I always put heat shrink tubing on my Apple cables just after the plastic housing meets the cable where it always frays. It’s not pretty but it makes it very durable…I’ve closed my car door on it more than a few times and it’s still going strong.

The only issue I have with Apple cables is the discoloration. I never have any other issues, but when I lose a cable (I misplace stuff a lot), I just buy an MFI certified one because they are cheaper.
Usually my cables just give up and the one I am using is already starting to fail, I’ve gone through atleast 10 chargers and have bought 2 5 packs over the past 2 or 3 years, I will definitely be getting one of these, thank you!

OMG... my cable is split right at the joint of the plug. I used a heat shrink tubing to save it a couple of years ago but it now split further up, at the end of the heat shrink. Im NOT heat shrinking the whole cable! LOL.. Thanks for this video. I will be getting one...even though this video is old...3 years since last comment... Oh well.. seems the way to go and our ipad is a dinosaur. I think the new ones are USB C to USB C now. I may be wrong!??
I use my lightning cable I got for my iPhone 5S every day. It is the thin wire design. It is not torn, it does not have any discoloration, it just works for years. I also got a newer cable, that will outlive the 5S one, because it seems to be more durable.
Definitely going to ask my mom for this I use the charger for my iPad and I do the same thing every night like you but just watch videos and some what playing games but thank you for the recommendation for it! I will be trying to in the future
Yeah it’s been about 6 months since i’ve owned my iphone 11, and the charger is already showing issues, i have to fidget around with the cable itself to get it actually charging, the cable is not physically damaged but it’s very annoying trying to charge my phone when i have to fidget around with everything

As far as speed is concerned, one can chose the fast ones, but for durability of the battery it is better to use a slow charging adapter. But, as I said, soon an extensive video about this important issue
Hi, the cable will not influence the speed of the charge, only the actual power brick does (5, 10, 20 or even 40 Watt). The higher the Watt, the faster the charging (which is not good for battery longevity) and also depends if your device allows fast charging

Hi, there is no difference. The marketing can at times be a bit misleading, but as long as the cable is video certified, performance will be the same across the board. I personally have strong preference for graded cables as they last much longer

If you use multiple ports at a time on your USB port the wattage will split amongst them, giving you half of whatever watts it has depending on how many are plugged in at once. If you plug it into a 35w charger brick it would charge much faster, but only as fast as the device itself can regulate. If your device can't accept anything higher than 20 watts it'd be useless to buy a higher watt charger unless you plan on using more outlets on it (that is if it has more than one USB plug already) if not you'd need a phone that has that wattage or it's a waste.

Hi, I do not know if there is a different in inside quality of the cables. I stand with my conclusion that these cables are an excellent (and better) replacement for those of Apple. I do not think that the cold would impact the quality. A charger might be affected, but not the cable, I assume.
Not sure about the life time warranty my friend got 1 the exact same but it broke after a year and contacted amazon and they reused to honor the life time warranty not sure anyone else have a different experience.

Hi Nero, unless it is really a very very shady cable, the cause of this decline is more likely to be related to the way how you use the phone or to the way how you charge it. Best is during night, slowly, at a low Wattage.
The best cables imo are the braided ones from 7-11. I am brutal with cables and they are the only ones that last. Genuine Apple cables are really good to but you can be fooled buying “genuine” Apple cables online there are a lot of counterfeits they are some junk cable in an Apple box. I bought a bunch of the counterfeits on ebay because they said genuine and when I got them the boxes looked legit but when you look at the usb side of cables you can tell they were fake by the shape

Hi, in a way you are correct as for the Apple machinery 100’s of factories are used all over the world (many of them in China) where Apple components are being produced according to the strict Apple criteria. Looking at it from this angle all Apple products are being outsourced.
He Delarius, I tend to disagree on this one. Original Apple products are in general what you can call the best (at a high price), but the original, non graded cables, can show serious shortcomings and have a short life span.
The Lightening cable is trash, they are the first thing that breaks along with the charging port, meanwhile I have had no issues with the 10+ Android phones and their charging ports. With Android any cable will work but with IPhone they put in some protection to check if the cable is authentic. Instead of using algorithms to check the authenticity of their stupid cables Apple should invest in making their cables work properly!!! This is why I have no time for Apple and their garbage.
