Not a marketing guy, not a spokesman, not a pre sanitised official statement.... The CEO himself made it right. He stuttered and bumbled, not reading from a script, just absolute honesty. He showed that they value their customers and quality far more than many.
This is my grail knife. I know it's weird for a female to want one but ever since I saw it I had to have it. I have several knives including Cold Steel. Sadly I'll never be able to afford the XII but I'll always want to at least. Awesome knives guys!

I very very lightly used the 6 inch version to open the packaging my carhart jacket came in. It grazed my jacket and left a perfect cut. It's a razor the size of a sword lol

I have tested the scratch pattern on many Cold Steel factory blades and they matched up approx to the 15 microns scratch pattern. I take them down to a minimum of 3 microns or less. That's one of the dumbest comments I've ever read. Just about every one of the guys who test these weapons are martial arts experts without weapons. And I have about 90 weapons from Cold Steel, 45 are blades of one form or another. I've never seen another company test their products like this. I see other knives from other companies and I'm not impressed at all. They're WAY over priced and not nearly as durable or sharp.
But have to get it sharp first. mine came dull. let cold steel know but got no reply from them. Hit and miss with them on quality and customer service.
How about putting it through it's paces in a level 3/3A Kevlar vest or a ballistic helmet from the left/right/rear of it, using a water melon/pumpkin to substitute for a mans head..... also comparing it to the Jagd Commando Knife.

Especially against the Tanto Magnum Xll. Maybe you've never used one? The Cold Steel Kukri go right thru ribs just as easy piercing as any other blades and their piercing cut is as wide as an axe. I took Bando (Burmese martial arts, Ghurkas) and their blade specialty was the Kukri. That's why Lynn Thompson made the Ghurka Kukri under the "tutelage" of Grandmaster M Gyi. He was our instructor. It is definitely a piercing weapon. It cannot match the piercing of a stiletto thru incredible armor but it is close.

But over all I think the Kukri has unmatched potential if you know how to use it. The sweet spot on the Kukri is its greatest strength. It makes the deepest cuts for you with the least amount of effort. All blades cut but most blades need extra effort to sever limbs. The Kukri can sever even the thickest limbs effortlessly. They were used to cut from the upper shoulder, neck to the lower waist. That's a lot of bone and 80% of all inner critical life giving organs.

Never knew why cold steel was kinda spendy I used to buy $20 pocket knives, every knife I ever had broke or fell apart. Nothing but Cold Steel now after finally handling one and feeling where my money went.
Oh yeah, not only do they still exist.... They make some really good quality every day work tools (Hatchets/ saws etc) as well as some of the most insanely tough knives out there.
Here is my only question ❓, can you swim with it ? I do open water and want a dive knife to ease my paranoia of being entangled or encountering marine life , but like the feel of tactical knives , rather than ultralight plastic things that rocket out of sheaths and get lost after one lap or dive ......... I guess just dreaming
yes u can with the san mai version. I took such blade to the ocean and it does not rust. the sheath got holes on it to drain out water and stay secured even without the handle strap.

I own a Cold Steel RAYAH 1 knife and it’s awesome but it was relatively pricey. Now I’m considering to get the Magnum Tanto XII,but...It bothers me that all the production is made in TAIWAN not in Japan or USA. I’m sure it’s because of the manufacturing costs,but if it’s so why are the prices the same, if they were to sacrifice the top fit and finish made in Japan...then the price should drop quite a bit, no to stay the same... or it is obvious that they only want to fill their pockets.?
Taiwan surpassed Japan in my opinion..I have a few great blades from Taiwan the tanto xll is one of them.. Taiwan isn't the Taiwan of old don't hold back because of that you won't be disappointed

it split wood easily with that 5mm thick spine, the secondary point goes deep when chopping wood, but not as powerful as 12 inches long machete.

Oh yeah, not only do they still exist.... They make some really good quality every day work tools (Hatchets/ saws etc) as well as some of the most insanely tough knives out there.

Here is my only question ❓, can you swim with it ? I do open water and want a dive knife to ease my paranoia of being entangled or encountering marine life , but like the feel of tactical knives , rather than ultralight plastic things that rocket out of sheaths and get lost after one lap or dive ......... I guess just dreaming
yes u can with the san mai version. I took such blade to the ocean and it does not rust. the sheath got holes on it to drain out water and stay secured even without the handle strap.

I own a Cold Steel RAYAH 1 knife and it’s awesome but it was relatively pricey.
Now I’m considering to get the Magnum Tanto XII,but...It bothers me that all the production is made in TAIWAN not in Japan or USA.
I’m sure it’s because of the manufacturing costs,but if it’s so why are the prices the same, if they were to sacrifice the top fit and finish made in Japan...then the price should drop quite a bit, no to stay the same...
or it is obvious that they only want to fill their pockets.?
Taiwan surpassed Japan in my opinion..I have a few great blades from Taiwan the tanto xll is one of them.. Taiwan isn't the Taiwan of old don't hold back because of that you won't be disappointed
