    The MOST valuable thing about the EVO 8 mixer software (which is free with the EVO 8, is that once I do the Mic Preamp Auto-Gain, and set everything just right, I CAN SAVE THE SETTINGS AND GIVE IT A NAME, like My Vocals or whatever. Next time I plug everything back in the way I had it (I usually use my Mackie ProFX6V3 mixer and only use the EVO 8 to record), I go to the Settings, and activate the preset, and presto, everything is set like I had it! I just love that feature!
    And oh, I love the LOOPBACK feature. Yesterday I recorded vocals using Audio from my Windows 10 computer. I set the Audio out on the computer to Loopback 1-2, but set the Audio out on the EVO 8 mixer to Main Out 1-2. I was able to sing along with the audio backing, karaoke style, with no latency! Super! And another thing I like about the EVO 8, is that it happily accepts CELL PHONE OR TABLET signals (which I set to a stereo mix in inputs 3-4) which I could not do on a MOTU M4 as that thing will NOT accept cell phone signals, only LINE LEVEL signals from a mixer or whatever. The Auto Gain is what takes care of that.

    I have a suggestion for a possible system update.
    There should be a possibility of Mixing each Output as a independent channel.
    Not only a summing of the channels 1+2, or 3+4. But also having separate mono outputs. As CH1, CH2, CH3 & CH4, and let the DAW have absolute control of the Output routing.
    If there’s already this function, please let me know!

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  8 місяців тому +1

      You can sort of already do this. You'd just need to turn on the Artist mix. Then in the Main MIx pull up the MAC/PC 1+2 faders and on the Artist Mix pull up the Mac/PC 3+4 faders. Ensure they are panned hard left and hard right. You can then turn up the volume for both sets of outputs.
      Now output 1 in the DAW will go to the physical output 1, DAW output 2 to physical output 2, and so on. You can then just use your DAW to route the audio to the 4 different channels as needed.

    Thanks this was really helpful. Quick question. If the levels on the Mac 1 &2 outputs are sometimes in the red, is that still okay? I’m assuming that the only time you have to worry about levels clipping is on the inputs. Am I right? Sorry if this is a silly question I’m just learning how to set things up.

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  Рік тому +1

      It's not a silly question! Going into the red the Mac 1+2 channels isn't the end of the world and won't affect your mixes or recordings since it's only on the monitoring path. However, it will mean you are hearing distortion on your playback so it is good practise to keep the levels below clipping on your outputs so you are getting clear and accurate monitoring.

    • @hadarahbatyah
      @hadarahbatyah Рік тому

      @@Audientworld Okay good news thanks so much for responding! I wasn't able to hear any distortion on the playback through the Mac either - possibly it was just my ear tho. Really appreciate the help :) You guys are great.

    • @Audientworld

      Yes, to directly the monitor your inputs without any latency, you'd open the iD Control software and pull up the faders for the Mic 1-4 channels, this will then send the audio directly from the inputs to the outputs for monitoring.

    • @Audientworld

      Yes, this can be done by enabling the Artist Mix. Then on the Artist Mix faders, pull up the DAW 3+4 faders. Then turn up both outputs to Max. All 4 outputs can then be used as individual outputs to feed a desk.

    The EVO 4 has a hardware monitor mix button. But I cannot find this control on the EVO 8! So does that mean the EVO 4 is better than the 8 for use as a standalone stereo preamp/mixer (without a computer. or to record to a mobile device)? Apparently there is no hardware button to activate headphone jack monitoring on the EVO 8! Help!

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  2 роки тому +1

      Because of the additional inputs and outputs on the EVO 8, the routing is done through software rather than through the hardware. The EVO 4 is better suited to being used standalone because of this

      There is no artist mix on the EVO 4 as the headphone and monitor outputs are fed the same signal so its impossible to have a separate artist mix. The EVO 8 would be the better choice if this is important to your workflow.

      Enable Artist Mix in Evo app and then you can control what goes in output 1+2 and output 3+4 separately(clicking on outputs 3+4 on the right side will switch you to the 3+4 mixer.)

    Hello folks
    I bought Evo 8 but it's not functioning as required. All 4 Outputs are behaving same. It does not have separate Outputs 🙁.
    For example, while my live performances I play keys and Synth bass from different midi controller's at the same time, Now what I need is to send only my Synth bass solo out to output 3 (or 3-4) but it's not going separately it's going along with the mix 1-2 in out 3-4 . 😢
    So the conclusion is it does not provide you 4 separate out, but only provides stereo out on 1-2 & same stereo out of 1-2 along with some added instruments or click only.
    I'm feeling helpless, I only bought Evo 8 to send separate out but it's not functioning as required.
    I'll appreciate if some one proves me wrong.
    Help me please 🙏

    • @Audientworld
      @Audientworld  10 місяців тому +1

      Hello there,
      In this case, you'd just need to enable "Artist Mode" in the Setup menu of the EVO mixer software.
      You can then click on outputs 3+4 and create a secondary mix for outputs 3+4. For your example, for outputs 3+4 you'd want to have only the fader for the Mac/PC3+4 channel pulled up which would give you an entirely independent output from outputs 1+2.

      I was confused with the faders, So Evo Mixer has output 1+2 (Master mix) down the fader of Mac 3+4 and Output 3+4(Artist mix) down the fader of Mac 1+2 then we'll have entirely separate instrument out using EVO.

    I'm considering buying an EVO 8. I use Windows 10 OS. I also use a speaker system which puts out too much high-mids. Using Realtek HD Audio speaker outputs, I go into Windows 10 Sounds> Playback> Speakers> Properties> Enhancements> Equalizer, and I have a 10-band graphic equalizer on the outputs that I can mildly tweak to solve my high-mids problem. If I were using the EVO 8 for audio output rather than the Realtek HD Audio, would I be able to go into Sounds> Playback> EVO 8 outputs 1+2> Properties> Enhancements, and there would be an equalizer offered as an enhancement?
