Great review, as always! Anker 735 rocks in my personal use. I’ve been traveling for 8 months and this unit consistently charges my MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone so fast that I don’t even worry about charging anymore. I connect a device and in under 30 minutes I’ve got enough juice to use it for a few hours. No-brainer buy!
I believe the reason for the design difference in the Anker plug is due to the taller (older) version having a tendency to fall out of a vertical wall outlet…especially in a frequently used/ worn outlet(e.g., hotel room) This is because the older version of the plug is top heavy. The shorter/stubby (new) version shouldn’t have that problem. However, this newer version will take up more space on most power strips and may not fit as easily into an office desk power supply (e.g., the type built into the top of a lot of corporate conference room desks).
The Voltme 65W is not safety listed. A CE mark is self-declared and thus worthless. Chargers have been known to electrocute people by allowing high voltage to pass through to the low voltage side. Most chargers under 100W don't have power factor correction and are inefficient. For low power chargers it's not a big deal but at 65W its wasteful. Some chargers do not meet USB PD voltage specifications, excessively sag under load, or have significant ripple. Some chargers will overheat and throttle. Is all of this being tested?
I know videos can’t be infinitely long, but one thing I care about more than anything is footprint. I’m usually in situations where speed of charging doesn’t matter a ton. On the other hand, I frequently find myself short of outlets. Finding a charger that takes up exactly one outlet is tougher than you might think! So many of them encroach on the outlets around them. Great video!
I have one of their 65w chargers that looks like the more rectangular anker one in this video and it's been serving me great. I use it to charge my steam deck but sometimes I charge that and my phone at the same time and it works great
Plz dont stop making content. I literally buy whatever u recommend. I buy my cases, chargers, and screen protectors solely based on ur top pick. Ur a legend man ❤
0:58 - For the products with indicator lights, I would’ve loved to have seen tests on how those indicator lights affect the ambient light level in a fully dark room? My thinking here is that sometimes product LEDs might look okay during the daytime-but come nighttime when you’re trying to sleep, they end up illuminating half the room.
I’m using the Anker 313 charger 45W and so far I love it. It’s small, doesn’t get hot and I think it’s perfect balance between too much wattage and too little.
I agree with someone else’s comment… “better watch it, might need it later.” Often I buy stuff because it’s on sale, current one is getting old or need more functionality. It’s so frustrating when I get it and it doesn’t do what I need or it’s just a piece of crap. So I watch your videos, when the time comes I know if I should buy it and if it’s a good product. Thank you for your unbiased reviews!
Have the old version of the Anker for a couple of years. Very happy with it. Combined with a 10 foot C to C cable , it is compact for travel with a good reach to an outlet when I need that. Much preferable to the large and awkward charger that came with my laptop.
If you struggle with pulling that Anker charger out from the socket I would recommend that you do some strength training if everything checks out well after a health check.
Thanks a lot. Especially when it comes to compact multichargers, some of us are traveling worldwide (you know, Digital Nomads), so a test of fitting compact socket adapters for worldwide travel for your multicharger would be great.
Curious to ask, is it better to 1. to use one charger like 735 and then add a plug changer (like changing British to America) to the local charger requirement 2. or is it better to just buy one that has multiple plugs version like the anker powerport 3 3. or those big ass square like chargers that can in and out different versions?
@@wilsonlamlyt7138 Personally, so far I travel with Apple‘s Dual Charger, as only Apple‘s chargers have a solid system with interchangeable wall plug types, which is just much more convenient to use within a country, instead of adding some wobbly lengthy clunky adapter to your charger, that often won‘t attach properly to the wall. I would love to see a solution with a powerful charger and several outlets, that has an interchangeable system of plugs like Apple does, though.
Thank you for your review! Used your link to purchase the #1 Anker charger. Previously I had (Anker Model A2039 47W USB C Charger (Nano 3), 2 Port Compact Foldable GaN Fast Charger) However it stopped working just short of 1 year (November 5th). My intention was to not buy Anker again and try a different brand. Amazon sure seems to be pushing Anker brand hard when you search for chargers. But we will give it another shot!
So glad I got the Anker 735 charger. One of the reasons I got it though was that it was one of the few UK style charger which had foldable prongs which is common on US style plugs but not others. The performance has been very good as well.
I have the old #1 version of the Anker. Great to know and see that they have updated it with a second version! Would love to get that new edition one for travel in my tech kit.
I love your “best” videos, because it’s always stuff that as a techie I’m sure n the lookout for. Unfortunately these videos always come out about a month or two after I’ve made my purchases 😂
right now the spigen 65w(PE2204UJ ) is $1 more than the 45w thank you for including the model item #. much easier to find them that way to make sure we get the EXACT one
7.40 it doesn't matter how big the heat sink is, the heat still has to be dissipated through the case. So, if it's running cooler it's because it working more efficiently and not making unnecessary heat. None-the-less a great review, thank you
Agreed on the Anker GAN charger as the top performer for now. I have the EU option and like how the plug ends flip on the side to take up less space when travelling. I use it often to charge my laptop, phone and something else simultaneously. Though the performance depends on the charging cable as much as the charger itself.
