  • I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called psoriatic arthritis in April 2023 and have been taking methotrexate since May 2023. 2 months ago I had my first humira/adalimumab injection and have now taken 5 shots in total. The methotrxate has helped a bit but I'm hoping with the new medication I'll go into remission and I wanted to document my experience from the start, giving 2 week updates to help other understand what to expect.
    As always if you have any thoughts or questions please leave in the comments
    Peace and Love
    Welcome to my channel Lifting out of the Lows where I share and document my experience with mental health, depression and bipolar cyclothymia and also psoriatic arthritis. I hope from sharing these videos and my experiences I'm able to help people along their own journey and make it somewhat easier (if that's possible) as I talk about things such as:
    * How to stop feeling depressed
    * My experience with mental health
    * How to stop feeling anxious
    * How to improve your mental health
    * My journey through life
    * How to take action
    * How to be happier in life
    * How to build a strong mind
    * How to deal with the challenges life throws at you
    I haven't got it all figured out, far from it. We're all on a journey that one never stops learning from but by creating these videos my aim is to help people and start more of a conversation around mental health. If you like the videos like, share and all the rest as the louder the message I'm sure the more people will benefit

    I have had a very similar journey as you. Thanks for sharing. I started moving to a vegan-ish diet to come off all pain meds. Might be something to consider. 😊

    Thank you so much for sharing your story. I just took my second injection a couple days ago for Myositis. I am sadly building up for a flare episode and begun to doubt. You’ve given me hope tonight. When you said “life changing” I welled up even. I now feel better about the waiting game before me. Thank you again and best wishes to you, sending respect and love from Texas.

    I love your videos. So authentic and genuine. My son has been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis and is following a very similar medication journey. Prednisone and Methotrexate for now. Just taken his second dose of methotrexate. He is a very physical kid, loves football and running and for now that has been taken away from him. Seeing your progress gives us hope.

      Thanks for the comment Michael, it means a lot. I’m sorry to hear about your son, I hope he finds resolve. I’m sure he will, hopefully sooner rather than later.
      Even though I know it doesn’t make the situation better the mental resilience he will build up from the struggle will be life long and allow him to fortify my mind. That was the positive I tried to take from it all
      I wish you and your family well

    I’ve had 3 Humira injections for my RA and it has been remarkable! I had swelling and pain in my hands, knees, shoulders and elbows. I feel almost normal again !

    Do you ever do Fasting? What are your views on it for lowering inflammation while taking medication, I am currently still on methotrexate and feeling better but still have sore hands so after I see Dr in May, might see what options are available to take with it or trying new medication.

      I’ve done fasting and I think it helps inflammation a bit but for me not enough to reduce the pain and swelling to a level where I can function normally. That’s why I opted for the medication. There’s lot of small things which help a tiny bit such as fasting, small diet changes but the help is minimal, at least for me anyway

      Yes good anti oxidant and my recent liver blood results are pristine and I’m taking the same stuff you take. So I think it’s worth a look. I take 500mg a day. Ask your doc. 🤗
