I've heard that some MFI cables can't be trusted either.... But that puts me in the situation of paying $20 for a genuine Apple cable that's 3ft, or pick up an Anker cable for nearly half the cost of an Apple cable.
3 cables for nearly half the cost.... and just to share, all my (3) cables are still working perfectly. Hope that helps. Anker is a quality company w/ quality product. 👍
I have this intermittent problem where Apple Play drops out when displaying Google Maps or Mapy on the car console, the app is irrelevant. At the moment I updated to IOS 18 and the problem didn’t come back. I hope the IOS 18 upgrade fixed it. Otherwise I might seek out the MFI cable, there is a Belkin version too. The phone displays the map for a couple of hours and then I lose the cable connection. I thought the iphone was overheating and then I got a clip that attaches to the A/C vent. But cooling the phone didn’t fix the problem. The cable looks good but it’s a few years old and damaged cable is not always obvious.
Thank you for spotlighting Anker products and the significance of the mfi certification. I had occasion to purchase an Anker selfie stick for a recent solo trip to Algeria and was very impressed with its performance. As for "Mfi" certification, I just bought an iphone se and didn't realize it had no headphones port until I received it. Searching for an adapter has been migraine inducing. Anker to the rescue again. (Really just wanted to find out whether non mfi cables would damage my phone or something.) Thanks for your video's brevity.
Hm... MFI certification typically isn't branded on their wires... (or at least, they aren't on mine) Best bet would be to reach out to Anker and double check with them about the specific cable and verify.
Are there any MFI cables that can also auto disconnect from charging to prevent overcharging like Apple iphone chargers can do with the chip in every iphone charger they have? I know McDodo and a few other cables are able to auto disconnect, but I never see any of them with a MFI certification or it's not clearly visible
Hm... i am not sure,.. I figured overcharging would be stopped via the unit being changed and not from the cable. I'll have to look into this. Thanks. 👍
@@TomDeCicco I was surprised too when my coworker told me that Apple cables are expansive not only because of the name tag, but also because they have a chip in the lightning plug side that does the auto disconnect. McDodo has many auto disconnect cables with their own chip. However, they are not MFI certified and are also from China. And a chip from China uncertified by Apple connected to your phone could be an issue.
I recently bought a Apple charger and it didn’t have the badge on the packaging about mfi but I put the brand on the mfi certified page that Apple made and it popped up so idk if that’s a sign or not that it’s fake
Great video and thanks for that info! Who knew! I love Anker products, they are wonderful. Although, I’m so confused on which wall chargers are to be used for which apple products and then which Anker cables are best to use. Prob over thinking everything, I’m just nervous about fires from using those cheap cables. Keep up the great work!
Generally speaking, these cables would be used with a 5w charging brick. Those are the bricks that used to come with iPhones now... at this time, its worth looking into 20w bricks and applicable cables. They are considered "fast chargers"... here's another video i did ft. more Anker stuff. (To be honest, the cables and brick in this video are the only ones i use now.) Hope that helps! ua-cam.com/video/GW3p-X2EtfE/v-deo.html
Anker doesn’t show up on the Apple MFI certified company list so please explain this. How is someone supposed to verify genuine certification as there is bound to be fake MFI labelling.

Tom DeCicco that is true, I have always trusted Anker
Are adapters also mfi certified..will it harm my iphone in any way? I am thinking to go for it.

I'm glad it provided you some value. :)
MY friend is making an MFI adapter so all type of cable will work and will be available in the market soon
Send link it’s almost 2 years
Bought 3 changers on Amazon for 12 dollars, they work perfectly. Mfi certified.
Would this work on an iPad seventh generation?
What if i bought an original Anker charger but it doesn’t have the mfi logo on it?

No help. I need to know if it’s the same as the apple stufff
It would help seeing you run the cables on a charge test
Thanks for the information. Can we use MFI fast charger for airpords?
yes

Finally someone who doesnt fake being english,
It’s sad cause two of my anker cables broke from the usb side of the cable...
That is sad. :(

Do any of yours give you that annoying message “this accessory does not support this device” now? Or are they still holding up?
They are still holding up. No MFI errors yet. 🤞
Tom DeCicco thank you!

I just selected brand, typed Anker and saw a load of products. Also in the U.K. at least Anker is sold on the apple store too
But how is it working?
Everyone os them still work great. 👍