Excellent video, looking for your next review in the 100-300w range. 67W is not a good choice, it's usually coming with multiple port, but it's inefficient when you charge macbook and ipad/iphone together. Something more powerful, 100w or 150w will be more useful.
I think the Anker is a little bit on the pricey side, any 65w charger that supports most of the fast charging protocols will just get the same job done. Thanks for all the testing, these are really good chargers. BTW, AOHI is pronounced as "au-hai" according to it's Chinese name "奧海" if someone is curious about it.
I have both versions of the Anker charger. I bought the old one via Costco for full price. Then a few months later, they had the new version plus an extra solo charger for less than I paid for the old one by itself. I bought it just because I couldn’t believe the price drop.
I like the dual port charger from nomad, the one called slim specifically. The flat profile is the best for use in narrow places and for travel. Pair that with mophie/zag’s magsafe 3 in 1 travel wireless charger and you will only need to cables.
I look forward to your review of >100W multi-port chargers. I’m interested in your review of Anker 747 150W C$100 vs. Minix 140w C$90. When travelling, I need to simultaneously charge a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and Apple Watch. ( I charge my AirPods through the MacBook.)
I found the Anker 3 port for $40 at Target. But i was looking for the newest Otterbox 67 watt 3 port. Thought it was too new to find it in a store. But only 1 left at a Verizon store and it was $65. Thing is this brick is big but the plug is sideways so doesnt block outlets. Figures i found out Dewalt has a 65 watt 3 port thats new and more what i needed. Smaller and runs far cooler according to those who have it. Although i get lots of attention with the Otterbox.
I'd really like to see a video like this one on the 100W+ multiports for laptops and then some. Especially laptops like my XPS 13, its super picky on what USB-C chargers it'll ACTUALLY charge on :(
Have the old anker charger and got it to charge my drone stuff and works great. Now I use it for my 3 in 1 charger and the second port is a incase of emergency cable for charging my phone.
FYI collapsible prongs are NOT always a good thing. I just had an Otterbox 20w/30w charger crap out on me … after pretty minimal use (left in one outlet for a year or more, the prongs didn't appear connected (rolling as one). Looking at it to see what was wrong, one prong FELL OUT. Yes, fell out. It appears the metal prong was only held in by some plastic hub, and without that intact, the prong literally just came out like a child's baby tooth. Glad I didn't have that happen while it was plugged into an outlet! I may try that Belkin but dang Anker has never let me down. Chargers and cables have all been solid for me.
really enjoying your content these days. I plan to go for a trip in august that will last a few weeks so I wanted to be prepared and a charger was one of the things in my list. Wanted something that can charge multiple things but isn't a massive brick XD. I do like the Spigen ArcStation which I may get if I need a second charger since the Pine64 Pinepower 65W is actually similar to your top contenders at around 25$
Love your videos like these, would love them even more if you had excel files with all the results of the comparisons for those of us looking for a bit more info.
How did the Champion goes? As Swede wanna buy, u know! I bougt a 2 meters apple usb-c and champion laddare 45w gan qc/pd, to my new Iphone and have that put for wireless charging now :) Best regards from Sweden!
I wanted to charge laptop and smartphone on the go and took the bigger anker charger with 100W. A little bit expensive, but not that much bigger and still very travelabel. There is a very similar model from ugreen. If you want to go over 100W, the chargers get quite big for mobile purposes.
there is the old anker 735 GaN prime A2668 model (the one that was #1 in the best iphone 15 accessories video), and then there's the Nano II 735 model number A2667. Now I'm wonder where the former would rank in this video, since it seems the latter is the one that is used for reference here
Excellent! Great video. Anker wins again .... I am probably going to get their Qii2 Charger. Have you tried the 1-world travel chargers. They have all the same charging credentials, but they are also travel chargers so let you plug something into them. It would be good to see you review those also. There are several out there in addition to 1-world so there are enough for you to get your teeth into if you were so minded. What do you think? Also - do even recommend them as travel chargers or do you recommend these instead?
I bought your #1 Anker. Plugged my iPad in overnight with a 3’ Apple cord and did not charge. I also have a 10’ Anker USB to USB-C and it seams to charge very slow when it’s the only thing being charged. I think I may have a bad one, BUT does length of cords affect charging?
What about 30w ones? Don't really need higher than that. I was thinking to get one for the new ipad pro 11" but not sure if it matters that much. And I know the ipad is limited to 31w so I don't see a point if higher than that. I also only plan to use it for the ipad, so it doesn't need to have more ports. And would love if it was small for the surge protector to not have too much space taken up when plugged (ie blocking other ports I want to use) But idk what to get.
Any idea if the UGREEN Nexode 2 Port GaN Foldable 45W with two ports is any decent? Been using it for phones and MacBook airs no problems, just wondering how it would compare to the #2 Spigen since they’re like same specs. Thanks!
I’m using it for almost a year now (the EU version). I’m pretty pleased with the speed, it doesn’t get too hot, very robust feeling/materials/building quality. Of course the charging speeds are great as promised by 45W (or 25W & 20W when both type-c ports used).
I like mycharger because of its built-in cable for my lightning devices and the other for my usbc. Not small very heavy, not what you're reviewing. But it also is a powerbank. hey! Tell monty, Hey!
I dont need this right now. But the way you present something makes me think "better watch it, might need this later" 😂

