manually download the firmware file. Needs better documentation (ie: how to power cycle). Tried reinstalling, same result.
Hi there - please contact support@audient.com - they'll be able to help you out. Thanks.
so on my computer the evo is not recognized as neither an input nor output device, nor does the mixer open (it just stays latent in the hidden icons panel). Pretty disappointing, but it might be my laptop specifically
This sounds like a USB connection issue so can you please try a different port or a different cable. If you are using a USB hub or adaptor, please try connecting the unit directly instead.
@@weareevoaudio i already tried two, one usb-c one usb-a. I’ll try the last one also. Atleast it works perfectly on my mom’s laptop.
That is a little strange. If you haven't already, can you please send us a message at support@audient.com so our team can assist you!
Does it works with M1 Macs?
Yes, EVO 8 is supported on M1 Macs 👍
no driver for Linux systems?
Unfortunately, we don't have any drivers that support the Linux operating system as we haven't done any official testing on this system.
emailed support and have yet to get a response, The evo 8 isnt showing up on my pc even after downloading the software, Ive seen certain places I need firmware but its not even showing that on the evo software. My evo 8 is currently a useless piece of plastic thanks to these horrible drivers! Using Win64 and ableton but is showing in my pc devices just saying drivers not available.
Hello, I've just checked our support system and can see one of our agents has replied to your ticket. Can you please check your Spam folder in case our reply was incorrectly filtered.
I can’t find that app in the app store
The EVO software for macOS and PC is available here: evo.audio/products/evo-8/downloads/
EVO 8 isn't compatible with iOS and there is no EVO mixer for iOS I'm afraid.
How to connect with midi
EVO 8 will only handle your Audio. If you have devices which have 5 Pin MIDI connections then you may need to use a separate USB MIDI interface.
The USB is not compatible with Macbook air! Using an adaptor is a wrong idea when using an audio interface :( soooo disappointed!!
If you're Mac doesn't have a USB-C port then you can use an adaptor, a USB hub or just a standard USB-C to USB A without a problem!
So no iPad Pro compatibility? That’s what I’ve been told my numerous people. That doesn’t help a lot of people.
There is no official compatibility with iOS for teh EVO 8, only the EVO 4.
While the EVO 8 can be connected to an iOS device and should pass audio as it is class compliant, you would use a lot of functionality as there is no access to the EVO mixer software on iOS, hence why there is no current official support.
:)