I got the Anker Model number "A2667", which i think is the old version. And it came with a rubber suction cup socket holder. That was VERY nice.

When traveling a 6" pigtail is indispensable.
Anker makes a single USB-C 30w that only takes up one outlet slot.
It’s impossible to test every brand. I’m curious how ugreen chargers stackup tho
I have one of their 65w chargers that looks like the more rectangular anker one in this video and it's been serving me great. I use it to charge my steam deck but sometimes I charge that and my phone at the same time and it works great

Very good point. Manufacturers for some reason feel all their stuff need to have bright shining LEDs all the time.
I’m using the Anker 313 charger 45W and so far I love it. It’s small, doesn’t get hot and I think it’s perfect balance between too much wattage and too little.
Your dog is such a good boy!
This channel is a breathe of fresh air. Thank you, you gave me precisely the information I needed.
You are the UA-cam tester I trust the most. Could you please test and show the best 3in1 charging stands with Qi2/magsafe? THANKS!

Bought the Anker 735 during Prime Day after watching your review. Definitely feels solid and performing well. Thanks!
Would love to see the overall rankings of all the chargers you reviewed. Would like to see where the one I have stacks up.
If you struggle with pulling that Anker charger out from the socket I would recommend that you do some strength training if everything checks out well after a health check.
aohi is the best charger i’ve used ever! the 67W the single type c one truly shows off and barley gets hot.
great overview and quick run through. this has earned you a subscription!
Thanks a lot.

Today I ordered my Anker 735 charger based on your review. Thanks bro for helping me out 😁
Agree with your #1 ranking. But the older 65w version is $20 cheaper at the moment.

It took me way too long to notice the dog but once I did I couldn't look away. Who wants belly rubs?
Now a video on car cig plug ones
Bro you are looking YAKKED thanks for the inspo 🤘

It'd be great to have one these videos for multi port car charger
I was a day late to this review(s), but I really needed this information for future. Great job! I will use you in the future!
I'm so fascinated by how well behaved your dog is :D
Monty is the true MVP
Best tech reviewer out there! Always look at your reviews before anyone else, great videos!
When are the Qi2 multi charger reviews coming up?
Europe have far superior socket design but I'm jealous of foldable chargers
Absolute top quality and straight to the point. Love love love it. Using your affiliate link. Thanks.
Finally a reviewerrrrrrrrrrr... thanks for your content!!!!
Definitely should test Ugreen?
I love your spirit and Monte is love incarnate!!!

dude anker is so good never had problems with them
I appreciate the video. I can finally make an informed decision on which charger to get out of hundreds offered on Amazon.
Love your videos. Would love to see one on gan travel adapters
I found the Anker 3 port for $40 at Target. But i was looking for the newest Otterbox 67 watt 3 port. Thought it was too new to find it in a store. But only 1 left at a Verizon store and it was $65. Thanks for the reviews, I'm hoping that the Anker is available in the UK. Great dog too!!
GravaStar 65 is the coolest and best!
And does cable matter? Love your reviews by the way!!

Can you do another video on Magsafe battery packs since new ones came out?
Your video showed me the 67W charger. Amazon showed me the 100W charger... let's hope it is similar in best multiport charger.

Sweet. Confirmed my Anker purchases were justified.
Love your videos like these, would love them even more if you had excel files with all the results of the comparisons for those of us looking for a bit more info.
Great video! Does the no 1 charger charger support PPS?
What about stand-by power consumption and efficiency? Over the time of use that adds to the cost….
How did the Champion goes? As Swede wanna buy, u know! I bougt a 2 meters apple usb-c and champion laddare 45w gan qc/pd, to my new Iphone and have that put for wireless charging now :) Best regards from Sweden!

i have used 735 charger for long time. It heats up the device so much. Tried in mac, 15 pm and ipad pro too
I wanted to charge laptop and smartphone on the go and took the bigger anker charger with 100W. A little bit expensive, but not that much bigger and still very travelabel. There is a very similar model from ugreen. If you want to go over 100W, the chargers get quite big for mobile purposes.

u wanna compare cheap, lightweight portable battery packs? the nitecore looks dope and smaller brands like baseus and inio might be better than anker

Hi, what is the UK equivalent of the "Anker 735 GaN Prime 67W Charger (A2669) "
It would be nice to have more info on charging standards like PD vs IQ+. I have a camera battery charger that doesn’t function on IQ+ for some reason.
to me the best is only from ugreen, i got the 65w, 120w and 100w, heavy, lukewarm, safe, at a reasonable price tag.
what was the fastest solo charge?
Could you do a comparison for higher wattage adapters 150-200w with 4-6 ports?
how about Ugreen products ? haven't u tested any? or they are too bad to make it to the top 5 ??
Do video on 140watt charging
I like mycharger because of its built-in cable for my lightning devices and the other for my usbc. Not small very heavy, not what you're reviewing. But it also is a powerbank. hey! Tell monty, Hey!
Nomad 65W Slim is expensive, but travels better than everything on this list due to it's size and dimensions. It's the king for now.
While using a single device won't the 45w damage the iPhone 15?
That dog is all business!
I was going to see what’s the best one but turns out I already have the #1 😊
Use any atx power supply for the insane power. to interface pcb for voltage sync and voila, maximum performance, cheap.
Would you recommend the minix neo p3? It’s a4 port 100w charger that seems to do it all compared to these 🤔
Doesn’t the iPads receive at fastest 29 watts? So 45w and 18w doesn’t seem like a limiting factor.
The dogeee is coolest part
